So Namjoon explained that Yoongi interpreted the word tear as tear,, like tearing a piece of paper, tearing a relationship apart. Whereas Namjoon interpreted the word as a tear, like a teardrop. Through emotion and suffering. And since these 2 wrote the song, we could see a clear difference but the message remained cohesive and expressed the same emotion,, it’s so cool to see how Yoongi and Namjoon had a single word and could write so much and such beautiful lyrics. Yoongi also said that they wrote the song when the band had thoughts of disbanding, so his perspective was from the idea of the band tearing apart,, it’s fascinating
Edit: he also said Hobi interpreted it as fear, and the three rappers created the outro about their fears, their tears, and the emotional tears of their lives

Yoongi said it was written for the members, not that he wrote it. He wrote the melody & his rap. Rm & j-hope wrote their parts. Please stop saying only Yoongi wrote it. :(

In case do you know, Outro Tear was written for Yoongi in 2018 when they were considered to separate the group, Tear is about all the feeling that BTS was felling and that's why the songs hit worse when you know that all that words it's for them and the group in general, TEAR is about the separation of BTS in 2018 but thankfully the didn't
This performance is one of their best and it shows perfectly how raw and honest they are with their music. I’m always in awe when it comes to bts, no one’s doing it like them.

this song is one of their most emotional and angry sounding songs for me. like they really poured some pain into it and they perform it so gorgeously. it's pretty upsetting that yoongi mentioned it was inspired by the time when they were thinking about disbanding...it just shows how much passion they have for bts though. and yes HOBI is on another plane of existence here. he's SO charismatic on stage. they definitely all are but hobi always pulls me in especially here...its really a powerful performance which says so much since there isn't even choreo.

I love the chorus part especially the RM and Yoongi part where they used the same word but if you listen to the way their pronunciation carefully, you can tell they're talking about different things. RM talks about tear (like crying tears) while yoongi talk about tear (like tear a piece of paper) and then Hobi ended it perfectly with fear

I saw the video of this performance before they let it be known that it was about them breaking up and even though I didn't know that they were actually talking to one another, the emotions that they showed as they performed this song convinced me that the pain they were rapping about was absolutely real. Then I found out that the ones that broke their hearts so badly were each other and the other members and it made me cry. Knowing it's a break up song is one thing. Knowing that it's about BTS breaking up and that the idea of it hurt them this badly...It just shows how much they truly love one another.
Outro: Tear is an i deed masterpiece, tell me any other Venue better than Wembley for Outro live, Tear was already a powerful and intense until bts releases 'break the silence' and Yoongi told us that they wrote Tear when they were about to Disband bts and from there this whole song turn emotional, it stills haunts me when I hear this song but feels powerful at the same time.
This song was An intense Fire when Break the Silence came and Yoongi told why he wrote Tear and the whole Emotion changed.😭😭😭

I used to hear about it alot, but I never took the chance to actually listen to it, but when I did, I promise you, like, I'm not even joking, just when at the very beginning, hearing the music I shed into tears, and when I tell you that I'm obsessed with it, until rn, which is like, 2 months, I actually mean it. I used to dislike, rap songs before becoming an Army, but even after that, I still didn't give that much attention, which I regret until rn, but once I heard this song, I couldn't! about the autotune, yeah i think the backing vocals are autotuned. i've noticed that yoongi uses that often as a stylistic choice. but yeah tear is up there with the best things they've released. i'm the same as you, not usually as much into rap as vocals, but damn some of these bts rap songs just get to me so much with the emotion

You seem to struggle a tiny bit when trying to say Hobi’s given name.The simplest way to pronounce Hoseok, as I hear from other armys, is Ho-sock. It’s definitely what I hear when he introduces himself
