@elinquisidorperseverante6835 me too, honestly, but it was subtle enough that i almost didn't in my own playthrough. (i'd seen a comment from someone online that touched on it in a way that made me suspicious, but things didn't quite come together into a realisation until that specific point in the game.) so i can't really blame him for missing it! (hopefully this one pings, TH-cam mobile's habit of breaking the reply ping lately is driving me batty.)
@synniestar I always thought it must have been obvious because even my dumb ass got it. The "You won't give me the gun to protect myself" thing was the biggest clue, but I understand it can be misunderstood
