Social Media where we can see and encounter many things such as awareness to health issues, Information and it is also a platform where we can stay connected to people and we can also encourage and empower people about a certain situation. Media literacy also expand our knowledge in today's society.
Media literacy and information literacy are the topics that caught my attention. Media literacy is important because it helps people understand the messages that are being conveyed to them. In today's generation, informations can be easily spread and media literacy can help people identify and filter which are the reliable sources and which is not . Improving media and information literacy is crucial as it enables people, as users of information and media, to make and make informed judgments and to become skilled creators and producers of information and media messages.
Information literacy caught my attention. Lifelong learning is built on information literacy. It is applicable to all disciplines, learning contexts, and educational levels. It enables students to master information and expand their inquiries, become more self-directed, and take greater responsibility for their own learning.
What caught my attention is Media Literacy. In the current age we take the internet and social media for granted, to the point that many of our youth are so engaged in it that it is an integral and important part of their life. At a young age they are able to learn literacy in media with the use of devices and gadgets. With this literacy, they are immediately open to the foundation of many opportunities in the internet, it allows them to understand, contribute, assess and decide the many medium that influence the way of information. More so, media literacy directly contributes to the two other aspects of the video being Information and Technology Literacy. Whilst not as applied as either, media literacy is in a way the most influential due to the way information works now these days.
Information literacy caught my attention since it allows us to express more our own opinions as well as to recognize and use correct information wisely and efficiently, which is necessary for us to develop new knowledge. It also helps us to broaden our understanding of current events in society and expand our multimedia skills.
The part that grabbed my attention was media literacy, because the phrase itself, when you think about it, encompasses a wide range of topics that enable us to properly understand media literacy. We will not only learn how to engage in learning on various media platforms, but we will also increase mass medias knowledge.
Information literacy is a topic that has caught my interest since it teaches us to be aware of the information we seek, evaluate, discuss, and apply. It instills in us the habit of saving. When we obtain information that is not based on assumptions but only comes from reliable and official sources, we learn how to properly investigate.
