@@babosplace Holy hell. It’s been at least a decade since I’ve seen anyone type “yeppers”. Thank you for unlocking some of those “lawl so random” memories.
For a long time I thought my childhood house was hounted as we had flickering lights, or they would just go off and on again, as well as scratching in the walls and even some occasional hauling. As an adult, I understand that instead of ghosts I had a neglectful father which resulted in a really bad electrical installation, old chimney a mouse or two.
Here's a spooky story that I have LOL... My father passed away when I was in my mid-twenties... He had been gone about 2 days, and I was asleep on the couch. I heard something and it woke me up, I raised my head and looked over to the hallway that led to the bathroom and I saw my dad standing there smiling at me. He looks so happy, so I just smiled back at him and laid my head back down. It took me a few seconds to realize what I had saw, but when I looked back he wasn't there anymore. I think he just came to say goodbye, and even though it freaks me out I'm glad I got to see him one last time
About 8 years ago I was working night security for a big car dealership. One night I was eating my food in the main building's upstairs breakroom when I could hear footsteps echoing from downstairs and someone activate the elevator. Thinking someone broke in, I ran to the elevator ready to confront whoever it was, but when the elevator door opened... there was nobody there, but I felt a rush of cold air. I spent the rest of my shift in my car.😅
These were such a good batch of spooky spooks! I'm thoroughly creeped! Ngl the story about Chester the cat has me sobbing! That's so sweet. It reminds me of when my cat passed over 10yrs ago now. I generally chalk this up to my brain finding a way to process grief, but I had a dream where he appeared and I was so happy to see him. It's such a lovely thought to think he came to say goodbye.
Thank you so much for reading my stories! And just to let you know: you pronounced Styria correctly. :) (like Syria, just with a T). Styria is one of the 9 states of Austria, Europe.
@@antivirusdictionary I don't know if there's a country that has NO states. Micro countries like Liechtenstein, Monaco, Vatican or Luxembourg maybe, but I *think* most other countries have states.
@@antivirusdictionary But, tbf, the whole country of Austria is just a little bigger than Australia's state of Tasmania. So our states are even smaller.
The James story turned out so sweet!!! The woman dreaming about her sister was a gut punch, and, having once had a Chester the Cat that my mom was certain the reincarnation of our first family dog, the kitty one has me all wobbly 🥹 I HAVE LIVED WAY TOO LONG IN APPALACHIA FOR THE DOPPELGANGERS/IMPOSTERS 😱😱😱😱😱 ETA: AHAHA, you read mine!! 😂😆 I figured it probably wasn't spooky enough, but I still hear that banging in my ears in times of high stress!
I relate to the story about the dreams so much! I only have a couple instances that I know of, but they both are things that involve loved ones. #1 We had a neighbors who were essentially like family. At this point in time, all of them had passed except for the older sister. The father from a heart attack, the younger sister from colon cancer, and the mother from Alzheimer's. A couple of days prior to the dream, the older sister had been put into the hospital and diagnosed with leukemia and kidney failure. Sure, we were worried about her, but we fully expected that she would be home. One night, I had a dream about her family. They were standing in a room that was all white with blindingly bright lights. I slowly approached them and overheard a part of their conversation. Her sister was saying, "I didn't expect her this soon. I feel like it's too soon." Her mother answered with "I didn't expect it either, but everything happens when it's meant to. I'm just glad we'll get to see her again soon." It was at this point that my alarm went off, pulling me out of the dream. My mother had surgery on her leg that day and came home, going straight to bed. It wasn't even an hour before my mother's best friend called asking if it was true that our neighbor had passed. We hadn't heard anything, so we called her caretaker to ask and found out that she had passed early that morning when an air bubble that had gotten into the tube while she was being given dialysis had gone into her bloodstream, travelled to her heart and caused a heart attack. I had never had any sort of premonition or dream like that before. #2 We had to put my dog to sleep last November. This dog was like my child. She was so sick and I was still trying to hold onto hope that she would be ok. We took her to the vet and left her for treatment and possible surgery. Since I had been up all night the night before, I came home and went to bed. A couple of hours later, the vet called to say that she wasn't responding to treatment and she wouldn't make it through surgery. I didn't make a decision immediately, but went back to the vet hospital to see her. When the vet brought her out, wrapped in a blanket, she looked so small and helpless. I knew then that I had to let her go. She was 8 and a half years old. Just a couple of nights later, I cried myself to sleep. Once I was asleep, I had a dream. In the dream, I woke up and looked out my bedroom window. Outside my window is the area that we fenced off for my dog and a large light pole. Underneath this pole stood my mother with my dog in her arms. I immediately pulled on a jacket and some shoes and ran to meet them. My mother said, "We can't stay long, we just wanted to officially say goodbye. Bonnie (my dog) wanted to let you know that you did everything you could for her and gave her a happy life and a beautiful burial (we buried her under her favorite tree in the backyard). She says she knows that you miss her greatly and it's ok if you get another dog. She says she'll pick one out special for you and make sure that you find your way to one another." I gave my mother a hug, she kissed my forehead like she always had, I kissed my dog, and she licked the tip of my nose. Then, they were gone. I woke up with tears in my eyes and a smile on my lips.
Holy crap, Heather! Your ‘mom’ voice totally stopped me in my tracks! I thought I was being yelled at! Haha 8:27 I too have an older sister named Heidi. (She’s actually the oldest of us four girls. I’m the youngest) but I also have an older sister named Heather 😊 imho you’re a way cooler Heather.
I went shopping with a friend of mine instead of visiting my grandma in the hospital and found a pair of pants and thought”these would be good good for a funeral” 3 days later my grandma died. I felt so guilty for going shopping with my friend instead of going to visit my grandma😔
Who put these wholesome stories in the middle of spooky stories? 😠 jkjk I love the story about the mischievous James. And any story about a loved one (human or not) coming back to say goodbye is always heartwarming.
They slept upstairs and it was a very creaky house. I would have heard them come downstairs before the back and forth stuff. It's funny actually, you grow up in a house with a rickety staircase and you can tell who is coming downstairs by the sound of their footsteps lol
As shitty as it is, young deaths in a small town ARE NOT uncommon, and you only know about them **because** it’s a small town. OP even says at least one of the deaths was drug overdose (which is **super** not uncommon in small towns). OP is mentioned “young” deaths… but is there NEVER an “older” person dying for any reason? If that same person lived in LA or NYC, would they be saying the amount of deaths each year is spooky? Or would they not even know because there’s no way to know of every person who died in a city that big every single year? It sucks that young people die. But living in a small town doesn’t make it not happen. Depression and drugs and gun violence and natural disasters and cancer and all types of things exist even in small towns, some could argue even MORE in small towns **because** of the isolation. Is “older” people dying not the same type of spooky in a small town? If a 37-yr-old goes into an alcoholic coma and never wakes up, does that get counted in the yearly “young” death stat, or is he already too old?
