When I listen to Simon tell these stories of the Great Masters, he makes it sound as if the Composer's whispered their stories into his ear.

Austrians celebrate the first minutes of a new year listening and dancing to Strauss Danubewalz. almost every Austrian radio is switched on for the countdown and at point zero the walz is played.

Amadeus is my all time favorite movie. Hearing this being narrated by the one and only Schikaneder himself Mr. Simon Callow brings a wide smile to my face. "Write it down. It's no use to anyone in your head." Fantastic episode. Fantastic everything.

Documentaries on Arts & Culture, restores my faith in humanity, which is saying a lot since there's not much hope for humanity left in this world.

Your debut timing couldn't be better. Busy planning a long vacation in Austria with 10 days in Wien and a week in Salzburg, Bad Ischl, Saalfelden (childhood home for 3 years). Have always been deeply moved by 'classical' music, but most moved by Mozart. Violin Concerto No. 3 in G Major, K216, never fails to being tears to my eyes. It's like a conversation between young lovers, one trying to convince the other of their devotion. The Serenade No. 10 in B-flat major, K361, also sticks in my mind so deep that I 'carry' both with me every day. Thank you for this inspirational video. More please!

The Musikverein was built thanks to the generous donation of a prominent Viennese patron of the arts, the wealthy industrialist and politician of Greek-Aromanian descent Nikolaus Dumba (1830-1900), also a close friend (and counselor)of Emperor Franz Josef and a friend and supporter of Johann Strauss the Younger. The road next to the Musikverein is nmed after him(Dumbastrasse).

This saga of Salieri and Mozart is only phantasy, completely non-sense.
Mozart had a very fragile construction, and had rheumatic fever.
The so called “doctors” killed him, with the, at this time so called "Aderlass".
Mozart was ill, he had fever, he was only 1.60 high, how many kilogram? Maybe 40?
Aderlass meant with a knife open the arm vena and let blood out, because the so called doctors at this time were thinking that the bad blood was the illness.
Also the bad blood had to be eliminated.
Mozart totally collapsed because of drying inside the body and firstly of the brain.
    greetings from Vienna
