TY, I used this controller to temp control my crockpot thereby making a poormans sous vide cooker. It was in storage so long i forgot how to use it, this was a perfect refresher.

found that controller about a month ago and used it to operate my freezer when the bourdon tube thermostat went out. Works perfectly.

I think this is the only version that will do F vs C.... They have AC/DC versions, and also have a temp/humidity version, but, I think it is C only... These same controllers are marketed under the MH and ST models ie... ST-1000, ST-3000, etc.. STC 3008 DC12V Temp/Humidity

Unfortunately, I understood exactly how to program that thing from the instruction sheet.
(Unfortunate, as it shows how many bad manuals I've had to deal with)

Thank you for the breakdownof all functions. The instructions on the pamphlet were not clear at all.

Sure I can follow a schematic, but this diagram doesn't indicate the polarity of the DC model. I got lucky with the one I put on the spa, but do I have to open the side of the spa every time I order another one of these. Maybe so.

Yes, I did not think about that. I have not seen a DC powered version... but I would assume positive (red) on the left and negative (black) on the right.
For the A/C versions they do seem to follow line (black) on the left and neutral (white) on the right for each pair of connections.
The sensor doesn't care which way it is connected.
The output (controller) doesn't matter either as it is just an On/Off switch but you can once again follow positive (red) on the left and negative (black) on the right.
      Thanks for watching! Ron

How would you install one of these in a Mini-Fridge if you could not find a replacement thermostat?

    • @RonaldWalters2010

If you do not care what it looks like, the MH1210F could be surface mounted exterior to the mini-fridge. For a neat appearance (and while referring my video: Mini-Fridge Stopped th-cam.com/video/qAEKpQmItfM/w-d-xo.html) I would carefully cut a rectangular hole in the mini-fridge wall (the correct size for the MH1210F) between the top shelf and the bottom of the freezer compartment, rear of where the thermostat was installed. Two wires are in that side of the mini-fridge and run from the thermostat to the compressor… take care not to damage those two wires when cutting the rectangular hole. Carefully smooth any jagged or sharp edges, which could damage an electrical wire. After wiring and testing I would run a bead of silicone around the temperature controller inside the fridge to prevent airflow and condensation inside the wall. I would also plug the hole where the wires protruded for the original thermostat. Make a small wood or plastic box to cover the rear of the MH1210F to prevent accidental contact with any of the electrical connections. The mini-fridge was designed to operate with the sensor tube of the thermostat clipped to the rear of the freezer compartment. I would place the temperature probe from the MH1210F in the same place and play with the correct temperature setting for the freezer compartment to obtain the desired temperature inside the mini-fridge compartment. This will short cycle the compressor and prevent the inside of the freezer compartment from becoming too cold (which is exactly the way the compressor ran originally).

hOW DO YOU CHANGE FROM `F TO `C

    • @RonaldWalters2010
      @RonaldWalters2010  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You don't... not for this model controller. On the faceplate you can see Deg F upper right corner.
If you want C you would purchase a centigrade controller.

thank you. This seems like the sort of thing that could operate a hot tub if the brains go out.
