  • Laminar Flow Analysis by COMSOL Multiphysics (Fluid Flow Module)- This video explains How to Perform Finite Element Analysis of Laminar Flow in a Pipe in details by using COMSOL Multiphysics. In fluid dynamics, laminar flow is characterized by fluid particles following smooth paths in layers, with each layer moving smoothly past the adjacent layers with little or no mixing. At low velocities, the fluid tends to flow without lateral mixing, and adjacent layers slide past one another like playing cards.
    Geometry Specifications-
Cylinder of Radius of 12.5 mm and a length of 300mm
The fluid here used is water. Density of water is 1000 kg/m^3. The dynamic viscosity of water is 0.00089 Pa-s. Calculate Reynolds number and see if it falls within Laminar Region.

In my case Boundary condition only include pressure, velocity , mass flow, and fully developed flow and not the condition for laminar flow.
How do I check for entrance length effect in laminar flow ?? ???

Hello. For a 2D laminar flow, what should be the expression for wall shear stress? spf.mu*spf.sr or what else? Some parts of the wall are not perpendicular to x or y axis? Does it make any difference?

Sir thanks a lot for your video... Sir i have comsol 5.6 and in boundary condition it is showing fully developed flow rather than laminar flow... So please guide me what can i do for it to get the laminar flow results.

Sir i am studying for the effects of roughness on a circular microchannel. I want to create the entire rough surface on the inner surface of the channel. I have my conditions as:
    Outer diameter- 0.282mm
    Inner diameter- 0.123 mm
    Length --- 140 mm
    Roughness height--- 1.4 micrometer
    standard deviation-- 1 micrometer.
Please provide me a demonstration on how to create the model with rough surface and study the heat transfer characteristics. It will be you major help sir.
