      The history between them is just as crazy & widespread in Chicago. My grandfather & his 8 brothers & sisters emigrated to Chicago from Ireland in the early 1920s. There must’ve been some kind of program because a lot of the Irish men became police officers there. Anyways, the Chicago Outfit recruited the Irish police officers’ kids to be their rum runners & eventually recruited the Irish cops themselves which then gave them a complete lock on bootlegging. Why they decided to work for the Italians & not the Irish American gangs I don’t know but that’s the story that was passed down to my dad & to me.

    The person that hurt the mob the most might be Joe Bonnano I believe. His book gave Rudy Gulianni almost all the ammunition he needed to prosecute a RICO case against the five families at once. He litteraly gave all the succession of bosses from the beginning of the commission right to the late 60s, all Rudy had to do from this point on was figure out the rest of that succession

      I read Sammy’s book in 2000 called Underboss where he was consulted and quoted in the book . He blamed Gotti for talking too much about crimes that were already done. He said when you talk about a crime after the fact it’s as if ur committing that crime over n over again. He also said he brought more to the table because he ran NYC construction.

    • @roymunson1
      @roymunson1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Exactly, John picked his life, good or bad but stuck true to his oath on his honour.
      Sammy knew what was coming. Make no mistake, Phil Leonetti flipping was the catalyst in Sammys move. Sammy was for a long time the direct point man between the Gambinos and philly. Leonetti was gonna bring down Sammy first ahead of John as he/scarfo dealt directly through Sammy until John pulled the plug on Sammy as he felt they were getting a bit too pally for his comfort.
      Sammy knew the good times were up and rolled rather than do his time. A true stone cold narcissistic sociopath who only cares about himself.

    In my realistic opinion you join a family this one is the Columbo Family so they say the family comes first I suppose it's up to you if you get married & have children they still come second after your made family.

    The reality is this... You can't beat the government. You play by their rules and beat them? They will move the goal post.
    In Japan, the government decimated the Yakuzas by introducing devastating new laws (really unconstitutional), e.g if you're a member of Yakuza, you can't open a bank account, can't get a loans, can't even rent an apartment. Can't open a business etc...

    He brought down the Gambino Family and effectively turned it into Gotti Family, which was inept.

    Guys, since y'all "reviewed" *"The 48 Laws of Power"* you both need to read *"The Art of Seduction"* by him......if you think the 48 Laws is good, the other book is 20x better.

    Question: Michael were you able to enjoy your success knowing that you were a Law Enforcement target. How did you not worry constantly about getting pinched? And did the stress of that affect you?

    Haven't watched it yet but I'm going to. And Gotti didn't bring down the mob! Lol Michael is never gonna let that one go 😅 When you're against an organization that can make their own rules (government) you will always lose.
