I literaly landed the exact same shot on a fallow deer today. Hipfire, about the same distance on a running fallow and exactly the same point of impact, only difference is that i used the .270

I bet he would recommend Layton Lakes to start on, does so every time the question comes up in videos. Gun, not sure which he would recommend. I tried the vanilla guns like .243, .270, 7mm. Each is good for something. 7mm for Moose, Elk, Bear. .270 for deer, .243 for coyote. Best used with Polymer Tips but if you know how to shoot and dont hunt the top rating trophy, the softpoint are pretty good too but you need patience and good shot placement. But now I roll with DLCs: Eckers .30-06 (or M1 Iwaniec) for big game and the Solokhin 1890 (Mosin nagant) for deer. .22 for rabbits and ducks. Occasionally shotgun for deer and rabbit. Have not tried other maps than the vanilla game ones, so loadouts will change on other maps.
