Thks for all the Christmas music. Your incite on views of people's comments on the Notre Dame opening & comments on your carpet(really?) are interesting. It reminds me of comments on the outfits a certain young pianist wears. "less is more". her concerts are still packed & has a huge on-line presence so a few stupid comments doesn't worry her.
I am grateful that the Notre Dame de Paris organ is playing again! I understand why not everyone liked the organ music, but this is the first time a pipe organ has been the center of attention in a public event broadcast worldwide!
I think I’m right in saying, Gaudete Sunday comes from the text of the readings for Advent III: ‘Rejoice in the Lord always’ and not ‘Gaudete Gaudete Christus est natus’ which is obviously a Christmas Carol. I say this, because I once wrongly included the famous Christmas tune in a service on Advent III only to be told I had played the ‘wrong Gaudete’, and that Christ was not in fact born yet as we were still very much in Advent!
Listening on catch up,this week because of circumstances……. Reference the level of the Tuba in HELMSLEY - comparing with my Willis Tuba from Hereford as supplied by Lavender Audio the SMR Tuba is definitely very restrained. The Hereford Tuba sings nicely above full organ. As I hear it, the SMR Tuba does not do that it. How does it sound in HQ?

Beautiful as always. Love that kitty had a cuddle while daddy played. She looked like she was in kitty heaven.
"who needs tuna🐟
I want tunes 🎶"
This was a truly beautiful evening! Thank you so much as always.
Another wonderful VC. Great hymns for Advent.
An entire philharmonic orchestra in one instrument

Pity it wasn't recorded in glorious stereo to appreciate a better sound as such an organ should as opposed to mono!.

The organ is distorted during full organ passages. There is an electronic sizzle that compromises the naturalness of the sound.
