  • Today we are answering some questions about our rabbit fodder system and how we grow fodder to feed our rabbit herd on a small scale. The big thing with any fodder system is it is not going to save you time, but it is going to save you money by taking a small amount of grain and growing it into a much larger volume of fodder for your rabbits. But there are lots of ways to do this and today, we are answering some viewer questions about our fodder system and things we have learned or found growing fodder for our rabbits.

I make a home blend of chicken feed then stout some, fermented some and grow some out to fodder stage. My chickens gobble it all up. And the field peas are preferred as fodder to the other methods.

I'll have to give it a go again with wheat. I love the idea. Just have it been able to make it work yet.

And would you consider doing a mix? peas, sunflowers, etc.?

I do this the major issue is they all grow at different rates, so the wheat is getting really tall when the sunflower seeds are just starting to grow
