I just finished The Rachel Incident and I enjoyed it! Last month i devoured Emma Cline’s The Guest and I gotta say she’s one of my new found favorite authors!

Always love the way you speak about books. I look forward to getting to Birnam Wood next month and I also didn't love August Blue.

I would try Swimming Home by Levy! So far, I think it’s her best.

Of the 2023 books I’ve read there have been no five star reads and only three 4.75, of which The Shards is one alongside two Women’s Prize long list titles. The Shards stands as my favorite new book this year as well. Impressive a January book has held on to that title and amongst few others beyond you two embracing it as a favorite!

The latest episode of Sean Thor Conroe's podcast (1storypod) is him talking about his experience of Fuccboi being panned. Not deserved!

I read the Cost of Living and Swimming Home by Levy and they both slapped! As I understand it the internet's cosensus seems to be that the Cost of Living is much better than Things I don't Want to Know. But I'd especially recommend Swimming Home, I think it would be totally your thing. So don't give up on her just yet 🙃

I loved The Guest-favourite boook of the years. Hated the 😂😂lori Moore-complete nonsense and I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned In Memorium as it’s the new queer novel and heading for the booker long list.n I wouldn’t touch Sheila Heti with a ten foot pole.

I’m so enjoying The RachelIncident. And I really love Deborah Levy’s non fiction.

@@TheBarandtheBookcase , I'm SO glad I picked it up. I'm enjoying the witty dialogue and the platonic love dynamic SO much.

Interesting, video artist and photographer Shirin Neshat, who was also born in Iran, has a career spanning exhibition of her work entitled I Will Greet The Sun too. I guess it’s based on a phrase from a famous Iranian poet.

I found The Shards to be an extremely tedious read.
