First time I've seen NF as a featured artist. This guy is becoming my favorite rapper of all time. His songs and lyrics in general are so deep, dark yet heartfelt. That's reality, I'm a addict ( 1year clean), survivor of a head on collision caused by a drunk driver, i e been married and divorced, and served as a volunteer fire department for 4 years. ... I just turned 29. Life isn't always pretty but it's beautiful trip
i have around 19k minutes listened to NF and I am so glad so many people have found him all of his song have meaning and it sound like you can really relate to some of these things have a good one man
@Hunter Smothers 💜Love this song and video!💜 But NF will always be "my main dude"...💙I love his voice, personality and variety of music... Can't get enough of him💙
I can say it happened to me two month when I listened to one of his songs 'Mansion' and I was like woah man how didn't I find him earlier that would've changed been better and then I said @Antonio Martinez the same thing that you said then found out it's not true xD

"What if everyone knew my depression was worse than they thought, they prolly gonna look at me differently" That hit me hard, cause I wonder that every day.
For those of you saying Nate "Sold out" for doing a song with a non-Christian rapper, Listen here. He didn't. Just because he does a song with an artist that doesn't share the same beliefs as him, it doesn't mean he sold out. He isn't even a Christian rapper, He's a rapper. Religion has nothing to do with it, although his talent was gifted from god. Would you call yourself a Christian lawyer? Or plumber? Or a christian gas-station manager? No. You're a lawyer, or a plumber, or a gas station manager. At the end of the day, if you happen to be Christian, that's who you are. Just because you associate yourself with atheists or Muslims or any other religion does not necessarily mean you're abandoning your religion, or that he's a sell-out. Nate can rap with whoever he wants, and doesn't need people to judge him. I'm happy to say that I've been a fan for two years, and got my mom and 2/4 siblings hooked on his music 😄
Thank You!! Well, Said!!! Ok, gotta rant here. If you are a Christian (I am, so this means me too) we are called to reach out to others and LOVE THEM!!! No matter who they are, how they look, where they came from, period. You don't have to agree with how someone thinks or with what they do to treat them with kindness and respect. I'm so tired of seeing all the fake crap that media feeds people. The TV pastors, the "Christians" who blast people on TV and hate on other religions, it is ridiculous. To be a Christian is to strive to be like Christ. Even if someone doesn't believe in the spiritual side of Christianity as their Faith or a religion that doesn't matter. Treating people with respect and kindness is what Christ did and if you are claiming you are Christian you should strive to do that as well. I think NF or anyone for that matter who reaches out and connects with people outside their bubble is being Christ-like. Christ didn't just go to churches or synagogues all the time and forget the hurting world around him, he spent most of his ministry in the streets with the poor, sick, and hurting. So even if you don't believe in Christ as the Saviour that is spoken of in The Bible, he was a good person and treated people with love and respect. I think that is a little bit of what our world needs these days. Ok, rant over. Penguin Riot I think you are completely right. I like the collab they did and think it's a great way for NF to reach outside his audience.
His music is actually Hip Hop/Christian Hip Hop. Stop calling him a rapper when it's way different than the music that NF does. I don't understand why people can't understand the difference between a rapper and a Hip Hop artist! And this gets me mad that you all just assume that he is a rapper just because of the way he makes his music. Christian Hip Hop is rare for people to do but he is one of the first ones to do it. We all must respect his music and stop calling him a rapper because he's singing to tell us about life not like rappers who does it to brag about their "life" and make money. NF is nowhere near that in ANY of his music and in his lyrics!
@@Kevin_1337 you know, he said he's not a christian rapper in multiple interviews, he also uses the same analogies Penguin Riot uses. do your _______ research.
@@cryotherapper3692 specifically I said "Hip-Hop" if you didn't read. Where in ANY research does it state "rapper?" The word "rapper" is WAY different comparing to what NF does.
This is such a great collab. They balanced each other, they kept the message, and they didn't try to one up each other. My question is why is the comment section trying to undermine this masterpiece by saying who was the best or just congratulating one artist? I'm NF's fan but I can clearly see the amazing talent Futuristic has and even though he cusses, he has a message and a purpose and that's something you can't take away from him... so let go of the politics, stop fighting and look beyond your superficial brains, you will find the beauty of this song. Futuristic keep doing what you do! God Bless.
I am an nf fan as well and i love the speed of futuristic but i hate when they cuss bc they don't have a big enough vocabulary to support the meaning of the song and I am a very christian kid that doesn't listen to anything with cussing in it and when i listen to this i have to skip his verse which i hate bc he is fun to listen to
Ginarys Cabrera exactly! Reading through these comment all I hear is NF and even though he is my favorite artist and has been for over a year now, futuristic did such a great job in this aswell. Thank you!

really like how the video switches back ,and forth between the both of them. this song is great can't wait to see what else nf is working on this year.
NF's lyricism is already comparable to those sitting at the top of the rap game... give him a couple more years and even great albums like Mansion or Therapy Session will come nowhere near his future projects. This guy has scary potential.
Dude people don't care about lyrics, he's an independent artist... this coming from a lyrical person who loves music like this. he's not blowing up because music is more about beat now... there is nothing wrong with that but it's just the DJ's time to shine.
I listened to this song over and over, and I'm realising that Futuristic seems to really be realising that he needs to make "music that matters". He's coming to a change of mind and change of heart. As the Bible says though, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind" and I realised he uses a word that many disagree with, we shouldn't be too hard on him. Respect bro. You'll have those who come along to encourage you on this walk, and those who may try to tear you down, but you have to be sure you know what you want. #epiphany
NF always go's deep into his songs but he can also go in and spit hard... and he's a Christian rapper so he stuck to his roots... look up more of his songs
Called his own Album garbage and claimed he wanted to make music that matters. That had to have come from the heart. Both of them blew it away, Not just NF

I'm so disappointed at the Christians saying that it wasn't good for NF to be with a rapper that cusses. Like if you don't see what NF is trying to do then you're not a real nf fan and that's sad
Ricky mathern ik we ain't perfect but calling him a sellout or a faker is probably the stupidest thing we can ever say because he's rapping with someone that "cusses"
God loves every one. all these guys are doing is showing us how morally bound we are to God. Even futuristic is starting to live in his will. Why else would he reach out to Nf. Positive changes that's why.
Ricky mathern you seem like a nice guy but calling NF a sellout shows how morally bound we are to god? Like I said in my first comment if you don't know what NF is really trying to do then you're not a true fan... cause believe it or not he's gonna be featured in another song with another rapper that cusses
Edwin Tobias They WERE the opposites. That's the whole point of the song. If you listen to Futuristics's lyrics he literally says that his album was garbage and that he was stuck in a gimmick. Now he's leaving that to make music that matters. The word the song is named after literally means "spiritual awakening." They were opposites and this song is futuristics way of leaving that
1:05 made me cry just now bro. Never heard these lyrics the way I did just now. You can join me at the top if you go through the endless journey full of obstacles and difficulties.
Chance kinda proved that you don't need to sell out to blow up. You just need heart. Futuristic has great flows and rhymes but tbh his themes are still quite childish.
THIS SONG REALLY NEEDS TO BE ON ALL RADIO STATIONS, EVERYWHERE (and the fact the "radio world" is already hip to NF by now and the world in general could really use a song like this rn, seems like the PERFECT time) Seriously, can we make this happen please?! Such greatness/a great message deserves to be heard by so many more, and a lot of kids (for many different reasons) only listen to what's on the radio. The time is now!
Can’t we just just appreciate the fact that we have NF, we have a musician whose not afraid to be real and get out here, we have a musician who makes music that matters. A musician who has helped ppl and can relate to them. A musician who’s been through hell but is still here. So can we just appreciate that and stop pointing out the fact that he’s Christian, music has no religion, pain has no religion, so why does it matter that he’s Christian can’t he just be human.
"What if everyone knew my depression was worse than they thought? They probably gonna look at me differently" NF gets me everytime...*cries in a corner*
CHASE PETERS I agree that swearing can take away the grace of a song. But I also think it depends on the context of the song. Very emotional songs can be enhanced with swearing sometimes, especially if it's out of anger. Swear words are often used as emphasis words, so it can highten the emotion that the song is portraying. Saying swear words just to fill in syllables of a line, however, shows lack of creativity. In my opinion at least.
soldseperately I agree with your cursing and creativity point. I can't listen to rappers that end every bar with the n word, shows no skill or creativity
Everyone's quoting NF songs trying to prove he's a Christian rapper but the quotes have nothing to do with being a Christian rapper the only thing the quotes state is the fact that he is Christian but he claims he doesn't know what a Christian rapper is he's just a rapper who's Christian he's just classified as a Christian rapper if your a real fan you wouldn't go against NFs words 🔥 #RealMusic
No doubt, there's a difference between being a Christian rapper and a rapper who is a Christian. Which I think he's the second of the two. I have no problem with that. His music is 🔥
Nocturnal Prodigy he is Christian and is open about that but his music is NOT all based around that. Its based on things he has been through not just God. when he talks about his it's about how he wonders sometimes if God is up there or talking about how his faith in God helped him get through everything.
Wish You Wouldn't question NF cus he's Real. All I Have is him and my Notepad. He's the reason I can Breathe and not have to go to a Therapy Session.I get Lost In The Moment when I listen to him.I'll Keep On telling you that he is the Only One.You all need to Wake Up and get Motivated, can you Understand Me?If you dont like him, then Face It. I'm just trying to make a Statement. His music is an Escape, you're not Alone.Turn The Music Up and just listen to his verses. That's all I have to say,Goodbye.

That's reality, I'm a addict ( 1year clean), survivor of a head on collision caused by a drunk driver, i e been married and divorced, and served as a volunteer fire department for 4 years. ... I just turned 29. Life isn't always pretty but it's beautiful trip
You run into songs like this because you have been through hardship. Lucky ones will never truly understand the meaning of this song

Yeah that added a good touch to it.

LYRICS
Intro: Futuristic]
I had an epiphany
I was repeating history
I was doing everything I hated
The weight on my shoulders
I let it all get to me (I let it all get to me)
I had an epiphany
I just smiled at my enemies
I was listening to everybody who was talking

Now she missing me, yuh (now she missing me)
[Verse 1: Futuristic]
Yeah, moral of the story is that nobody did it for me
Had to make a change (nah)
I was living in the city with no scene
I had a dream I had to make a lane (yup, yup)
Always knew that I couldn't live off of minimum wage
Ripping the pay stub
I had a minimal taste for all the fame stuff
But I got into the game without a cent to my name
And now I'm ballin' like I'm in the NBA, bruh
And I know I got a lot but I'm not content
If they ask me to stop, I will not consent
Never let nobody block 'cause my shot to miss
You can meet me at the top if you hop the fence
And you climb the stairs
And you fight the beast
And you lose your way
Then you find your peace
And you do it sober
Then you find a drink
Then you spiral down
And it all repeats
And I always had a vision I could get it
So I did it by my lonely
I don't owe nobody nothing, never let nobody own me
Got some money from the music, and I spend it on the homies
But don't put nothin' before me, gave a whip to little Brody
And I'm only getting started
And I'm eating with the people that I starve with
And my batteries, I had to recharge 'em
I made an album but that shit was garbage
Yo, I was trapped in a gimmick
I finally get it
I'm here to make music that matters
If I die, it'll all be alright
'Cause the message I gave you will live for me after
And my chapter will highlight a lifetime
Of energy gave through a bright mind
How you never had to stand on the sideline
How you the guide to your own guidelines

That's an epiphany
I had an epiphany, yeah
[Verse 2: NF]
I had an epiphany
That I could make history
That I could prove everyone wrong
That told me I wasn't cut out for this music thing, yeah
I had an epiphany

And used it on positive things in my life
Instead of the people that lie to me, huh?

That I could put all of my hurt into music
And use it for people that might feel the same as me
Yeah, I had an epiphany
What if everyone knew my depression was worse than they thought?
They probably gonna look at me differently
Yo, this song got me going back, when I was a stupid kid
Thinking maybe I could make it in the music biz
And then I figured out the politics
And realized that half of y'all don't even know what music is
Ain't going nowhere, I told 'em to get used to me
Feels like I'm living in a movie scene
A bunch of people trying to tell me how to act and breathe
One thing I never let nobody ever do was tell me who to be
I never got into the party scene
Maybe I was just scared to drink
'Cause addiction it runs in my family
That's someone I was scared to be
You're looking pitiful compared to me
Since I can barely read
All I wanted was somebody I could trust
That I knew would keep it real with me
Rap's always been a mirror for me
That's when I figured out that maybe I'm the one that's gotta make it on my own, yeah, it's clear to see

And this is the way that I feel
In the industry of fakes trying to stay real
In the industry of lames trying to get deals
Lord knows I'ma get it, that's Meek Mill
Yeah, I lay in my bed at night thinking
"There's got to be more to me"
I'm trying to pay off the mortgaging
But the life of the people I love in the midst of it
I've always thought that if
I learn from mistakes that I'd make
Even the losses are victories
That's when it starts hitting me
If you set your mind to it, you can do anything

Totally agree. Very well said
His music is actually Hip Hop/Christian Hip Hop.

ThKid same, kids crazy
Same with me been listening for a long time
ThKid thinks
This is such a great collab. They balanced each other, they kept the message, and they didn't try to one up each other. My question is why is the comment section trying to undermine this masterpiece by saying who was the best or just congratulating one artist? I'm NF's fan but I can clearly see the amazing talent Futuristic has and even though he cusses, he has a message and a purpose and that's something you can't take away from him... so let go of the politics, stop fighting and look beyond your superficial brains, you will find the beauty of this song. Futuristic keep doing what you do! God Bless.
Ginarys Cabrera listen to Ivan B blow up it’s a great song
Ginarys Cabrera I agree both artists are amazing I’m an NF fan as well and futuristics lyrics hit just as hard and supports the same message

NF's lyricism is already comparable to those sitting at the top of the rap game... give him a couple more years and even great albums like Mansion or Therapy Session will come nowhere near his future projects. This guy has scary potential.
Agree!!
Dude people don't care about lyrics, he's an independent artist... this coming from a lyrical person who loves music like this. he's not blowing up because music is more about beat now... there is nothing wrong with that but it's just the DJ's time to shine.
Ghost Writer that's what's wrong with rap today. the lyrics should matter. not the same old stuff.

Definitely, this song alone was fire. We need more
NF's verse seemed so emotional. He didn't seem to go hard or say a lot, but it seemed so deep.
He didn't curse, or fit a bunch of words into one line, but his verse was still so impactful.
#epiphany
Make "music that matters" for the one who first decided that each of us matter, and showed it by dying on the cross for us.

NF always go's deep into his songs but he can also go in and spit hard... and he's a Christian rapper so he stuck to his roots... look up more of his songs

Yeah, I lay in my bed at night thinking
"There's got to be more to me"
I'm trying to pay off the mortgaging
But the life of the people I love in the midst of it
I've always thought that if
I learn from mistakes that I make
Even losses are victories
That's when it starts hitting me
If you set your mind to it you can do anything
That's an epiphany
That's an epiphany, yeah
I had an epiphany
I had an epiphany, yeah
NF + Futuristic = Deadly. Best collab ever
A dope combo! Check out my track with Futuristic on my page! I'm commenting all over lol.

Intro3
Futuristic + NF = REAL BARS ! #love
I remember his first EP, waiting for a new song🥺 he’s come so far, I’m on a NF marathon rn don’t mind me
agreed, can't wait for (we think) "Lost," to come out
The best part about NF is he doesn't have to cuss to get his point across, and for that I applaud him 👏 Keep them hits coming🔥🔥🔥
Who cares even if he did cuss
DOLO This comment is so corny 😂😂😂
Will Smith don't have to cuss in his rap to sell records well I do so fuck him and fuck you too- Eminem
You think I give a DAMN about a Grammy?
Most people just use swear words as filler, so they can obtain more syllables so they can rhyme better. NF can just do that without swearing.
"Black and white rapping together call that a mix tape"
Quinton Anderson Lil Wayne line lmao
Quinton Anderson I'm pretty sure that's in a Gambino song...
misquoted
its childish gambino bonfire
Quinton Anderson lol
NF's rap really hits a spot in my chest that urges me to continue living, prior to hearing this song and therapy session i used to be A-level suicidal.. but now I just feel like I relate to him, music is keeping me alive, and without music I think I would have been dead already.
Josiah Rivera who even are you that's what nfs music is for you most likely don't listen to NF his music is for people like this you don't have to be rude
Yeah for real fuck off. Music is a way out for a lot of people, no reason to take that from them.
NF is good, Jesus is better
Taethetic music is what sets u free
Josiah Rivera no one ask you to be ahole if you don't care dont say shit
First off... The lyrics.. Second off.. The video.. Third off.. Straight fire! Perfection at its finest! Blessed! On repeat!

Edgar Garcia

Just as I thought that NF couldn't get any better....BOOM.
Malachy Lewin He's got godly potential.
You said it bro
Years later still listening to this. One of my favourite songs, always helped me with mental pain and anxiety many a time. They most likely won''t see this comment but thank you Futuristic and NF.

Darian Wilson same
Darian Wilson listen to real by NF 10/10
Nah intro 2 and therapy session... Real wasn't as good of a song
You kiddin? Real was a great song! It just wasn't what people want to hear these days.
Jason Huang he just didn't have as good as verses... He didn't use much wordplay and a lot of the lines he said we're unoriginal
Been waiting for you two to collab! Definetly not dissapointed!! ULTRA LIT!!
Both NF and Futuristic were straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
yeah well they are not gay so you are right
St1lysh i think he/she meant fire but okay 😂
futuristic is way better
Adam Jones nah
What do you mean "were" fire? They still are.
Y'all speak straight facts
Its hard to be something
In this world but y'all
Give people inspiration
I'm so disappointed at the Christians saying that it wasn't good for NF to be with a rapper that cusses. Like if you don't see what NF is trying to do then you're not a real nf fan and that's sad
Christian's aint perfect i don't understand the judgement. but God bless
Forever will I owe my heart to you light and dark cant reside in the same place ...sorry he shouldn't be doing tracks with curses
Ricky mathern you seem like a nice guy but calling NF a sellout shows how morally bound we are to god? Like I said in my first comment if you don't know what NF is really trying to do then you're not a true fan... cause believe it or not he's gonna be featured in another song with another rapper that cusses
Didn't expect them to collaborate ever. Wow 😳 I feel embarrassed cuz I thought they were opposites in the rap game. Guess I was way off.
Edwin Tobias same!
Edwin Tobias same dude same
Edwin Tobias They WERE the opposites. That's the whole point of the song. If you listen to Futuristics's lyrics he literally says that his album was garbage and that he was stuck in a gimmick. Now he's leaving that to make music that matters. The word the song is named after literally means "spiritual awakening." They were opposites and this song is futuristics way of leaving that
Edwin Tobias futuristic asked NF on twitter
best one. nf I'd changing lives with his words. changing the rap game forever
I have a feeling NF had an influence on futuristic, and he is going to start making music with meaning.
David Long
Listen to some of Futaristics songs they have a lot of meaning especially "Music saved my life"
he said he's i gonna start making more real music
NF changes everyones life.. his attitude and drive is contagious, rapper of the year and then some
lol what? NF is awesome, but futuristic has made plenty of songs with deep meanings.
Are you stupid Futuristic already makes amazing music with great meanings
1:05 made me cry just now bro. Never heard these lyrics the way I did just now.
You can join me at the top if you go through the endless journey full of obstacles and difficulties.
I legit can't get over this song I just have it on replay, like it's crazy how much music can relate to our lives
Still a banger.
Always
It still is
Still
Still
Still
NF fans dominating the comment section on this one.
The most hard-core fans out there. NF real music!!
wow. 5 years later still coming back to this song after it was my fav for a looong time. good times.
How come futuristic hasn't blown up yet?
NFLeddy because this is NF's time 😌
lmao
Because he doesn't want to sell out
he has 20m views on "The greatest"
Chance kinda proved that you don't need to sell out to blow up. You just need heart. Futuristic has great flows and rhymes but tbh his themes are still quite childish.
NF: *I realized most of y'all don't even know what music is*
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
THIS SONG REALLY NEEDS TO BE ON ALL RADIO STATIONS, EVERYWHERE (and the fact the "radio world" is already hip to NF by now and the world in general could really use a song like this rn, seems like the PERFECT time) Seriously, can we make this happen please?! Such greatness/a great message deserves to be heard by so many more, and a lot of kids (for many different reasons) only listen to what's on the radio. The time is now!
J Mitch
True!!!
This song would be my all time fav, it deserves 1 billion views.
I agree with you nate kills it, and futuristic is on another level himself
@cytaldeeartist
Guys, imagine a Nf&Logic collaboration. oh my Lord that would be amazing.
Yes please :D
NO lol logic would make him look bad
I'd love to hear NF and KB colab
Steven Hicks I've always wanted that
League Montages More like NF would make Logic look bad lmao
Can’t we just just appreciate the fact that we have NF, we have a musician whose not afraid to be real and get out here, we have a musician who makes music that matters. A musician who has helped ppl and can relate to them. A musician who’s been through hell but is still here. So can we just appreciate that and stop pointing out the fact that he’s Christian, music has no religion, pain has no religion, so why does it matter that he’s Christian can’t he just be human.
Not only him hopsin
"What if everyone knew my depression was worse than they thought?
They probably gonna look at me differently"
NF gets me everytime...*cries in a corner*
Still playing this song years later. Can't believe it's been 7 years. How!?
I love how you can tell futuristic tried to keep it clean this time
CHASE PETERS I agree that swearing can take away the grace of a song.
4.9 million views and at least 400k are mine. Great song
thats not how the views work, mate
@@o.marter he was saying how good the song was as he could listen to it over and over again
@jeremiah I know what he was saying.
r/Woooooosshhhh
@@o.marter 🤦♂️
Futuristic spits fire toooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AqUa GoLd He lit
I honestly think this song needs a part 2
Instantly had goosebumps when NF started. So relatable and so real.
These two are legendary...
Nocturnal Prodigy that's some truth right there
Nocturnal Prodigy is he using swear words in this?
Lecrae says the same thing. But he still gets hate on!
Man I will always love this song not only cuz it's amazing but this is how I discovered NF.
Sierra Johnson I see what you did there 👀
Wow.... Respect.
xsierrax 16 broooo that’s smart jeez I get it 👍👍
You're too much
xsierrax 16 well dam
