As a crypto main myself I typically don't even use the Drone to look around when there's a fight I run to it and throw out the Drone and immediately EMP and listen for the sound of people trying to pop Shield cells or batteries and catch them with their pants down or at least it buys us time to find them and kill them

I'm a rush crypto, if I throw down my drive its to only check the banners, and its a quick "in and out" I look at the banner and get out an keep moving, I do this even when we're running to the ring, ive gotten so good at it that im never behind in the group.
And when it comes to he emp, I literally just throw drone and use the ultimate and back the fuck up if needed, the only time I actually get in the drone to do a emp is when there's more than one squad and I want to make sure to hit everyone

Crypto main here, you're not wrong. A lot of the time a huge part of the game for me is: Step 1, Get drone in decent position. Step 2, move. Your team is already fighting. Crypto is only really useful if everyone on the team has mics and are using them. Hence why I've been gradually drifting away from it and using rampart more.
There are few of us crypto mains who push aggressively, they’ll toss their drone and get it in position quick and leave it for intel. Me? I’m not one of those people

I was playing with some people I've become a regular to and we would sometimes choose each other's legend. One of my teammates got crypto (she's a lifeline main) and just spent an entire fight flying his drone around. At one point I was went sliding by her trying to get away while getting shot it lol after we died all she says it "it was fun. I can see everything that was happening" xD like it's legit some sort of flying simulator game.
Personally when I play crypto I don't go in his drone unless I'm retrieving banners and checking to see if any teams are nearby. Now that his drone e can get tossed ahead of himself you can just throw it, emp and push up with the team.

One thing, I play with Crypto, and I see a lot of other players when they choose it, is that they don't know that you can tag the champion banner that says how many enemies are around, and I only learned this because one tagged it and I had no idea that I could do that, so I tested and learned that. That is, if you don't have a mic, you can let know if there are people around for your teamates.

As a cryptomain myself I think that the buff that we got in this season definitely helped us a lot with our original problem with always being on the drone right now usually if you were being chased then you're just going to throw your drone on a wall catch them aiming at the drone and then shoot at them as they are not looking at you and it's actually very effective in close quarters combat you can disappear behind the wall as a cryptomain use your drone as a decoy and catch someone off guard and unlike mirages decoys people actually fall for it and want to destroy the drone because they know that I can EMP and they know that a counter is crypto by destroying his drone but what they don't know is by Amy and taking the time to destroy the drone crypto has the complete ability to swing the corner and catch them off guard not to mention obviously being able to activate the drone without having to go in is also a good thing to
Crypto buff concept: make the drone screen partially transparent so you can see thru but obvs this nerfs drone use a bit
