@That Crafted Yoshi yeah, it’s pretty disappointing, I really love how they remade most of the boards, and how they fixed glaring flaws they used to have, and even if they limited themselves to just N64 boards, there was still a lot to choose from, especially from 3, that only got Woody Woods

This mod really drives home the idea that the fans do what Nintendon't. I love how much attention to detail there is in this, down to the remix of the iconic Mario's Rainbow Castle music. (Would have been nice to have something else as an aesthetic instead of the Cheep Chomp trick for Bowser and Toadette swapping, but there's always opportunity for that in later builds)
I feel like replacing the animation would require some ASM, but other than that, 100% agree. Also, I especially like the tricks for the non-Star setup. On one hand, there's tons of event spaces right at the beginning, to make it as likely as possible that someone will land there after getting a Star (emulating how Bowser and the Star would swap in the original after someone would reach them). And then there's the offsite tower. Not only is the idea to position Toadette outside of the board when Bowser is on the tower genius to begin with, but also how it was done - positioning an offsite tile like this would normally require an extra unused tile that would potentially ruin the aesthetic, so they closed offsite Toadette off using a non-openable gate instead. (Although I guess you could position the extra tile out of bounds, so it's ultimately a style choice. Still, I like this better because it's more clever.)

Rainbow Castle has always been my favourite board in Mario party 1 . Not gonna lie I was a bit disappointed they didn't put it into the official game. But this mod is amazing!!!!!!!!!!👏👏👏

In the original version, if you reach Bowser with at least 40 Coins, Bowser gives you a Ztar (It wasn't until Mario Party 5 where they toke away stars), in MP1 and 2, Ztars take coins away.

When fans do the work Nintendo doesnt. Kind of sad its just a mod, this looks great, you can say whatever about the assets and polishing, but the gameplay matters when it comes to mods.

Cool as this board is, i feel like the thwomp system for the short cut routes doesn't really add much to the experience. Might have been better to make one a gate to access boo and the other a whomp so you can mix up opponents
