I ran out of worms once (had accidentally grabbed an old punnet with mostly dead worms) and put the dirt from the punnet in my bait catcher and it worked. Once used a lug nut as a sinker, necessity is the mother of invention. A friend uses only nuts instead of lead as sinkers and they work well too. I saw the same guy catch a yellow belly with a piece of tin foil on a hook when we ran out of bait. Cheers

Please, please, please Robbie - Get yourself some "baitrunner" style reels. It saves your rods being pulled in & being broken off on the 1st strike. The rear drag prevents it, as it allows line to spool out at whatever tension you set. As soon as you turn the reel handle, it reverts to the front drag.

Great video mate, that fly scene LOL!! If I ever get down around your way would be awesome to go for a flick around one of these rivers, some nice looking spots that seem to be pretty active. I love fishing for freshwater fish, they are my go to for some reason, it always seems to take you to beautiful spots and you usually get some time to relax a little and take in nature ( as long as the fish aren't on the bite).

Robbie a few months ago I was at lake Buffalo, the water was as cold as penguin balls, but my mate and I were catching shrimp and yabbies, they only come out at night there because it's so clear, they were in and around the boat ramp and grass flats either side of it, and we saw some sleeping redfin, I also caught a gudgeon with a landing net, it was amazing just how many there were considering how cold the water was

Another entertaining video Robbie, I’ve just finished buying some new fishing gear, and I’m going to start flicking lures and soft tailed jigs around some beaches here around Rockingham where I live. You’ve finally got me in the right mood again for fishing, so thanks for sharing your videos with me, i know it’s a different kind of fishing but I’m looking forward to it. Also when you pack your shrimp trap see if you can’t take a flytrap along with you. 😂👍🏼👍🏼

When you were showing the aerator, i couldn’t help but notice the nut sedge weeds to your left. That’s an invasive weed from Asia. Horrible things, I noticed it never existed till 2010. Every time my Mrs and I see just one blade of nut sedge, we pick it from our lawn. Its bulbs stay in the soil until they finally die. Anyways great video as always Robbie!
