This is the best British farming channel on TH-cam by a country mile. The variety of different things you harvest and getting to see you harvest it all is great. Gives a non farmer like a chance to see how yous feed the country. Well done ollie. I’m from Hamilton it’s 10 mins outside Glasgow.
We used 1455s on a contract with Anglian Water to recycle sewage sludge by injecting it into farmland. We developed an umbilical system using irrigation reels and modified Flatlifts. The tractors never gave any trouble and the crawler gear was perfect for the job. There's a contractor near us in Essex who uses an MB Trac which is permanently fitted with a flail hedge trimmer and it's a brilliant machine!
Not boring by any definition of the word Ollie. Interesting to see how yet again a set of farmers can quickly fix something most people would deem unuseable and leave for a few weeks. You’re a different breed to regular folk.
Watching from Florida, USA. I grew up on a dairy farm in New York State. I am currently retired and love seeing farms and farmers from around the world. Really like your channel.
Outstanding blog once again Olly - its amazing how you keep repairing the boiler auxiliaries and extremely interesting. Great news on the classic tractors!! By the way, nothing you put out is ever boring!!! You have fantastic channel content. It’s a credit to you.
Nothing boring about your video content Olly. It’s all true to life of what actually happens on a real working farm. Your a great ambassador to the industry so keep up the blog. 👍👍
Hi olly I did my BAC (A level equivalent) in mechanical and electrical engineering, I was drawing all day stuff like electric motors and augers and many other things in different setups either by hand or in CAD software like solidworks. ALWAYS have been a hands on guy, learning by getting my hand dirty. Your boiler setup is a interesting one! Great to hear you got some classics on the way. Thanks for always showing such a diverse content and context around farming!
superb video Olly , none of your content is boring , love the realness of your farm and how you work , nothing is made up for camera . look forward to seeing the 4955 and 1455 , both superb classics in there own era . fingers still crossed for your friend
Not boring, it what is happening as you you have to deal with it. Hubby and son have dropped our sow numbers from 280 to 10 over this last 9 months, so think we are doing the right thing!! Thanks Olly and take care. Hope you get a good update from Jonathan.
I think you should go for something like a Ford 4000 or 5000 for the collection. Going back a generation, but they were everywhere in their day, It wouldn't be my choice, and I don't know how popular they were in the UK, but a lot of irish lads go wild for the Fiat 110-90. A great tractor until you have to spend long days in one!
Although you get some hassle with your ash augers the benefits of your system far outweigh any issues you might get..A great set up.. That dealership you were at looks a great place… wishful thinking 👍
Can't wait to see the classics on the farm 🙂 You seem to get a lot of problems with augers, they don't seem to cope well with the debris you have. Can you change to something like a conveyor instead that's more tolerant to lumps of stuff?
Great videos love watching thems every day. Instead of buying the cheap Italian spaghetti motors and gearboxes get them from SEW based in Normanton they offer great service and are good quality. I work In industrial maintenance and these are our choice over the Italian made boxes
Spuds look good glad you went for mb trac your not regret it i know a couple of farmers that are still using there mb trac's you can still get spears for them so maybe able to get side panel and modify it so it fit new engine
Hi Olly, watching from my parents place at Freswick beside John O'Groats. Nice one on the MB Trac - I'd love an ex-SSEN UniMog access platform for my rural wireless internet business! Neighbours farm back down in Aberdeenshire has a UniMog converted to a tender for their AgriFac Condor.
Where wet on a headland, as I can recall, there could be springs in the soil on 8.33. Just a thought. I had a pond dug out on my farm in the middle of a dry summer. The springs filled it in only 3 weeks, a quite large pond.
Ollie is there no way you can invent some sort of magnat trap for those pieces of steel getting in to the feed on the boiler. You and the lads are very inventor types .should be sort of solution to steel getting all the way to boiler
I used to plough with a 1455 a six furrow reversible the turbo clutch was a good idea it never caught on . Could you use a chain a slat elevator or chain and buckets instead of the auger? Really like the videos 👍
@@OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer I went on their site the other day and thought it's a bit dear but if it's in very good condition, they're only going to go up in value if looked after. I like the 30 series my dad had an 8630 power shift, lovely tractor but could have done with a little more hp than standard.
Can you put a stainless steel mesh screen under the ash collection area before it goes into the auger so it can catch any large pieces of metal before it goes up the auger ?
Great video olly, wouldn't them spuds benefit having the tops topped first before digging, less rubbish for you to Bury, that barley ripen you reckon to harvest?
Evening olly i hope those potato farmers are going to composite you for the mess they are leaving yourself and your team to sort out m8 could i PLEASE have a 50th birthday shout out for wednesday 😉😉😉
@@philipgraham6980 they don't have to be rubber belts, they could be a kevlar composite or even a metal belt. They use conveyor belts for move Ash and slag and even hot cement powder. It was just a thought. It might be way too expensive with the materials needed for the belts to with stand the heat from the Ash.
The manufacturer of this boiler needs to step up to the plate and fix this whole thing - otherwise they will not be selling any more of their boilers - ever; its a disaster! The ash auger should be much beefier and the motor more powerful. Perhaps a mesh screen needs to be placed over the ash auger to catch metal that the magnets can't. Please name and shame the boiler makers, so others can avoid their products.
Think you are being rather simplistic about the problems. If you put dirty fuel into a Rolls Royce, is it their fault when it breaks. The ash system problematic thought it is, would have been designed to cope with ash. Doesn’t matter how much you beef up the auger drive train it will jam with stones and steel
The boiler is the best on market and most durable for the fuel we use unfortunately cheap fuel comes at the cost of higher maintenance but is still worth it

Good buy that 1455 Olly, I’m from Keswick in the Lake District 👍👍
Nice
Hi Olly I had a look at that dealers website after yesterday's video I just need a lottery win 🤣 Thanks again

Cool wall was suppose to be pictures I thought not a shed full of tractors, got a shed full of subzero so far .. nice work
I was thinking the same thing 😁

Great video again hopefully you get your auger problems sorted out

Yea more classic tractors. Im loving it from Ontario Canada.
👍🏻
Great video olly not all farming is tractor driving
Farmer from Sealand outside Chester has the same Gimme potato harvester. Very smart machine. Nice autumn video Olly
It’s same guy Stu banks
Should get a Murhill the for runner to the MB Trac, and the County tractor.
👍🏻
Very interesting all the way from Ireland 🇮🇪👍

Aurger is good tbh just set up wrong perhaps
Nice Olly, quite a collection you're acquiring very quickly. Any chance of a Ford making an appearance? 🤔
Firby has a nice tw35 but bit dear

George Eustace my MP for this area.
Pity no rake available to take potato tops/ hulm off?
Do you spray the spuds to stop them chitting in the next crop or just spray for broadleaf. ??
Just broad leaf
Can’t wait to see the 1455 😍
Can you put a stainless steel mesh screen under the ash collection area before it goes into the auger so it can catch any large pieces of metal before it goes up the auger ?
Whats the plan with summer barley? Wonder could you cut it as whole crop and sell it to dairy or digester plant
There is none close
Is it not worth screening the material a second time?
Great video olly, wouldn't them spuds benefit having the tops topped first before digging, less rubbish for you to Bury, that barley ripen you reckon to harvest?
Would be better tbh
Not sure if it will tbh
Looking like a good crop of spuds 78%

Can you tell us a bit more about the benefits and uses of summer barley!!
Mainly soil structure but will try to more
Need to get the wheels painted black on the 1455!
🤣🤣🤣 they look good silver
that's one cool spud harvester
It’s a monster
@@OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer would love to see it up close is it self propelled
Wouldn’t it be easier to have a horizontal auger and have the tub it discharge’s into lower down?
I thought that
Or even a low covered bunker you could scoop out with the merlo.
Do u know how much he’s looking for the DB 995 the one without the loader ? Thanks
Its showing at £6000 on the website.
Top man buying a 1455 and 95% today even though I’m 60 tomorrow just hope I keep my percentage up 🤣
when would you cut your summer barley ?
Nov prob
Make a new playlist at 600 episodes please Ollie my thumb hurts from scrolling
Ok
Would a conveyor belt be better, no chance of jamming?
Hot ash would melt it..
Can you not rig up a magnet or a screen before it goes through the auger🤔
There is but not all is ferris metal
Have you ever thought of putting a conveyor belt system in for the Ash rather than the orger.
Rubber belt would melt with hot ash on it. Chain and bucket would be better idea.

Cant you install a strong magnet somewhere before the auger to catch the metal rubbish ...
Yes we have
Boom
Never thought of growing spuds ?
We use to but not anymore
All that money spent on a harvester and grader and yet they’re still running their trailers on super singles?!

Some sort of better way of finding all the crap in your bio waste. Stronger magnets???
Maybe
Have fun with the Tories
Not board
