What is the object between the tracks which we see every 30 seconds or so? (e.g., at 1:38?) I'm guessing it is partof the signalling system? Or Block system? W hatever it is, the noise that occurs when the object is crossed seems to say "lots of friction," i.e., "lots of future maintenance."

why does the dallas light rail vehicle have 2 different types of horns? A whistle like horn, and a deeper Washington metrorail horn? when is each one used?

The deeper horn is used more for warning of cars at crossing and people near the track. The bell is used for warn people waiting to board at the station. I am not sure what the whistle like horn is and why it is used. I will try to do more research and let you know what I find.

We use whistles at grade crossings, and to acknowledge flaggers in the ROW. The horn is used in the Blue Line at Plano Road, Shiloh Road and one other just before Shiloh. I forget the name and haven’t operated since 2017. They’re all considered industrial areas.
On the green line, it’s at 635 (LBJ Freeway) and the crossing after (heading north)

The whistle is the more common one, the louder freight horn is mainly used on Lancaster rd in south Dallas where the trains get within a few feet of cars at stoplights

Should I record the 3.5-mile tunnel with my iPhone 6S in 1080p HD resolution at 60 fps?
