yeah great job Wanye thanks for the reports and a very special thanks for not profiting of the people affectted by the flooding with turning off the adds
Thanks so kindly for your updates, Wayne--especially the segment filmed by the Ping in Warorot Market which is NOT far from MY flat complex which I SHOULD be getting back to in January! Take care of yourself and again, my thanks for the latest info from my Second Home! Cheers from Cape Cod!
Great video Wayne. Could you provide your viewers which one of the nice new moobahns where most expats live, are flooded? It will help anyone who consider settling down in Chiang Mai in the future. I saw your flood video last year and I don't see ANYTHING being improved in Chiang Mai to prevent more floods in the future.
Just arrived in Chiang Mai for first visit and should have checked weather first. Had to go ankle deep out of hotel to get to dinner. Understand others in worse shape, so best wishes!
Yeah Wayne, I tried go night Market tonight, couldn't cross the road, but it was okay I found bar above the flood level, we had a banging night, Chiang Mai is great😊
It was all nice and sunny here in Chiang Mai today...mostly.....but that doesn't mean the waters coming from up river and the mountains have stopped. Hopefully good news to come.
Night bazaar is under water ! So many people are affected in the area. As a foreigner, I have more resources than average Thai, so I'm good. I do feel for all the locals affected. Thai people are super resilient and will weather this storm as well.
Still not as bad as back in 2011 mate it was more than half way up Loih Kroh terrible situation for those affected, Hope all is well mate under the circumstances
🤣 Yes, I don’t mind. Tim has used my flood clips for the past few years. I like watching his news channel. As long as he gives me a shout out, it’s fine 👍
Take it easy Wayne. I hear it’s gonna get worse. I’m driving up from Bangkok tomorrow. Do you know if the highways get flooded and is there a website to find that info? Your help would be appreciated
Thanks buddy, things are improving but still critical. I don’t know if any website but social media is the best way for updates. Richard Barrow does hourly updates
It’s about 1 am now , sep 26, at it’s rainning cats and dogs in Mae Hia. Just wondering about tbe situation in downtown and Hangdong.. and my kid’s school. Be safe everyone
@@WalkAboutWayne That is good, we don't want anything happing to Lucille. Saw your flood coverage on TNT, nice one. From what I am seeing there is not much live on the spot footage so you have done well to catch things there. It looks horrific though. Keep safe.
Hopefully the rains end soon and the drying begins, you're gonna need a snorkel for Lucille if this keeps up. Thanks for these reports, hope things improve soon
How bad will it be if it comes up 20m from normal like it has in Laos? With all the extra rain could stack up a bit higher if it lines up perfectly wrong.
@@andrewzimmerman4433 Yeah. Good to know. As I prepare for the eventual move over, definitely had flooding as a tiny thought in the back of my mind. I used to live across from Maya. Seemed like the floods were more on the flats or near the river. Still this is rough for everybody now. Stay safe!
Oh my! I don't know the name. Has he been in contact now? You can use the Chiang Mai Facebook groups. Someone on there will bound to know him. I hope he's safe and well.
Because of rampage corruption by the authorities my friend house was flooded. You see near his house was a huge canal and illegal emigrant cover it with plank and build houses on it. Over the years debris choke the canal and making cleaning impossible. Numerous attempts to report to the relevant authorities gone astray because of corrupt officials took bribes from those squatters. Hope the authorities do something about it urgently.
So, glad to catch your video. Have not heard from my friend just north of Chang Mai. She is closer to Myanmar, than Chang Mai, way north! Sending best wishes and prayers for safety! Thank you for your videos they are entertaining and informative. Much love Sofi!
People are used to it now...... I think the first time many people experienced it was in 200x, because according to Thais, it was the first in decades. It flooded till the backlane of Pantip.
2005 and 2011 are the years most talk about. The old original city Wiang Kum Kam was always flooding back in the day also though, that's what destroyed it.
@@WalkAboutWayne sweet, cheers mate🙏😊. I’m looking at the north east outside the old city, around Santitham rd. Looks like it’s the opposite side of the floods.

Yes that river is really swollen. Let's hope the weather changes soon for the better. Stay safe Wayne 🤩
Thanks mate 🙏
A great on the spot report from Chianmai. Well done Wayne Sky news will come knocking.
🤣🤣 Thanks Colin
Thanks for the updates. Stay safe. ❤
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for showing us the flooding Wayne. Keep dry and look forward to the updates. Best wishes from me here, in a very much drier Bang Saray.
Thanks Andy 🙏
Be prepared, Wayne. Flooding can come quickly. Get some food and move your stuff. Be safe, mate.
All good buddy. Thanks

No problem. We have sun and blue sky now, so hopefully the rain stays away today. Hope to see you around in January
Thank you for the update! Take care!

Maybe in the future buddy. A few things have been improved around the city but lots more can be done.
Just arrived in Chiang Mai for first visit and should have checked weather first. Had to go ankle deep out of hotel to get to dinner. Understand others in worse shape, so best wishes!
Hi, how is the situation today ? Supposed to fly in today 😢
@@hanyau5921 Looking at the weather forecast shows chance of rain for everyday - Friday, Saturday and Sunday don't look as bad though.
@@tadpollard1132 are u near the old square?
No rain for 24 hours and things improving a little. It still could flood again though
@@hanyau5921 yes, near Tha Pae Road.

Hope you’re safe mate.
Be careful on the bridges mate watched one disappear in Vietnam last week, get some food in and put Netflix on for a few days
That's a great comment mate. One of them bridges could go at anytime.
It was all nice and sunny here in Chiang Mai today...mostly.....but that doesn't mean the waters coming from up river and the mountains have stopped. Hopefully good news to come.
Lovely day, sunshine and blue sky, just what we needed. Yes, it don’t mean much but looking like things are getting a little better.

Pretty bad further down mate but 2005 and 2011 were bad. I’m all good Gaz, still flooded down my way but all is well. Hope all is well mate 👍
God damn if it goes up another foot its gonna be a huge disaster, sad

It got alot worse. Not sure how Hang Dong is doing.
Hopefully it will be better when I come on the 17th of next month
Are the mosquitos out in force Wayne with all that heat and water?
I’ve not noticed any difference mate
I half expect you on a boat for today's flooding.
Do you have any update, mate? Hope you OK
Still flooded in areas (including mine). But it’s slowly improving.
Maybe it’ll wash away the snakes? Stay safe Wayne.
This is what's bringing the snakes.
Hope your bike is OK too, could hear a rattle on the video and presume it may be water damage to Lucille.
Phone holder rattling mate. Bike is great just needs a clean again.

Luckily we had a blue skies and sunshine the following day. Things are improving but the river is still high. Thanks
Do floods like this happen regularly in Northern Thailand/Chiang Mai?
Yes!
Yes, they do but this is a bad one. Floods ruined the original city many many years ago.
My friends bar, Orian Bar is flooded near Changklan road 😐
Yes mate, Chang Klan has been hit hard.
How is the old town area where river going through ?
I think Old town is ok now
Good on ya mate.
Cheers John

Really bad today. It could still get even worse but no rain today so far.
@@WalkAboutWayne What about up country? Is there another wave coming or is this the last of it?
Nice Honda Civic EG 👌
👍👍
Which cities are safe to live without a risk of flooding?
Is Khon Kaen safe from flooding?
Any on higher ground or away from rivers. I’m not sure about Khon Kaen, I’ve never been there.
Thanks for your advice
We hope to go house hunting next year
Enjoyed your vlogs and very informative
Supposed to be there in 20 days so will keep watching the news
Hopefully it will be back to some sort of normality by then 🤞
Is it better or different over by CMU? Or Maya Mall?
Just curious...I been thinking anything on flat land or near the Ping is bad.
Chiang Rai is really bad too. Stay safe
