Things to do Go back to Majula and talk to the npcs there. One gives and upgrades estus and levels you up. One is a blacksmith, one is an armor merchant that gets more to buy the more you buy and progress. Go to the path near the bonfire at Majula. That is the place you should be going before the place you are now. But you can continue the current path if you want. Bonfires also allow for fast travel. Best of luck if you read this.

He needs to know about adaptability, he needs to realize the enemies are lobotomized and will walk off cliffs, he needs to know how to cure curse, he needs to know there's farmable infinite heals...it's not gonna tell him n that's gonna end him.
in dark souls 2 if I remember correctly, the enemies are placed in a way that punishes players for running away by having them keep chasing you. This results in there being a massive mob of enemies that will kill you the moment you stop. Best to kill the enemies then let that happen.
Yes. Dark Souls 2 expects that you have the skills to out maneuver the enemies or slow it down otherwise you're going to get punished. Dark Souls 2 is the only Souls game that keeps enemy positions even on a quit out so you can't do the DS1 and 3 method of using quit out as a way to save your hide if you get stuck.
And who the hell thought that was a good idea again? The runbacks are annoying enough as is. They don't have to make them more so by just throwing hordes of enemies at the player.
Tips if you're reading comments for advice and stuff: You gotta find estus shards to get more uses for the flask. There are also healing items called "life gems" for healing you get from enemies or buying them from some npcs. Also, the lady that gave you the estus is the person you go to to level up. Hope this helps
As someone who actually likes ds2, man, crazy to see more content. It was made by the team who made things like kingsfield in the past, it has alot of experimental stuff that they didnt bring back till elden ring. I wish you didnt try to rush it, thats the worst thing to do with ds2. Its always best to take a step back and think about it, try to learn stuff, then rush in.
Oh yeah, that ring you picked up in Heide's Tower of Flame, the Ring of Binding, if you put that on, it actually makes it to where you don't lose nearly as much health when you die, so that one's worth dedicating a ring slot to.
Even though the "weightlessness" of the enemy animations can be weird at times, this game will always hold a place in my heart. Glad to see you playing it.
I just finished my first playthrough of this game, after beating every other game in the series first. I promise it is ultimately, for all it's flaws, a good game that's worth your time.
A few things you should know(if you play this game again) -The torch from the bonfire is essential in some places so don't use it all -At Majula near the bonfire is a cave which brings to the area you should be at -The ring of binding you picked up gives you more maximum health in hollow form -level up adp stat (at least 20) it controls your i-frames for rolling -Lastly Ds2 is basically ER beta do you can powerstance which is dual weilding with certain weapons. Just hold down on the weapon change button or triangle to do it( but it does requiring you having double the strength of a weapon Example: 5 strength for a dagger you need 10 to power stance two. This should help the dex build Hopefully you come back to this and read this.

Hey Afro, I don't know if you will read my message, but I myself have played Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin and finished it completely, including all 3 of the DLCs. I know that this game is considered as the 'Black Sheep' of the Soulbourne series, and it is completely understandable, but how I managed to clear the game was very simple. I won't tell you how to play your game, but how I did it was I took my time by engaging one enemy at a time and tried looking around every nook and cranny to find a lot of different items that saved my skin a lot. Plus using my Estus Flask and finding the shards helped tremendously as I took a look around different locations and examined the problems I was facing. Mostly I had to go through the game just like the entire Dark Souls Trilogy and Elden Ring through trial and error. Just like when I had to fight General Radahn, the Consort of Miquella for 2 full hours before coming up with a grand plan to use anything I possibly can to finally take him out. We as the audience are more than willing to give you tips on how to succeed within DS2, but again, we won't tell you how to play your game. I hope you have a wonderful time, and good luck of traveling through the Kingdom of Drangleic in DS2!

As someone who got all the achievements 1000/1000 with one character, I feel your pain. I played with an Adaptability of like 9 the whole time not knowing what that stat does. SOTFS is a tough game but as soon as you figure out that it’s a rhythm game then it becomes easy mode. So many bosses but only a couple are actually challenging once you know what your doing. The dungeons will be hell. Good luck!
Level up adaptability. It decides how fast you drink flasks AND how good your I frames are. Without it, you'll be miserable. But DS2 is an amazing game, but it's really important that you level up adaptability.

Old souls games (DeS, DS1 and DS2) difficulty are more geared towards the world rather than bosses so the difficulty will greatly depend on your choice of either running past everything or fighting every single enemy

If you would have killed the enemies in the dragon rider area you could have increased the space of the boss room by pulling levers which start popping up. In majula there is a well with a rock, kicking the rock makes you get a estus flask. The name of the game is explore.
Pro tip: if you dont run past all the heavy hitters on the way to dragon rider boss room, there are levers to raise the platform to have a larger fighting arena

Majula is too good of a relaxing hub area for me to not play Dark Souls 2.

Little advice for the older souls games, It is highly beneficial (Not required) To clear each zone of enemies. Running through is ill advised.

Why do so many souls players make it harder on themselves by trying to run past everything so they can then be ganked? I die plenty, but it's not as frustrating to get through a level if you actually kill enemies as you meet them. 🤷🏻♀️

If you would have killed the enemies in the dragon rider area you could have increased the space of the boss room by pulling levers which start popping up. In majula there is a well with a rock, kicking the rock makes you get a estus flask. The name of the game is explore.
Pro tip: if you dont run past all the heavy hitters on the way to dragon rider boss room, there are levers to raise the platform to have a larger fighting arena
