I recorded this on a tape back in the late 90s, then lost the tape before Shazam came along.. never found out what it was at the time but still remembered that vocal hook... took me 21 years to stumble across it again here, so good
I'm in the same exact boat....I was trying to find this among other tracks on the Jive Dance Party Hits album and I just stumbled upon it this week and couldn't be more ecstatic about it! I'm a producer and wanna mess around with some of the old school tech house remixes on the album
when I play out this is still the groove i'm trying to supply. Ive been collecting house music since 1999 and it's crazy how the groove and vibe of the records from 96-2002 hit me. mood II swing, playin 4 the city, etc i want a certain amount of acid in every track. I dont mean straight 303 but at very least something suggesting hypnotic psychadelia a bit of class, a bit of ash, a bit of ass. garbled background vocals are huge plus! basically the pure MDMA days before clubs turned into bottle service nightmares. THis track in partcular reminds me of fucked up late nights crusing the scene in boston, philly, nyc, montreal, partying at stereo on st catherine, the drive from maine listening to united dj's of america MARK FARINA or Doc Martin with my friends passing joints and beers. damn those were some heady days
OMFG... this just took me back so damn hard. I am pretty sure I heard this mixed on an old Mushroom Jazz mix from Mark Farina. I'm in heaven right now.
@@staircas3737 mark opened his classic United DJs of America mix w this song. First time I heard it and still love it. The entire mix is great. Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/pXK2xu9G40I/w-d-xo.html

@@staircas3737 right on! I’ve been lucky to see Mark play in many different cities over the years. Always love it when he comes home to play at Smartbar in Chicago. Derrick Carter, Heather and Diz are usual suspects to join his set every now and then. Always a treat!
I see the "vocal mix" version as the one where the girl is fine and having a happy life picturing her cycling in a sunny day, the "borderline insanity dub" is during the night at home alone when her demons wakes up and becomes borderline and lunatic and keeps rehashing her obsessions.

An era where the music was the priority. Hypnotic.
