Who knew when Judas Priest wrote this how horribly prophetic it would prove. Anyone labeled an 'enemy of the state' and all you have to today to make the list is make a politically incorrect comment or have even the slightest sight criticising the government and the electric eye focuses in you. Describing Jusas Priest as merely metal is doing them a disservice. They are music for an evolving mind. Rob Halford is a Metal Godl
Nice! Shit is true. Which begs the question: What with Orwell's 1984, Priest's Electric Eye, and other examples of a dystopian future world (we are here already), is a Big Brother state a mere evolution of the human condition? Are we destined to forever be self imposed captives in a techno-panopticon?
Is it just me or is Rob's voice actually better than it was back when they made the Screaming for Vengeance album? It sounds better than the album version i think.
yeah, I miss K.K too, but I saw Judas Priest with Richie Faulkner in Oslo a few days ago and Richie is an amazing guitar player! I think he was the best replacement. He kicked ass along with the rest of Priest \m/
YEAH!!! I have this DVD!! It´s really amazing! I was 11 years old when I listened for first time to Judas Priest! They are the greatest metal band of the U.K.!
What i love about PRIEST and HALFORD is that they compose for the mistreated people firstly so and then to have fun. The mistreated people come from all walks of life: nerds, geeks, dweebs, oucasts, burners, punks, metal heads, rockers, LGTBs, young fans, older fans a long list of etc. PRIEST is the PEOPLE BAND.
I just listened to that cover because of you, I must say it wasn't that bad, it was good... Until they reached the vocals, and the video sucked, but instrument-wise it wasn't that bad, but yeah Priest's version owns them
well personally i like load and reload. not really st. anger. but death magnetic is a pretty good thrash album considering how they changed their style.
@Koischwarzer Sad but true! The truth is that there is not even one good concert of the Priest after 1990, then Rob absoloutly lost his voice! To be fair Tim sounds better to me than Rob(today)!
Man when i see those guys on stage, considering their age... They deserve all my respect, and more. That's some fucking energy emanating from this band. OW JUDAS PRIEST YEAH ! Rock on ! *Bows deeply*
@Zedthyr I can't stand hip hop or the Jonas Brothers or Beiber, but I seriously doubt that Priest even thinks about them. They aren't a threat to metal, in fact, nothing thats come along has been. Metal still lives in spite of grunge and fads. Center on the metal if you're into metal and those things will pass. These guys are in their 50's and are as powerful as ever. Metal survives in spite of adversity, thats what makes is so good.
@SinnersWin Like in Breakin the Law? "There I was completely wasting, out of work and down." lol. Yep, I'm sure you have. "All inside its so frustrating" - That fits you perfectly and the minute I let some kid who wasn't even BORN when Priest was selling out arenas and were breaking new ground tell me not to speak unless I'm spoken to will be the day you get laid....that won't be anytime soon, I'm certain of that, lol. Grow up kid.
@boliverful1 Rob has always been a powerful presence. The leather helps. If you don't think so, check out one of their early videos....but yeah, you're dead on. The drummer is decent. I think they should have snagged a British drummer. Its good to see them and agreed, top form!
@QAeternus The guy is a good drummer. Who gives a rat's ass? What, did he steal your woman or something? Kids also like Spongebob. Noone cares. Let them think that. As they grow up, facts will reveal themselves. Why are you worried about this? lol.
@BigBenIsTheSavior Motorhead.....they're above Metallica and Priest would have their hands full following Motorhead. If you've not checked them out, do. If you like Priest you'll dig Motorhead.
I saw judas Priest on that tour!!! I have never heard someting so powerfull!...when Glenn Tipton and KK.downing arrive on the stage with Electric eye!!. The energy was amazing!!!!!
@SupersonicAK47 Rob is not my favourite singer and "Electric Eye" is not my favourite song, I understood your comment, and I do not think that Heavy Metal is a small genre because thanks to Heavy Metal appeared many sub-genres like Trash Metal, Glam Metal, Folk Metal etc. and others genres like Industrial, Electro-Industrial, Hard core etc., I respect your opinion and I am sorry if I offended you, (expand your musical horizons). My favourite band is Rammstein. Greetings from Mexico. =)-
@SupersonicAK47 Well, I guess you are fan of Judas Priest, that´s ok! I said: "Judas Priest is the GREATEST metal band of the U.K." I love metal. My first bands I listened were Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd Quiet Riot Traffic etc., but there are many bands around the world, sorry man, but I think the best band of the world is RAMMSTEIN!!!! They don´t play heavy metal, I know this, but I prefer Industrial music. Advice: You must expand your musical horizons.
@SupersonicAK47 Ok thanks! Have a nice weekend! and I´m sorry newly if I offended you. I admit that Judas is a perfect, awesome, magnific metal band!! =) I could not go to Judas´s concert when They visited my country =( I did not have money, Could you tell me how you live a Judas´s concert? thanks Good luck!
these should have the title of best heavy metal band, i mean they made it wat it should be, heavy, slow or fast, the ability needed, just basicly they perfected metal
Wow, way slower than usual, and they don't move anymore XD Nothing worse than icons degrading into nothing. Metallica, Priest, Maiden is starting to get there
That could be. Also I think Rob's voice is better now than it was back in the day. It has a more aged sound to it and that really appeals to me with Priest. His high notes are a bit stressed but his lower notes and growls are just simply amazing now.
you can say anyone of them is better, but you can say it like you did, "rob has more presence..bruce has an awsome chest voice..rob was famous for his falsetto screams." bruce has the best voice, rob sream best, i mean bruce has a good fucking voice and rob has a good voice, but bruce has the best voice, but rob sream best, and bruce sream pretty good too, but at best rob sream best. but both of them are god's
There aint another band of any kind that performs like the Priest 36 years into it. Past their Prime? I dunno bout that. Age is deceiving. Tipton and Hill are both 62 this year and Halford and Downing late 50's. They still rock the whole stage. KK is starting to look his age but watch some mid 70's vids and Tipton still looks 30 today.
Is the drummer a southpaw playing a right handed setup? He reminds me of Simon Phillips. They confuse the hell out of me. You're right 69Homer, the stick throw is cool. I try it all the time. I am successful about 50% of the time, but when I pull it off, the crowed goes nuts and I feel like a real drummer. Cheers
I don't think Maiden influenced only shit like ax7 or black tide, really cool bands like Blind Guardian were influenced by Maiden. And also a lot of thrash and power metal bands were inspired by Maiden. And really badass bands not gay stuff like Dragonforce. For me the Kings of Heavy Metal are Maiden and Judas, both kick ass bands.
i cant say iron maiden coming there, the move like they always has done, i was on their concert for 1 year ago and im going this year, and they still move like they did on concert for over 20 years ago. iron maiden just getting better, judas priest i can say anything about right know, but come back 9 june then i can tell you if they are getting more bad....
Priest have gotten old and may be a tiny bit slower then they us to be.. However they still kick the shit out of the bands nowadays that call them selves "metal" and "heavy Metal" they are metal gods and they always will be i acctauly liked this version of the song over the studio version lol
@2010crazytrain i cant believe someone who listens Priest uses "gay" as a derogatory term... How ignorant are you? That dude singing is gay! Newsflash! And you, like all open minded people, shouldn't have a problem with that. Seriously
@OMMIAMSalvation That's the Intro to Electric Eye...known as "The Hellion".....it's one of the best musical intros of ANY metal song. It's like this on the album also. It's actually a tape FROM the album..they dont actually play it.
@TennisNoJet . I have recently rediscovered Judas Priest and after missing out on seeing 'em 20 years ago I have just booked to watch them this July in Manchester England! I am glad I read your post I might have missed out again otherwise - Thanks man!
@Zedthyr well i dont listen to these bands. i love metallica^^. but do you actually think you are strong if you hear this music? well answer is yes you do but that doesnt allows you to make other people look bad just because they listen to other music...
I hate to agree.. Hit the Lights is still freaking fantastic though, and their 80's stuff in general still holds up in my opinion. It's not like their songs get retrospectively worse. Everything after 1990 though? ...
@mariodik yes they will embark on thier world tour which will be thier final tour starting this year so everyone must go out there and dont miss the last opportunity to watch the metal gods rocking out one last time.
BOOM ! what did you say ? huh ? I can't fucking hear you ! IT'S TOO FUCKING LOUD ! DAMN THIS IS SO FUCKING COOL ! I feel like I am 14 again, well it wasonly yesterday, just goofing, 43 and I still love ti !
Does anyone know if the Priest and Maiden have ever toured together and if not, why the hell not!?!? Could you imagine these two bands on the same bill? They could alternate opening each gig. We can only hope.
Since your asking It is heavier - the drums are heavier and far better recorded, the guitars including bass are heavier all EMG equipted (active signal boost pick ups) giving "heavier" thicker distortion tone IMO of course
this is kinda random, but! i was playing WoW the other day. and an item dropped called: shield of the iron maiden. so i thought to myself: what if there was a staff called: the staff of the judas priest?
I love JP and I adore Rob Halford but I can't help wondering...anyone else notice he somewhat resembles Sloth from the Goonies? Put a little tuft of hair on top of his head and shave the goatee.....
judas priest its one of the kind, they have the electric eye, break the law , living all the midnight, they are night crawlers and take painkillers best fucking band in the world thnks for all priest
today's "stars" dance around like idiots and posers and look silly. rob halford stands still as a statue wearing sunglasses and looks as cool as the underside of a pillow. ya either got it or ya don't.
Oh Gosh! I and my father are from Brazil and we LOVE JUDAS PRIEST! We want to go to a show, but they don't come... i know Brazil is a real SHIT but just a time here won't kill they...
I just can't wait till the Priest are rising in the west.....That's California to you & me. "Cause I'm made of metal my circuits gleam - I am perpetual I keep the country clean"....
Well, most of the teens over here in Birmingham (England) don't even realise that people like Judas Priest and Black Sabbeth were all from the West Midlands, now I find that sad!
Rob and RJD are and where the best at what they do. Great voices and stage presents. Keep Metal alive Rob. We all miss you RJD! Your spirit lives among us!
I love bands more than solo singer because bands have true skill in music solo singers either are amazing or they use auto tune. Also \../All Hail Priest\../
Who knew when Judas Priest wrote this how horribly prophetic it would prove. Even more true today, CRAZYYYYY
98 Rock tattoo it on your hooters 3:08
The absolute best intro to a concert ever made...
It would also make a good car commercial theme, lol.
@@professorgenki5959 They already used it for the Honda Odyssey commercial. Pretty fucking lame to use Judas Priest for a van...
The Hellion
True but I wish the audio was as good as Epitaph.
❤
A song that was originally written about Cold War spy satellites, but applies more than ever in today's internet surveillance society.
judas priest, black sabbath, diamond head, saxon, iron maiden, metallica, megadeth and anthrax... true heavy metal
Is it just me or is Rob's voice actually better than it was back when they made the Screaming for Vengeance album? It sounds better than the album version i think.
This is how you start a concert !
one of the greatest live voices ever
yeah, I miss K.K too, but I saw Judas Priest with Richie Faulkner in Oslo a few days ago and Richie is an amazing guitar player! I think he was the best replacement. He kicked ass along with the rest of Priest \m/

Rob Hartford's voice is synonymous with authority and supremacy of the metal gods.
The Metal Gods!
Es la hostia esta canción... los pelos como escarpias.
These guys.. they made music when my dad was my age! And they're still freaking amazing!
3:11 Scott Travis mostrando que é FODA !!!!!
I just listened to that cover because of you, I must say it wasn't that bad, it was good... Until they reached the vocals, and the video sucked, but instrument-wise it wasn't that bad, but yeah Priest's version owns them
Son un grupo estupendo y son una maravilla de músicos 😮😅😊
well personally i like load and reload. not really st. anger. but death magnetic is a pretty good thrash album considering how they changed their style.
Rob's vocals are real refined here, with the accented parts, gotta love em'. If only he moved around a bit :(
tipton is da man.
He's not that new, man. He's been with them since the 90's. But yeah, he's really good.

@Koischwarzer
Sad but true! The truth is that there is not even one good concert of the Priest after 1990, then Rob absoloutly lost his voice! To be fair Tim sounds better to me than Rob(today)!
They just aren't Priest without Halford. Its good to see them back....they haven't missed a step.
"I'm perpetual, I keep the county clean." Yeah ... Judas Priest ... good stuff!

I love KK Downings guitar sound and play style . !!!
@Zedthyr I can't stand hip hop or the Jonas Brothers or Beiber, but I seriously doubt that Priest even thinks about them. They aren't a threat to metal, in fact, nothing thats come along has been. Dude. No disrespect. But as a general TH-cam thing, people don't appreciate hearing ppl advertise their vids on a kickass metal video.
Still two of the greatest guitarists! Rippin solos straight from hell! \m/
They still sounds AWESOME!
you can say anyone of them is better, but you can say it like you did, "rob has more presence..bruce has an awsome chest voice..rob was famous for his falsetto screams."

Totally agreed, Scott Travis is one of the most underrated drummers ever.

anything from the 90s on sucks, people dont know how to jam like this nowadays total different era and genre im born in 92 wish i could say 82 :(
@przs33 and I say more: I can't believe that here will have a World Cup on 2014 '-' It will need the brazillian's army to protect the players '-'
Does anyone else think the bassist looks like Ace Frehley? None of my friends see it
no offence, but as i lay dying version-> this version!!!!
yeah this might be the orginial but as i lay dying perform it just much bether!
@HydrallAntidrall Awfuly sad, I only knew of them last year, this will be my first and last chance to see th best metal band ever live..
De seguro a los que no les gustó el video son un montón de reggetoneros, pero tenemos que aprender a vivir con ellos, porqué Dios?
