The problem is not that people don't know how to do long combos that punish your opponent (Like fighterZ). the problem lies in the number of evasive and defensive tools that make it very difficult to enter a complete combo while making it easy to get away. What I have realized is that it is better to use short but destructive combos than long combos, as it will give the opponent more room to counter you.
@@ccrawford7164You absolutely can. You just have to be mindful of your opponents ki bar, as that is tied to a majority of the defensive options. Also, if you can spin your opponent around, you're able to perform longer combos as long as you don't teleport mid combo, as that will leave an opening for a counter.
Haha enjoy man, you are primed and ready to lab and defeat them. Integrate atleast the beginner and intermediate combos and you should be fine once you lab up defense some more on the timing.
@BltzZ it's so easy to get lost in the mash and do the wrong string and kill the combo 🤣. This game is definitely not a full-on mash fest as people like to call it.
The combos aren’t hard to do especially coming from the old games but trying to pull them off on a Z counter spamming or Perception ass AI is where the trouble comes in lol, at that point you gotta hit what combos you can while in all honesty 😂 but love the vid man!
Or u just go Sparking lol, but if you're able to just fight AI with their ultra Instinct like by countering their perception that might help you cook in online lol
@@jorrogboeIt helps you against the AI but try not to rely on that because it’s not gonna be effective online, try to learn good defense options and you’ll see the AI is a really good training partner with how good it is at defense.
I appreciate these kinds of guides i am so ass at this game and I cant figure out how to translate what I learn in the tutorial battle mode to an actual match so these are really helpful
Amazing video! At first the combos looked somewhat daunting from the intro but you did a surprisingly great job at explaining them in small, understandable steps. Between practicing these and practicing the defensive mechanics, I'm going to be spending a LOT of time in training haha
DB tenkaichi tag team from PSP did a great job teaching some log combos, i was very good. As soon i started DBSZ my muscular memory did some combos but as some of new buttos have been added sinse PSP, a feew things work different but it's basically the same. I'm going to look for my PSP to train some long combos there while I'm outside my house
The issue with teleporting being your enemy is that they can do the same to you as soon as you do it so if you're not ready for it then you'll throw your combo do watch out for that
I would like to express my gratitude for the creation of this video. I am hopeful that I will be able to apply the knowledge you have imparted to me. Although I have experienced a few setbacks, I am thoroughly enjoying the process. Thank you for your assistance. 🔥👍
I love your videos man. I’ve been playing since Tenkaichi 3 for years so I’m very used the combos system but it has quite a few differences and additions. Definitely labbing some more while using this as a reference though because no matter what, you can always improve yourself in Dragonball games.
Absolutely man, been a big dragon ball nerd since the anime came to the west and my dad fed my addiction by finding me Japanese imported DBZ games. So when Budokai came to the US I lost my mind! Such a joy for me seeing the games doing well
thius is why i will never be top tier in this game. i could never pull off these combos, i try to master a simple 8 button combo and my brain fully shuts down every time. props to yall who can do this crap
I used to be that same way and even now it takes me a lot longer to learn combos than it used to. Repetition does me wonders and counter out the numbers like I do in this video. Some people bob their head or say hmm hmm hmm each hit. But those things do help in a lot of ways. Give it a shot
@@BltzZ i will hit the lab and try for a week or two. im currently struggling really hard to pull off the first part of the combo chain you showed at the beginning. i dont know if its the timing being so precise or if im just screwing up the buttons. idk but either way i appreciate the guide videos!
I played the tenkaichi games since the ps2 era. This combos are satisfying to execute and all BUT really when facing a good player or harder cpu who can utilize the z-counter can screw you a lot and turn the tides. Its better to do shorter combos and end it with a super or ultimate.
how do you end them with a super or ultimate? I noticed I can only end them with supers if im comboing during sparking mode and if I try to combo a beam attack in when I knock them away the beam attack won't come out or for example if I throw them to the ground and do a beam attack usually a good player or higher lvl cpu techs off the floor and evades
@@Kohbra22 You can perform super after your combo without sparking mode. An example of this is you do the AIR COMBO after that use one VANISH ATTACK and then use your SUPER or ULTIMATE. Its more efficient that way because your opponents have less chance of using defensive counters like the z-counter.
I come from Tekken and theoretically, these combos are way easier than in Tekken, but with timing and the enemy trying to Z-Counter and Super Counter everything (especially bots on Strong and Super difficuilty lol), it is really difficuilt. Tekken is like: alright, let's see when he will make an mistake, i'll punish him (doing a starter or launch depending on frame time) and combo him out of existence. Sparking Zero is like: alright, let's hit this guy and do a co- oh shit he already Z-Countered, what do i do now? I love it, it's a new kind of challenge. I think as soon as you get an eye for the animations and frame timings on most of the moves (like Z-Counter, Super Counter, Vanishing Strikes etc.) you will have a great time in this game. It may not be as complex on combos but man, it sure is complex and fast paced in regards of nearly every possible move. I just hope that balancing will not be as much of a problem as i am right now thinking it will be (Especially with Fusions and most of the Super Characters being incredibly strong) but, i get that they somehow want to have a similar power scaling as the anime/manga.
@@NoLimitSquadi realized this quickly Key to high level , unpredictable play is learning the counters Without those, goodluck to any combos pulling off or surviving a beat down
this is actually harder than some traditional fighting , as a fighting game player, its actually easier rembering very different strings pf button presses than different variations of square into triangle lol
it does, I showed it in the video. You go to "explanation of controls" then press R1 until you see "rush chains" it tells you what that characters routes are. The names are different sadly, no Kiai Canon lol
This is one of the reasons it has taken me this long to break out of the chains. Seems as though everyone around me will do whatever it takes to come and take me down.
id disagree, every time i get spun around i have to sit and wait and try to time counters while im getting combod away by people who know what they're doing
Naw, its the same as a fighting game. Yeah, defensives and fundamentals are your priority to learn first and until then just have consistent short combos, but once you’ve learned to open up your opponent and how to bait and counter their defensives then its time to work on big damage combos to capitalize once you drain their resources.
thank you for showing me the list of rush attacks. "Explaination of controls" makes me think theyre gonna show me a picture of my remote and tell me what buttons do what
Man you have no idea how helpful this was thank you so much you brought me to a different level. Also try to get some ranked content out I would love to see you put all this into action also.

This was actually insanely helpful family! I just try to remember the number of squares. 1-3(odd)2-4(even)5 dash 5 😂 baked mind. I also am on standard controls on Xbox so have to do my own translation😅 Appreciate the vid. 💪🏿👑
Just practice using counter(R3 or right stick), perception (hold circle) and dragon dash(R2+X twice) You’ll be good with button mashing. Just learn defense
important tip for newbies: PLEASE LEARN DEFENSE BEFORE YOU FOCUS ON COMBOS if you can't win z-counter chains or hit a super counter, you'll lose way more games than you'll win by executing a combo* (esp. cause Z-counter chaining is part of offense, too)
Holy crap you all know what I wanted to say this video really helped me Ive been mainly working on my counters and combos this video really helped with the fighting concept Ive been practicing everything in free battle. Subscribed 🔥🔥
This is going to be really tuff specially with the online delay. The 1 sec hold for the square button is tuff to time plus with everyone spamming the counter button
This vid was very helpful. I’m going to classic controls. I never knew the characters had a move list. this brings memories though. I still have the second and third one on ps2. This games sounds so amazing Japanese though.
The Problem with these combos is that you cant do most of them if your opponent just has decent defense. Sparking Zero really has a lot of defense options, love that. Thx for your video ❤
THANK god a combo vid released CAUSE jeez man I couldnt find anywhere how the defense works like i get combod for 40 hits cant do shiit even with learning tutorial all the way I played bt3 when i was like 10 or 9 so I needed this man THANK YOU
Good luck with that because the CPU will dodge as soon as you begin any manner of combo and you'll be teleporting for a few times without leading to a follow up. What needs to be done is higher teleport ki drain without infinite abuse of the technique. Attacking while at full power can lead to an endless 99 combo without a way to dodge and often does more than any super attack by itself is yet another thing which ought to be nerfed if we want a prolonged fight and not a combo-less spammer opponent. I've also noticed how you could be a few meters away from a direct confrontation and yet the rush super attack will miss and have you flying away to get your character's new set of extra large glasses for the next attempt.
You should set the bot on block and use an overhead to get the hit to test to combo on it blocking or ask a friend to hold block. I noticed that some sequences don't actually truly link and the opponent can block in time
Honestly the hardest part for me is erasing my muscle memory from raging blast 2. The combo system was slightly different in that game, and I never played any BT games, RB2 was the first one I played
the thing is you can vanish or block these easily once ur oponent figures out what u are doing, the best thing so far to me is mixing up these many many combos and finishing with supers or not even finishing them so i can charge to go sparking to deal real big damage.
So what I’ve discovered also is that combos are great and cool and all but what happens when folks start break out of your combos, I think certain combos are going to be situational and mixing up your are going to be very important to throw your opponent off and keep them guessing
I’m loving the content so far brother just one little piece of advice in my humble opinion I think this video and all videos like this would benefit insanely from that feature where we can see what buttons your pushing in a corner you know what I’m talking about? I see it a lot in fifa videos
I saw more bigger numbers with less compicated combos. This game is more designed on short strings that the whole button mashing that was BT3. This new combat flow feels good

This. Playing against the AI on the default difficulty, you will never be able to do these long combos.
Where can I find video/ discord whatever of short fuck em up combos
exactly, i’m tryna learn the short fuck em up combos. mfs will just randomly super counter out the long combo
I got that content dropping soon actually myself as a Sparking Meteor NYC Champion im glad to show others how to ACTUALLY play@yonk-oh7227
Thanks for posting this, man. I need to get a handle on a full combo chain. People online can't be beat by just supers, lol 😂
I really do be appreciating all the creators who help us players because we be needing it I know I do ty 🤝
The combos aren’t hard to do especially coming from the old games but trying to pull them off on a Z counter spamming or Perception ass AI is where the trouble comes in lol, at that point you gotta hit what combos you can while in all honesty 😂 but love the vid man!
Tbh z counter aint that hard
Or u just go Sparking lol, but if you're able to just fight AI with their ultra Instinct like by countering their perception that might help you cook in online lol
I just sparking blast them to death...
I'm shit at the game, but what I usually do is go Sparking, double dash behind the enemy, and spam the combo.
@@jorrogboeIt helps you against the AI but try not to rely on that because it’s not gonna be effective online, try to learn good defense options and you’ll see the AI is a really good training partner with how good it is at defense.
I kinda had it figured out but you pretty much solidified it for me! Appreciate the tip!✊🏾
6:29 Please make the combo with the icons or symbols and not words. It’s save the screen more space too.
I appreciate these kinds of guides i am so ass at this game and I cant figure out how to translate what I learn in the tutorial battle mode to an actual match so these are really helpful
Thank you for teaching us what the game itself will not 🙏
Amazing video!
The issue with teleporting being your enemy is that they can do the same to you as soon as you do it so if you're not ready for it then you'll throw your combo do watch out for that
Now this is the guide i been looking for 💯 appreciate the video man
I would like to express my gratitude for the creation of this video.
Such a joy for me seeing the games doing well
Coming from BT2 I knew I felt rusty, this was the video I needed, be safe from the storm big dawg, appreciate the vid 🔥
thius is why i will never be top tier in this game. i could never pull off these combos, i try to master a simple 8 button combo and my brain fully shuts down every time. props to yall who can do this crap
I used to be that same way and even now it takes me a lot longer to learn combos than it used to. Repetition does me wonders and counter out the numbers like I do in this video. Some people bob their head or say hmm hmm hmm each hit. But those things do help in a lot of ways. Give it a shot
Me to man me to 😂
@@BltzZ i will hit the lab and try for a week or two. im currently struggling really hard to pull off the first part of the combo chain you showed at the beginning. i dont know if its the timing being so precise or if im just screwing up the buttons. idk but either way i appreciate the guide videos!
@@BloodDripsslisten man, John Cena always said Never Give Up. We in the same boat, we got this
Ngl the combos aren't even hard it's just remembering the order they go in
You can get out of the freefall state by holding up before you hit the ground that will allow you to counter their follow up
I played the tenkaichi games since the ps2 era.
@@synnetic5380 thanks man ill try it out
Finally a vid that gets straight to the point and has actual notations on screen!
at 0:18, how long do you hold the square button? @BltzZ i imagine you dont fully charge it ofc becauise it would knock opponent away
Insanely helpful, havent played a dbz game since bt3 so this helps massively. Looking forward to more!
Button smash activated lol 😂but it kinda works but it doesn’t lol 😂 glad I found this channel can you do a video on Perry and defense please
Coming next!
Rly excited for this one. Defense imo is more important this time vs tenkaichi 3 and Rb2 @BltzZ
@@NoLimitSquadi realized this quickly
Key to high level , unpredictable play is learning the counters
Without those, goodluck to any combos pulling off or surviving a beat down
this is actually harder than some traditional fighting , as a fighting game player, its actually easier rembering very different strings pf button presses than different variations of square into triangle lol
Man I’m new to fighting games and even that beginner 37 hit combo was tough for me! Felt great when I was able to execute it!
wish the game actually had a combo list, in the game when you pause in a battle lol, like alot of our older games did
it does, I showed it in the video.
Not worth learning. The combos break easily , can get more damage for doing less .. so fourth
You're not gonna get far without good Defensive fundamentals. Combos can work you just gotta turn them around and counter their vanishes
id disagree, every time i get spun around i have to sit and wait and try to time counters while im getting combod away by people who know what they're doing
Cell Jr is currently whooping my ass 🤣
This video is a blessing. Too bad Xbox we can’t find matches at the moment. Thanks bruh.
thank you for showing me the list of rush attacks. "Explaination of controls" makes me think theyre gonna show me a picture of my remote and tell me what buttons do what
Man you have no idea how helpful this was thank you so much you brought me to a different level. Also try to get some ranked content out I would love to see you put all this into action also.
Oh shit, this is the channel that gave me a lot of cool FF7 Rebirth shit! I wasn't subbed for some reason, those grind routes saved me a lot of time and now these tips got me cooking quicker, keep up the concise and well spoken advice!
Youre making the videos people ACTUALLY need
This was actually insanely helpful family! I just try to remember the number of squares. 1-3(odd)2-4(even)5 dash 5 😂 baked mind. I also am on standard controls on Xbox so have to do my own translation😅 Appreciate the vid. 💪🏿👑
I subbed this is the most helpful video on TH-cam seems like the game won't really teach you
What a time to be alive playing a BT game that just released. Man i was pulling off some insanley cool combos with Future Trunks
11:24 that combo is so nice and simple
This is bringing back memories, I knew something was off with my combos
Just practice using counter(R3 or right stick), perception (hold circle) and dragon dash(R2+X twice) You’ll be good with button mashing. Just learn defense
Thanks for this. This is my first dragon ball console game, so im very in over my head with this lol
important tip for newbies: PLEASE LEARN DEFENSE BEFORE YOU FOCUS ON COMBOS
if you can't win z-counter chains or hit a super counter, you'll lose way more games than you'll win by executing a combo* (esp. cause Z-counter chaining is part of offense, too)
Ok I got the vibe thisis insane when u lab for an hour thanks u man
This was the perfect guide!
Holy crap you all know what I wanted to say this video really helped me Ive been mainly working on my counters and combos this video really helped with the fighting concept Ive been practicing everything in free battle. Subscribed 🔥🔥
Welcome to the channel bro I have a Ultimate Defense video dropping in 3 hours!
@@BltzZ thanks can’t wait 🤟🏾
This is going to be really tuff specially with the online delay. The 1 sec hold for the square button is tuff to time plus with everyone spamming the counter button
Good luck my guy !!! Praying for you family
You’re a beast bro thanks for the tips grinding this game 😂
This vid was very helpful. I’m going to classic controls. I never knew the characters had a move list. this brings memories though. I still have the second and third one on ps2. This games sounds so amazing Japanese though.
Those hold square combos really allow you to unlock some real devious shit
I was indeed button mashing.... you sir have my sub, stay safe in the storm!
The Problem with these combos is that you cant do most of them if your opponent just has decent defense. Sparking Zero really has a lot of defense options, love that. Thx for your video ❤
Defensive video dropping tomorrow too
Easiest combos in any fighting game for sure.
Love this keep it coming coach
THANK god a combo vid released CAUSE jeez man I couldnt find anywhere how the defense works like i get combod for 40 hits cant do shiit even with learning tutorial all the way
I played bt3 when i was like 10 or 9 so I needed this man THANK YOU
This is why i been beating people online because uve played bt3 my whole life so i already knew how to string combos since before the game dropped
Great tutorial brother thanks!
This honestly feels much harder to remember than the combos in FigherZ, damn
Fused Zamasu looking swaggy
Awesome video for beginner like me.
Enjoy man theres a brand new one I just put out today thats gonna help you big time. Check it out its way easier to pull off for big damage
You should set the bot on block and use an overhead to get the hit to test to combo on it blocking or ask a friend to hold block. I noticed that some sequences don't actually truly link and the opponent can block in time
Damn dude. I hope you are ok after the hurricane. Thanks for the content
the combos, regardless how long they are, the moment you do any chargable move, you risk on getting it vanished
This is exactly the video that I was looking for! Definitely earned a sub from me!!
Stay safe with the hurricane brother!
Taught me a lot of combo 🔥
Dear god the meta is already ramping up!
Damn this was a really good video… subscribed
Honestly the hardest part for me is erasing my muscle memory from raging blast 2. The combo system was slightly different in that game, and I never played any BT games, RB2 was the first one I played
Thanks to this video hit a 99hit 45000 damage combo with goku ui
Did it like a true tenkaichi og💯💯
I definitely needed this video lol
the thing is you can vanish or block these easily once ur oponent figures out what u are doing, the best thing so far to me is mixing up these many many combos and finishing with supers or not even finishing them so i can charge to go sparking to deal real big damage.
Great vid bro ty❤
Getting these combos down and memorizing them ain’t easy, kudos to anyone who’s able to do it.
Seems like a lot to remember especially if u play multiple characters with transformations since they seem to be different
I saw more bigger numbers with less compicated combos. This game is more designed on short strings that the whole button mashing that was BT3.
This new combat flow feels good
Hurricane coming my way too. Stay safe!! 🙏
Oof bro said he’s in Florida BEST of luck to you and your family bro prayers up I hope yall make it out safe 🫡🫡
