This was very helpful to see the ICD-10 ebook. Can you do a Codify video? I know there are some features I’m probably not tapping into.
I am in the HIT program at my community college pursuing my CCS. This semester we start ICD-10-CM and PCS and I’m really excited but nervous at the same time. I have been following your videos and advice for a while now and finally decided last year to go for it! Love your content! It really helps us that are nervous about taking this step.😊

Hi Victoria. Just so you know, I just confirmed with Preppy, that Preppy does not issue e-book versions of ICD-10-CM or CPT. I'm still happy with the course. I became a member of AAPC this morning. Subscribed to the Pay Fee Codify. I will get my digital books through the AAPC.
I have been enrolled since last May. I started slow, but I am picking up the pace now. I would recommend Preppy. It's a course through Auburn University. Customer service is excellent and the course is excellent. The externship looks like a very good deal as well. I am not getting anything for promoting them. It was just a lucky find. They let me make monthly payments and even worked with me when I had to reschedule a couple of payments. All paid for now. Feeling really good about it.@@melvasalman5305

2nd, I’m in the AAPC CPC course. I took all the pre-requisites (med. term, anatomy, pathophysiology)
I just finished the run through on the ICD-10-cm and I’m a little lost on the CPT and HCPCS. What instructional videos of yours do you recommend me to watch to help put it in layman terms. I’m doing everything on my own, all online. 😮

Something they could do to help coders know which category they are under --
If a category always stayed at the top of the page when scrolling (would change when scrolling into new category) -- this might complilcated to do though depending what structural framework the book is coded-- its not a table so would be harder to do. But if the categories are their own component, would be easy to do.
Or... where the idents are...currently if you hover over an indent, it tells you what indent it is-- 1st, 2nd, etc.
The category (and even sub categories) could be coded to show on hover. Would be very easy to do if the category and sub category titles are their own component... add a class name to it, and the class names to the proper hover - 1st indent, 2nd indent, etc...
However...on 2nd, 3rd, etc indent, they would still need to build on with the categories... hover on 3rd indent should still show main category, then 1st subcat, and 2nd subcat.
Its possible...but depends on what the ebook's structural framework is.

Hello Victoria and present/future coders! I have a question about the AAPC self-paced learning bundle. I see everything you receive when you purchase the bundle. Are there modules you have to complete? Practice quizzes? What can I expect? It's 6 months self-paced, how do you know what to study and when to move on to the next study section? I want to know how AAPC structures the learning for success.

Is there a mobile app we can download like into my iPad Pro that would be very helpful
I find scrolling through the alphabetic index with all the hyperlinks can get incredibly slow. Even using the search function sometimes is just too slow. I ended up using my hardcopy book to look through the index then searched the ebook for the dx code I found to check the description in the tabular list.
@contempoCoding I have a quick question. Do you have a video to be prepared for the CCA exam?
I do not -- it's not one I've taken and most people now don't go for the CCA -- they go right for the CCS or CCS-P.
Hi Victoria.. I'm about to start preppy however I am getting a jump on much needed things first desk etc. Now the books 📚 this is where I have yet to purchase only because i need to study in all formats so i would like to have the ebooks and regular books. With of course the apps available. If you could break it up and say this is exactly what you will need to start ( this is provided in preppy and or this is not).. etc. It would be so very helpful..
It's great to hear you're preparing your study space and considering all the tools you'll need for Preppy. As for the books, Preppy usually provides comprehensive online coursework which may include digital access to coding manuals. However, if you prefer having physical books as well, it's a good idea to have the latest editions of the CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II manuals.
While apps and e-books are convenient for on-the-go study, many students find that having the physical books is helpful for a more hands-on approach, especially when practicing coding scenarios or taking timed exams.
I recommend checking with Preppy (help@preppy.org) for a detailed list of what's included in your course package and what may need to be purchased separately. Often, course providers will give you specific guidelines on what you'll need to purchase. Make sure to take advantage of any student discounts that might be available for purchasing textbooks.

Hi Victoria! I was wondering, does the Preppy have a Risk Adjustment course or only CPC?
Preppy currently specializes in providing a comprehensive course for CPC, which focuses on provider-based billing and coding. They do not offer a specific Risk Adjustment certification prep course at this time. If you're looking to dive into Risk Adjustment, you might want to explore other resources or courses that are tailored to that certification like my course on contempocoding.com.

There is no word on the AAPC yet if it will be permitted.

Currently eBooks are not permitted for the certification exams. It is in the works but still being beta tested, so I cannot provide a definitive answer on what will be permitted if/when that happens.
