- I made Minecraft experience damage you.
Experience is a useful mechanic in Minecraft, as collecting it allows you to enchant and repair your gear. But today I turned it into a bad experience that damages the player every time they collect it.
Minecraft but experience damages us. Can me and my friend Redtro beat the game this way? This was intense and a lot of fun.

killing the ender dragon is like trying to survive carpet bombing
you bed bomb it for the 6th or so time and just take cover
But the bombs are laxer guided

@@dazcarrr As a speedrunner I can confirm that if you’re atleast somewhat skilled, you should be able to kill the dragon with 5 beds consistently sfter half an hour of practice or smth like that.

So xp bottles are the new instant damage potions now

xp bottles = grenades
no because armor mitigates xp damage but instant damage potions completely ignore it

@@theapexsurvivor9538 to put it into perspective, 2 instant damage II splash potions can kill a player in a diamond set if the armor isn't enchanted with prot and the player doesn't have res status effect. with xp bottles, you'd instead probably have to throw dozens and dozens on that same player to kill them. not to mention the fact if you just run away from the xp that drops from bottles, the player that threw them will have trouble chasing you, because they'd have to go around the xp on the ground that's now closer to them.
I'm surprise your friend hasn't caught up quickly, with how many times he "saw" himself get damaged by XP.
It isn't really that obvious when you don't already know what it is. XP is so ingrained into your head as "good" that it's completely not obvious when it isn't good for you.
10:40 I know what happened here. Operators can see the logs of commands you use in the chat. Such as changing game modes. Sneaky sneaky.
If you deop someone on server, he doesn't get informated, but if you give op someone an op, he see it.
If recently spawned orbs get a cooldown before they start to get attracted towards the player so you can maniobrate aroud this mechanic it could be a nice addition to hardcore mode.

Haha, this is giving me flashbacks to way back when XP was first added. It was buggy in multiplayer, and would take ages to collect large amounts of it - and in the meantime while you waited, it would fly around your head like crazy. Me and my friends all called it "the bees" when you had so much XP following you around that you couldn't see while standing still.
Now the bees are even more dangerous!

This would be a really cool effect to implement in the game as a mechanic. Such as a mob, potion, or status effect that temporarily makes experience deadly.
Like perhaps a new Illager who behaves like a wizard, and would mostly show up only during raids. And would cast an effect on players that causes experience to hurt them. Which significantly increases the challenge of a raid. (Along with making it very hard to farm them)
Or a potion that can be thrown on a player. It would be harmless in most circumstances, but deadly to players doing anything to get XP. Like sitting in a mob grinder, or fighting off a horde at night.
Or if this is a boss effect to discourage players. Like how the Ender Dragon eats blocks, the Elder Guardian makes it damn near impossible to mine, or how the wither blows up anything in its way. The Warden could potentially (almost certainly will not be implemented in the game, but just for fun) cause XP to damage you. And even cause mending tools to take extra damage, as if they were gold. Seriously weakening high level players and their weapons if they arent careful. (Though when it comes to bosses having block related gimmics, chances are the Warden is going to hear block interactions, which encourages stealth in all aspects)

Make an enchantment which defends you more from xp
Make mending for the soul
You need a lot of xp to get it
mending uses the pure damage within XP to repair the armour
Instead of the XP dealing damage, make it so that completing an achievement, regardless of whether or not it gives you XP, just summons, like, 80 creepers
Even making a stone pickaxe would be extremely hard Lmao

It would be nice if the under dark had blood spores. Something lurking around eats the stuff. It is emitted from some block. Gather them in a bucket while crouching and throw the spores while standing.

the Ender Dragon spitting EXP is just a final attack, one last attempt to keep the end sealed from the player
Special achievements be like, "Congrats! You've earned the special award...DEATH!"

- manually scales it so it acts like normal damage
Xp before: good vibes about murdering things and hoarding ores

More games need this by default: there’s no gain without pain, and the exp is the lactic acid in your muscles after fighting

This is because they have a damage area instead of having to look at you and actively attack you.
Here's an idea for you: Make every mob in the game have a damage area.

How to beat ender dragon: put a 3x3 roof over your head and put walls down. Break bottom block of walls and light fire under them. Exp will burn and you can get out safely. Also if you have time, light the roof on fire.

This is basically a karma system. Kill something and you can absorb it's essence but you have to deal with the karma that comes with it.
