Owned my Mk1 Scirocco from 1977 through 1991.. it was horribly sprung from the factory ( it road way too high up front when loaded - full tank with driver ) so it needed newer & lowered struts and hardware, bigger sway bars front & rear, upgraded shift linkage, many engine mods including polished ports & heads, replacing the Bosch manual CIS, better wheels and tires to reduce the unladen sprung weight, replacement of the OEM exhaust with an oversized free flowing Borla Stainless system w/ball flex, etc etc etc ... it was a great fun car that I dearly miss.
All cars these days look exactly the same....round blobs. Is it a vw, an audi, a honda, a ford, a mercedes...hard to tell. It's like everything is designed in one factory by one designer who has zero imagination. I'm so glad I have a 79 scirocco...A REAL scirocco !
@Xenos Gaming Okay Corado is ist's kein Volkswagen Coupe and related. Therefore we're Opel (General Motors) Manta A and Manta B and the Opel Calibra Coupe, sich ist also alles stand-alone Car and no Opel Manta C. Tell a Calibra driver he would drive a Manta. Nor is the Corado a Scirocco. Just ask Volkswagen and Opel. Ich sprach verschiedene LittleBigPlanet English and have translated it to Google
My first car was a 1975 Scirocco, absolute junk. I remember it having no power and it always vapor locked on hot days. Would have to wait several hours for it to cool down and start. JUNK!!!!
Nice to learn the history of the Skirocco!
