      @kingmanic ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@dariuswilliams7509 It's not generational. The impact on her life is not fake though, some people will treat like she did it and she had no say in it's creation or distribution or is paid for it. People do have a right to determine how their image is used. If someone started putting my face on random meme shit it can be pretty tough reconciling. But porn has other baggage. She had extended family see the stuff and reach out and we're not told if that was supportive or shitty. And considering her family is very religious, a lot of it could be shitty. That's really awful for something she had no part of and the removal of consent is also a massive problem. It's not about generational divide but more that us guys don't have to think about so many people wanting to see us like that. We have different relationship with it. Like Ludwig said, his balls leaked and it was humorous even if similarly violating but for women, that shit doesn't go away. They have to deal with it all Poppin into their DM's to pop into their business email for it to be sent to relatives and have to field a phone call about it being fake. Ludwig didn't have to deal with that because the baggage is different.

    Mike should go out on his own, because he is far more likable when he isn't with Logan. Just in general, I think the guy has been through a lot in his personal life compared to his friends, and has a ton of experiences. Because of this, I think he's able to empathize and see when things are wrong. Unfortunately, he's all in with Logan and has his whole career tied up in his sphere. And because of that he's often thrown into situations where he's having to go along with people doing bad things.
    Not making excuses. BUT I just think he would do a lot better if he tried going off on his own, and wasn't dependant on scummy people. I feel like he has enough fans that he could do streaming full time, or just something entertainment based. Because regardless what you think of Mike, he has a personality that clicks with certain people. He's good on camera, and knows how to entertain.

    These guys creating such a safe space for QT to speak freely and be vulnerable, especially as the only girl in the room, is so beautiful to see. No one talking over her or undermining her experience, just listening to her and showing love. Also her face when Hasan mentioned that he’s already in touch with AOC about this situation and passing legislation was so heartbreaking, but also heart warming, you can see how much someone taking this shit really seriously and being proactive about this means to her. I loved this episode and I’d love to see these four in future episodes. Such a cool dynamic. And love how it’s a serious convo but they’re still making each other laugh.

    This actually feels like the first time I've heard somebody talk about the impact this kind of sexualisation has had on their body image issues so directly and honestly. Having struggled with an eating disorder in the past I have had trouble realising why sexual harassment and objectifying comments have had such a negative impact on my recovery. I realised that when people treat me or my body as an object, it sets me back years of recovery, of telling myself that I am more than my body, that people see me as more than that and that my worth is not determined by it. QT talking about that effect so openly makes me wish that more people can understand how that objectification can hurt so deeply and I genuinely hope she and everybody else affected by this situation can heal. ❤

    qt sharing means so much to me. i’m working through processing my own trauma with disordered eating + harassment etc. in therapy, and it’s been hard to not feel alone. this was a beautiful reminder to keep fighting, and to hold others accountable when it comes to changing stigmas, laws, and overall attitudes towards what all women go through.

    from Atrioc's twitlonger apology I assumed that QT was helping out with suggestions for restitution but dang she REALLY had to hold his hand through that one, huh.
    It's illuminating to discover that the things I appreciated most about his second apology (paying legal fees, working with the law firms, etc) were all because QT did the heavy lifting in providing him with actionable solutions.
    Honestly, thanks for being open about how those conversations went down. QT deserves so much credit for her handling of this awful situation.

    • @xeonbladev18
      @xeonbladev18 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      I don’t think that should be a big negative for Atrioc though. He asked someone what he should do like he should’ve because QT has way more knowledge about this than him and he agreed to take those actions. Still a good set of actionable steps for him even if he didn’t come up with them

    • @LiveOutLoud321
      @LiveOutLoud321 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      @@xeonbladev18 You’re right that it’s good he plans to take the action steps and that is something. But at the same time, it also didn’t sound like he necessarily approached QT from a place of looking for her direction on steps to take but instead she just sorta laid them out for him out of frustration.
      It also makes me re-think his authenticity because his apology came off as if those steps were from him and showed how sincere/serious he was about taking responsibility but now we know QT had to prompt them and he didn’t even give her credit for the guidance.

    • @xeonbladev18
      @xeonbladev18 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@LiveOutLoud321 I can agree to that mostly. Maybe I’m just slightly leaning towards it still being a good thing he asked someone directly affected on how he should handle this. He did seem genuinely sorry to me but just needed guidance from a women directly involved. It makes sense why’s she’s frustrated obviously especially considering they were really close friends so I get where you’re coming from too. But I still see it as an overall good response from him with actionable steps which is so rare to begin with too. Asking for advice from those directly harmed by this seems like a good thing from my irrelevant perspective

    • @FaultyWirestv
      @FaultyWirestv ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Atrioc was probably the person whose content I was consuming the most up until this happened. I am extremely disappointed, and obviously he did something really disgusting here. While deepfakes are the latest trend, a LOT of people consumed the very real hacked nudes of celebrities and content creators in the iCloud leaks a few years ago (many did so openly and voraciously), and didn't quite realize the harm it was doing to those people because they consider them celebrities and "it comes with the territory", similar to the narrative that some ignorant people are levying about the deepfake stuff too. And after the public discourse shifted toward how much of a violation it is, people were able to change their opinions on the matter.
      Now, I can't truly know how QT or anyone else is going to be impacted either short- or long-term by this deepfake situation, but it does have some parallels. I do believe that Atrioc does feel like a piece of shit for this, maybe exclusively as a result of being told how bad it is by people, maybe of his own volition, but I do find it mildly disappointing that the takeaway from him trying to take QT's advice as to what path to take to start making things the slightest bit better is that the damage is irreparable. I believe forgiveness should be an option (and she does sort of open the window for "maybe down the line i will feel differently"), and to say he can't be helped while he's doing exactly what I ask of him feels... tough. It's hard to know exactly what to do, and it's hard to know exactly what the women impacted will want you to do. I still have difficulty when trying to decide how far someone has to go with something before you should never give them a chance to grow and change and make amends. If he denied his actions, if he tried to pretend like it didn't happen, if he wasn't trying to make some sort of steps to repair some of the damage, it would be an easy "bye forever" type of situation, but I find it frustrating when people rush to cancel people forever for every poor decision that happens.
      The whole situation is just extremely disappointing and maddening, but because Atrioc was the one to have brought it to the public, in some ways he's being treated like the person who is creating the deepfakes. Yes, there are extreme problems with the concept of how you view women if you choose to consume this type of media. Yes, not taking the time to think about the impact of your live apology and potentially platforming it further is an extreme fuckup. But overall at least the dude seems to be willing to accept the blame. That's more than you can say for a large number of people who do awful things. I would be shocked if if none of the people currently decrying atrioc as unforgivable have never either searched or looked at hacked/leaked nudes of a celebrity. People treated that thing extremely commonplace for a long time. It really is hard to form an opinion on anyone's actions without the benefit of time passing. I'm just sad, overall.

      Yeah, I love hearing normies talk about politics, it lets me better understand the people around me instead of judging them in the moment and creating tension

      It’s interesting too that because it’s not a live broadcast, the guest is not as tense about discussing certain topics which ends up making for a more intriguing conversation

    QT is the angry mum that the streaming space needs. She shouldn't fucking have to be, but she is and she is a hero for going to bat on behalf of women in the space.

    1:53:09 oh my, to hear and see QTs genuine excitement from hasanms statement just makes me so happy. parasocial moment, but i get so much gratitude knowing there are positive things happening from the result of a terrible situation, and even happier that its with the people I watch the most online (that being qt and hasan at this moment)

    Incredible episode, teared up, laughed, learned, became a better human being through those two hours. All the topics from addiction, how broken society is, lack of context, sex work and the adult industry, internet echo chambers, empathy and obviously the deep fake stuff really hit hard. It's hard to sometimes grasp from a man perspective how things like these affect women, but hearing QT talk about it, especially the visceral stuff like her throwing up her meal and the topic of insecurity, anxieties, body image and deciding about becoming a voice or staying quiet really made it real and grasp-able. Thank you for putting the whole thing out for free (even tho I am a patreon).
    Also Mike was an unexpected pleasure to listen to, never really had an idea of who he was and judging by appearances and the first minutes I was concerned he might be a bit too much of a bro, but man was that illusion shattered.

    As an autobiography enthusiast, The Fifth Vital is actually pretty good. It’s not the most poetic or creative autobiography I’ve read, but it is raw and emotional. It’s introspective. It definitely takes you along on Mike’s journey, and it’s very informative. I was a little too young to understand the opioid epidemic as it was starting, so it definitely filled in the cultural gaps and allowed me to understand how this problem started from the ground up.
    I enjoyed reading it. Finished it in one night! It’s what I know Mike from and it’s definitely given me a different perspective on him than people get from Impaulsive and all that.
    I definitely recommend it.
