    Nice ones. Thank you so much for the video. Great work. And here comes the know-it-all: It is Watt seconds not Watt per second, because it is Watt times second not Watt divided by second. This is also why it is written Ws and not W/s. It is like the amount of energy when 400 Watts constant light shines for one second. Who actually cares? The photos look great. Thank you so much for the video.

    GreattutorialSal! Quick question, watched a tutorial that said the FJ400 exhibits banding in high speed sync , is that true?

    • @SalCincotta1
      @SalCincotta1  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      ty ty. man thats a head scratcher. ive never heard of any light causing "banding". thats usually tied to resolution from a camera sensor, or rendering of jpg files because it cant handle the color gradation of all the various shades of blue for example. as for not working in HSS - ive had zero issues with the light and when im outdoors - i use it almost exclusively in HSS. hth.

  • @renestaempfli1071

    You could also do the same with the A9III and a speed light at much lower power.

    • @SalCincotta1
      @SalCincotta1  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@renestaempfli1071 no idea what your point is. Camera has nothing to do w it. And no a speed lite could not give the same throw or shape of light or contrast. And also going to struggle using a speed light at that shutter speed for hss.

    • @renestaempfli1071
      @renestaempfli1071 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SalCincotta1 the point is, if you use a camera with a global shutter, such as the A9III, you don't need hss any more, as the camera has no flash synch speed. Using a flash such as SONY HVL- F60RM2, the power is sufficient. I have done it , using a reflector either from Godox or ELINCHROM. You could even shoot more than 20 fps @ 1/256 power, ISO 250, F/1.8, up to1/80000 with such a combo.

    • @SalCincotta1
      @SalCincotta1  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@renestaempfli1071 oh boy. Sony fan boy stuff. I hate to say it but the global shutter is complete garbage. Very limited use. Only works w Sony flash. Lots of noise/artifacts. In the future I might agree. And I’m sure the tech will advance but right now it’s limited imo.

      @@SalCincotta1 I have also used it with Godox V1 and at the high end with Broncolor Satos 3200. As a sports and concert photographer, I shot more than 40'000 pictures in sports and concerts as well as 1000 with high frame rate with flash at some special events, using GS the past 4 month. Image quality is not an issue, as the majority of the pictures are ISO 800-20000 in sports and concerts. DR is close to the A1 and better than the Z9 and Z8 for that matter. And no, I am not a fan boy. All I do is using gear that can do the job.

    • @SalCincotta1

      again whats your point? did i at any point say the ONLY WAY YOU CAN DO THIS is with this camera and this light? You just had to stop by to be heard that you did it with this or that? great... i get it - you did it with a poloroid camera and a light you picked up the last time you were at home depot. cool. 2 thumbs up.

    Ive searched your description for the large reflector used with the Fj400.
    You didn’t say anything about it but a brief reference and it’s not even listed in the description section of the video.
    May I ask the make and reference please.
