How to Grease & Maintain an Injection Mold Slide Assembly

Injection mold slide assemblies (slide action) primary function is to aid in the proper opening and closing motion of a mold. It's imperative that this portion of injection mold equipment be kept free of contaminants and is properly lubricated with a compatible grease.
Steps Involved:
- Remove the slide bearing surface from your injection mold
- Remove any old grease with a quality aerosol degreaser
- Apply a thin layer of grease to the top of the slide foot and bottom
- Be sure to grease the gib, working the lubricant in back-and-forth for proper application
- If you have a slide by shutoff, play close attention to these areas and use a minimal amount (very thin layer) of grease. Treating them similar to that of an ejector pin or lifter
