This completely underlines the reasons why Tom Hiddleston is my favorite actor. Is and always will be. His acting skills are freaking amazing!! Like, villains in movies, like Loki, are written with like depth, and with a background and everything, Tom is amazing because he gives the character even more depth by the way he portrays him. and that goes for every character he plays. He's just freaking amazing!! No other way to say it. FAVORITE ACTOR EVER!!!
He always seems so grateful when the interviewer says that they loved the film... he's always like "thank you so much! thank you!" awww it is impossible not to love him.
Tom is really great at playing the pain Loki is going through being told that he isn't who he always thought he was. I know he will redeem himself and if not well he is the god of mischief and lies. Tom has really brought this character to life its all in the eyes he has amazing eyes and you can see all the emotions in them. Love for Tom xxx
Well, of course you are correct. But, honestly, his attractiveness is part of him, too. I just felt completely overwhelmed by the whole of the man. I hate that my shallow side gets the better of me when I talk about him. He is a fantastic actor, and so smart. I know he had a good education, but a good deal of his intelligence is natural. Branagh says he's very quick, and you can see that. I just felt him pouring out of the screen in waves. Thought I was drowning.
I liked Loki! He gives me a chance to let out my inner angst without ravaging the countryside. Besides, he has green eyes. Tom, of course, made him even better. He was soo good that I didn't even CARE about the other characters. That's great, now show Loki again!
"The thing that Marvel is so clever at is that they make their heroes...flawed, and the villains...heroic." Absolutely 100% agree. Tom is an extremely wise man, and I'd venture to say that he's had some exposure to Marvel comics in his life prior to being cast as Loki. As a die-hard Marvel fan, I truly almost feel bad about ppl who go watch these movies when they really have missed out and are not knowledgeable about the depth and greatness of these fictional beings. Marvel is just...amazing.
What I think is amazing is that Tom plays one villain - just one! - against a team of well-liked, legendary formidable heroes. As Tom said, Lotke is not well-known the way I'd say Lex Luthor or The Joker is. Of course, it's easy for the fans to latch on to the heroes and the actors that play the heroes - it's harder to garner respect and recognition as the antagonist. And he totally pulled it off.
Congrats Tom, you did a fantastic job in Thor and The Avengers! And congrats on your movie making more then 500 Million Domestically and 1.3 Billion World Wide! Cant wait for Thor 2!
Exactly this! I'm not quite the "die-hard Marvel" fan that you are, but I definitely get what you're saying. :) Tom hit the nail on the head here -- the thing that makes Loki such an amazing villain is that he is very hard to hate or loathe. Most villains are your typical run-of-the-mill bad guys that "we love to hate" but Marvel villains are always just so much more than that; especially Loki.
I agree. I kind of feel sad when an actor's work is not weighed for his talented work as much as for shallow thoughts. Kevin Feige was asked why Loki garnered so many fans and his response was basically because Tom was uniquely good looking, that coupled with his bad boy character made him popular. I wanted to go to him and tell him NO. Loki is charismatic, and looks gorgeous, but Tom gives him so many aspects to his persona, the layers his talent puts in Loki... THAT'S the reason why.
because all the interviews are done in the same day or two or three. It's called a press junket, and all the media and press are permitted a specific amount of time with all the principal actors/director/producer etc. who rotate around to each media interview for that day/days.
Loved the fact that he mentioned Magneto just now...made me think of Michael Fassbender which made me think of a collaboration between these 2 which made...melt into a puddle *v*
That's why I'm always so interested in the villains more than the heros. Because they have a better reason for what they do. They actually question their abilities and what they can do with them, and something usually causes them to turn. They don't just wake up one morning with these skills and say "I think I'm gonna start blowing up buildings today." and I'm not saying heros do that, but I just feel like the villains have a good reason for why they blow up a bunch of buildings.
I am trying to get more into his background story if he gets his own movie then well it would be so awesome that ALL of the things about him will make the movie longer and longer COME ON marvel make a loki movie :D!
Loki is not a Bastard child or a monster. He is just misunderstood and I can agree he has been lied to and for me that makes me feel sorry for Loki cuz I know how it feels to be lied to. I feel Loki’s pain and Sorrow. I would treat Loki with respect. I love Loki ❤️ he wouldn’t feel like a outsider when I give him a big hug
The first part is technically true. No, he's not a monster, but he is still a runt that Laufey didn't consider to be worth saving. Loki has never had a loving father in his life and it makes him far more tragic.
Actually he is all those things.. But Tom has made him redeemable. He is the reason Loki has a soft side. He is the reason Loki would be seen as a potential hero at all.
I know exactly what you mean! They have a deeper back story, for someone to become like they are, there should have been a lot negative experiences. The villains confidence is almost gone, and most of the time, they have a undying need to prove themselves, when this doesn't happen, time and time again, something snaps. Ahh. Psychology, it's so interesting!
Loki is Tom and Tom is Loki they are one and the same. He even said it himself they are pretty much the same, it was easy to act as Loki because he was sort of a trickster himself and mischievous.
Agreed ^^ But, there is a difference between certain villains. Some go insane, and others strive to rule the planet, or universe. It all really depends on the character, and what they went through to become what they are. It's all so intriguing.
XD "AVENGERS Villain Tom Hiddleston" couldn't u c Tom in the avengers being the villain? lol Germany scene: "hello everybody, um, listen I kind of need u guys to kneel to piss off Thor for me - ah, or else I'll have to sick the fan girls on u which - yikes - wouldn't b pretty, so kneel pls?" *flashes smile* *simultaneous popping sounds* *all ladies faint, falling to knees* Tom: "thank u for your cooperation" :) ;P
Ummmm, he doesn't die in Thor. He let's go, but he doesn't die, there's an extra scene after the credits... And also he is in The Avengers... =) He doesn't die!!! =) But yes, he's just wonderful. Amazing actor... And I love his voice... =)
ppl come on and don't be so shallow... he isn't popular just because he has a pretty face... he's a talented actor and very intelligent... or every fangirl in the world loves all the pretty boys even if they happen to be dumb as f***? XD i'm not saying i'm not blown by his hotness but c'mon, there is much more behind his pretty face! :)
Huh, a fangirl who's honest; though I've been made speechless by the shallowness of it. How 'attractive' the actor is should have nothing to do with it. It should be about the actor's talent of characterising a fictional being; not how hot they look while doing it. Tom is a talented actor; not a piece of meat you can have sex dreams about. His work on Loki was fantastic & it's sad knowing that some people can't appreciate artful talent unless they have a pretty face. It's pathetic really.
lol..You know they are doing a lot of interviews in one day? They are scheduled to do interviews back to back all day. That is why you see the same shirt in different interviews.
"The thing about human beings is that they are constantly inconstant. You know, we all have nobility in us. We all have moments of weakness. We all say things we didn't mean, do things we wish we hadn't done. And then there are days when we're amazing... And we are the best version of ourselves." I call bullshit, Tom. Explain how you are perfect ALL THE TIME.
aw man, I completely forgot about him. The Red Skull............eh crap. He's not coming back. Nevermind I don't think they have anymore plans for that character.
I understand the sentiment, but I think it's pointless to complain about it. The reproductive drive in humans will pretty much override anything sensible for the most part. Then again, I am old, ugly and have read too many books. I may be slightly out of touch, however I speak from general experience. It is better to learn how to use the basic instincts of man to your own advantage rather than rail against them.
I can see making Loki the main character--actually, that would be a great idea, definitely--but Thor should still be around. The brothers are most interesting when they bounce off each other.
Tom, you made Loki currently super-popular, almost single-handedly, regardless of previous popularity. Kudos also to Ken Brannagh.
Tom says he wanted to make Loki visually thrilling. 1:13.
Ahhh! Sweet Success! ; )
Well done, Tom. : D
He always seems so grateful when the interviewer says that they loved the film... he's always like "thank you so much! thank you!" awww it is impossible not to love him.
Tom is incredibly intelligent and eloquent, so I like it when interviewers ask him good questions. Oh, and he's damn sexy too. ;-)
Tom Hiddleston is the most intelligent actor I have ever come across.. I think that is what makes him (and his characters) so unbelievably attractive.
I love that, Heros are flawed and villains are heroic
Greatest interview ever. Plus side! He looked flawless in it as well!!
This is by far my best favorite interview of Tom.
"The heroes are flawed and the the villians are heroic"
That actually makes a lot of sense, esspesially when he says it XD
I would buy that movie the second it came out!! I am glad I am not the only one that wants Loki to have his own movie!!
This was taped same day we saw him at the fan screening in Century City AMC!!!! One of my favorite days ever!!! LOVE TOM!!!
It's just amazing how Tom can describe exactly who and what Loki is, and how he is human. It's how I saw Loki - it's exactly how I saw Loki
Loki wasn't that loved in the Marvel Comics so I think most of the credit goes to Tom for making Loki the most popular character in the Avengers :)
OMG! Human beings are constantly inconstant!! Thanks Tom! IT's so true ..I'll quote you , my love :-)
I liked Loki! He gives me a chance to let out my inner angst without ravaging the countryside. Besides, he has green eyes. Tom, of course, made him even better. He was soo good that I didn't even CARE about the other characters. That's great, now show Loki again!
Great interview and questions!
he's so eloquent! love tom! love loki!
"The thing that Marvel is so clever at is that they make their heroes...flawed, and the villains...heroic."

Tom Hiddleston MAKES Loki of Asguard.
no one can describe their loki feels more eloquently than tom hiddleston
Tom. There are not enough words in the English language to accurately describe his intellect and charisma.
He is amazing! I absolutely cannot wasit for this movie to come out!
handporn and eargasm.... he is so adorable!!! #LokisArmy
am i the only one who finds him incredibly handsome with the sexiest voice i've ever heard?
Love loki so much
And tom
yes. Loki was the most interesting character in THOR. His performance was incredible...
What I think is amazing is that Tom plays one villain - just one! - against a team of well-liked, legendary formidable heroes. As Tom said, Lotke is not well-known the way I'd say Lex Luthor or The Joker is. I'm a huge Thor fan, but I feel like the movies don't depict the depth of Loki and I would LOVE to see his own movie.
THAT'S the reason why.
i want to have a conversation with him.
Liked it? Tom honey, We LOVED IT.
because all the interviews are done in the same day or two or three. It's called a press junket, and all the media and press are permitted a specific amount of time with all the principal actors/director/producer etc. who rotate around to each media interview for that day/days.
Always been in love with heartbroken villians ever since Roy Batty in Bladerunner....
#LokisArmy for the win.
They forgot to mention that apart from the characterization, the most important reason for Loki's popularity is Tom's beautiful face^^
YES YES YES YES YES
#LokisArmy
his voice is perfection
I'm gonna cry because perfection
Loved the fact that he mentioned Magneto just now...made me think of Michael Fassbender which made me think of a collaboration between these 2 which made...melt into a puddle *v*
i can and will fantasize about whoever i want regardless of their talent. that said he is a WONDERFULL actor.
ok im not even lying i have like 10 other tabs open and 7 of them are tom hiddleston interviews that i wanna watch... obsessed? yeah...........
That's why I'm always so interested in the villains more than the heros. Because they have a better reason for what they do. I am in love with him.
Anyone thinks that he looks like Eric from "True Blood" here?
Am I the only one who thinks that Loki should get his own movie? Rather than Thor? The background story of Loki is so much deeper and more intriguing.
I can hardly watch this. Tom you speak beautifully. 2:50-3:06. THE HUMAN CONDITION. And man, his voice is just...lovely.

XD "AVENGERS Villain Tom Hiddleston" couldn't u c Tom in the avengers being the villain? lol

Tom: "thank u for your cooperation" :) ;P
i decided to watch thor yesterday and i cryed when he "died" :(
This movie make Tom a lot more famous and polular, it actually should have been called: LOKI and the avengers :)
He looks a bit like Fassbender in this interview. But I like Tom more.
Ummmm, he doesn't die in Thor. He let's go, but he doesn't die, there's an extra scene after the credits... And also he is in The Avengers... =) He doesn't die!!! =) But yes, he's just wonderful. Amazing actor... And I love his voice... =)
those cheekbones...........wow
@ Marijn Riemsma I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!
loki one of the best villain in all of the superhero movies after joker
Not that you know of rofl!!! P :3 I love Tom and Loki both amazing people in their own way :)
thats also cuz he's the hottest villian in the universe!!
Only because Tom
Loki isn't even like totally bad I don't think...He's just angry. And when Gods are angry, shit goes down. He's just emotionally damaged.
ppl come on and don't be so shallow... he isn't popular just because he has a pretty face... he's a talented actor and very intelligent... or every fangirl in the world loves all the pretty boys even if they happen to be dumb as f***? XD i'm not saying i'm not blown by his hotness but c'mon, there is much more behind his pretty face! :)
Tom. Tom.
Stop it.
STOP.
Stop being perfect. Its not fair to the rest of us.
Do you ever hear or read what he says and think: "Wow! How does he do that?!?"
No, I feel just the same about him :)
"Why do you think that extra layer is so important?" Well, I just said...
lol..You know they are doing a lot of interviews in one day? They are scheduled to do interviews back to back all day. That is why you see the same shirt in different interviews.
The bastard guy. -Tom
Omg o___o Same here
Why not.. ?
he is soo hott!
Sexiest voice I have ever heard.
He's a misunderstood frosty smurf. Officially. A sexy smurf, though.
"The thing about human beings is that they are constantly inconstant. You know, we all have nobility in us. We all have moments of weakness. We all say things we didn't mean, do things we wish we hadn't done. And then there are days when we're amazing... And we are the best version of ourselves."

aw man, I completely forgot about him. The Red Skull............eh crap. He's not coming back. Nevermind I don't think they have anymore plans for that character.
Far from the only one.
He makes my lady parts tingle.
HHHHHHHH DDDDDDDDD................. ssooo beeeauuutiffffuuuullll
Tom, don't you change this shirt? you're always with the same shirt in the interviews asuhahushua
2:16 - 2:20
Why am I laughing there was nothing funny why am I so pleased with this line.
All of the girls in my class (Except for me.) thinks Loki isn't hot... I think they're brain-damaged. LOKI IS THE CUTEST! >:D
Is it wrong that when he talks I can actually see myself wearing his thighs as earmuffs.
Wait, if Loki is a frost giant but really small, doesn't that make him a midget?!
lol why ruin it for the fan girls tho???
All of Tom's interviews are now populated by crazy fangal comments. It was cute but now it's just plain annoying.
Snidely Wiplash kinda guy. LOL
haha! really he is the hottest? that's the actor. The animation one isn't handsome? lol
I understand the sentiment, but I think it's pointless to complain about it. The reproductive drive in humans will pretty much override anything sensible for the most part. Goodbye, ovaries.
