- Disney Cruise Line has made some chanes to the online check in process with the introduction of the newest Castaway Club Pearl tier. Today we go over everything you need to know about these changes and take you through the entire check in process from start to finish.

I don’t think it was mentioned but what time does check in start? Does it open up at midnight as well? If so, did you do yours at midnight? Just wondering since you had very early check in time.
Thank you for pointing that out! Yes check in does typically open at midnight eastern time. I however did not do mine at midnight. I did mine at 9am eastern.

I’m wondering if this is another great advantage (to be in higher cruise status member) or just that a lot of ppl didn’t know that they can check in earlier (if your at a higher cruise member status). Sorry still learning the new tier names lol
@@carollugo2489 usually they don’t fill up too fast. Not everyone checks in as soon as they can.
I live in Calif. and I checked in at 9pm (PST - since it goes by 12am EST). I wanted the earliest arrival time. Same goes for booking on-board activities.

Secret to early port arrival time even if you’re a first time cruiser is if you’re flying in or at the Orlando airport and taking their buses/transport to the port we checked in 2 weeks before the cruise first timers and I got a 11 am port arrival time 😊

Thanks for posting this! This will be helpful for all the new cruisers out there who might not know the process! For the new tiered check in system I personally really like it because I feel like this was a clever way to help the Disney cruise line employees who would get hammered with waves of passport and guest photos to verify because now it won’t be as many coming in waves lol. I also think this will help the website from becoming overloaded because my mom experienced this the last time we sailed and everyone on the ship got to check in 30 days out. She went on to check in for us (I was out of town) and the website was glitchy and wasn’t working well at all! so I think with this new process it will help a lot!
Pro tip for uploading photos: make sure the photos you upload are in the jpeg format. It’s my understanding the website won’t accept the HEIC format iPhones will take photos in so you will need to convert them beforehand!
Finally, glad we are going back to this... Pre-Covid had tiered status check-in, thankful we're going back to it...

Instead of entering a card you can select cash account and then add a card onboard. It wasn’t accepting our Australian cards.
Thanks for the video! Not a fan of the tiered check-in unless they’re going to hold back some early PATs for each level.
I’ve always been able to get the first PAT even as a first timer and Silver. Just make sure you check in on the day you’re able to online first thing.
If we have two rooms booked (my family and my parents) is it best for us to check in for our rooms simultaneously separately? Or can I check us all in at the same time?
For the Passport Photo, does it need to be the bttom part with all the information or the bottom AND top part that has your signature?
It just needs to be the full page that has your photo on it. It needs to include the long passport numbers on the bottom and all of your important details.
Hey Adrian have you thought about travelling for other cruises besides Alaska. Like maybe you could take a trip to New Orleans before going on the Magic?
I have considered it but at this time do not have any plans for NOLA in the near future

Disney has rotational dining across three main dining rooms that get assigned to your party. You will go to each dining room at least once. You can book specialty dining like Palo or Remy when your excursion booking window opens
You do not need to put a credit card on your account. You can choose cash. I did that for my most recent cruise

Hi! The Authorization Form for children is needed if the parent(s) is NOT traveling with the child on the cruise. Say a grandparent wants to take a grandchild. The form would be needed. No form is needed as long as ONE parent is sailing with the child.

Question… since higher status guests get to check in first, what’s the benefit of being able to do that? Do they get better boarding positions… like earlier or what?
Better boarding positions plus first dibs on activities that can only be booked at time of check in like royal gathering (I believe that’s how that works but don’t quote me on it bc I’ve never done royal gathering 😅) but yes boarding groups/time is the biggest benefit
Just want to add that it is always a good idea to print your port arrival information 👍🏼 Also if cruising from port Canaveral, staying at a resort and taking Disney transportation, they will preselect your port arrival time and boarding group 👍🏼

I was wondering if you are able to add other credit cards on your staterooms. For example say your mom didn't want you and Koda charging on her card. Would you be able to add a different card for you and Koda to be able to charge to.
Yes you would be able to add another. However I have personally never done this just to keep things quick and easy for us when trying to check in quickly
I did online check-in for my husband and I as well as my mother-in-law and I was able to put in a separate credit card for her. Also, we bypassed the credit card and selected cash.
I was thinking that the higher Castaway club members were always sooner because they always get the cabanas on Castaway Cay. So I think booking excursions and extras is on a different date, is that correct? Checking in gets you a sooner onboard time and royal meet and greet, is there any other advantages of earlier check in?
Correct, booking excursions happens at a much earlier date prior to check in and it is tiered based on your castaway club status

A debit card will work fine as well
this might be a "European" question but, as far as I know, it is strongly advised to never upload your passport information (number, photo etc.) by our Dutch goverment. Is it mandatory or is there a possibility not to?
So what's the point of checking in early based on tier status??? I'm like Tom Hanks on BIG - I don't get it - what's the big deal??
Earlier arrival time to the port. Earlier boarding group and more importantly, earlier access to booking specific activities like “princess Royal gathering” if you have a little one who loves princesses
@@ThemeParkExpress it seems to me the pearl status was way over due but at the end of the day what are the perks associated with pearl other than bragging rights?!? Disney does a great job most of the time but sometimes they lack follow through - I guess having free cruise pictures is a nice perk with pearl status but after 25 cruises I would think that one would already have albums of pirate night photos already collecting dust in some corner designated DCL merch in the den.
