  • Schindler Traction Lift. This lift is one of my favorites though unfortunately things are waring out quickly, such as the cable on the 2nd floor (Yellow Level) I had removed the location as I don't want the centre to be blamed for normal issues that happen, I did however explain to the help desk how dangerous the situation was as it was a steel cable and could easily hurt a child or an elderly person.
Interesting point! The motor sound on this lift is extremely awesome, I believe this is a bottom drive traction lift as it doesn't seem to run like a hydro.
Thank you for watching! Uploads will vary due to time/weather/location so I do apologize in advance for lack of uploads.

If you know where this place is please don't put it in the comments as I don't want the centre to get backlash for this issue, as in the last part, they've taken it out of service really fast.

Sounds like a shopping centre, the lift needs to be upgraded, the same thing happened at a shopping centre in Burwood where the cable fell off. Respect for a centre is a good thing you did.

Yeah, I don’t like it when people explain the reasons as to why it doesn’t matter and that they’re “Just a company”, I did it for the respect of the centre as no one would like it if they owned a centre and blasted that the lifts are dangers.

It is a bottom drive traction. The only thing that's changed on it in 2 decades is the S series hall indicators were replaced out with the red LED ones.

Also, good on you for looking out for the centre’s social integrity by keeping it private! I honestly never think of that when elevators break at a certain location…

Exactly! It’s not their fault that these normal issues happen, why should they get backlash for regular wear and tear?

Considering that the whole joint already has possibly the worst reputation purely because of its location, and that the owners are a corporation, not a local company, does it matter?

@@360_lifts6 That’s good, yet it really doesn’t matter. I’m sure a video of a lift on TH-cam is the least of anyones worries when they hear about this place. Most people would probably be more worried about being mugged than hurt by a lift!
Half the centre will be demolished soon anyway.

    Wow! This elevator really needs
to be replaced by Schindler 5000.

Yeah, nah. Other than the QKS9 doors it's in pretty good shape.

Really a shame, that. Especially considering how nice this lift is. Though, to all the people who just whinge about “oLd LiFtS gEt mOdDeD fOr nO rEaSoN bEcAuSe pEoPLe hAvE nO tAsTe iN LiFtS”… I hope y’all understand that things like this are often the reason _for_ a mod, and they’re more than legitimate.

This is why Lifts We Lost is more than just a hall of shame of mods that I hate; it's a careful review of why exactly modernisations were unneeded or pay little respect. That said, I doubt this is a fatal issue for this; the cable can simply be cut.

Such a shame it's badly broken like this; it really does look like a decent lift and mod.

It should be alright. I assume it just needs a new bracket and to be re-tightened.
