Shannon is in the HOF, Chad is not, he laid out just a few of the WR he's competing with to get in. Doesn't mean Chad's name won't get called at some point but many have to wait a long time for their name to be called. Skip was out right disrespectful in how he handled Shannon, where Shannon was being real with Chad and honest with him from a HOF's perspective. Loved Chad and I live in Pittsburgh life long Steelers fan, he'll get there one day.

Dan's comment about social media definitely applies to me. I haven't watched First Take on ESPN since it was Skip and Stephen A., and I've never watched Undisputed on FS1. Three minute clips on Facebook is my tolerance level for embrace debate.

Ocho and B Marshall deserve a serious HOF conversation. Don’t think they’ll necessarily get the nod, but they deserve a serious look.
Yeah, they do. But the problem with WR is that it's already a slightly overrepresented offensive position in the Hall. There are more of them than QBs. And even outstanding ones like Ocho and Marshall only stand out a little in comparison. It all comes down to the fact it's hard as hell to make the Hall of Fame.

Ochocinco in his era of receivers was around where Philip Rivers was in his era of QBs. Unfortunately for Ocho, the HoF is a lot more favourable to borderline QBs than to WRs

Compared to how he played, Shannon was the best TE I ever seen. He was one of the few who could line up in the Slot, block and ran that mouth.

Ocho was entertaining but you can tell the story of the 2000s receivers without him honestly. Torry Holt, Steve Smith, Larry Fitzgerald, Reggie Wayne, Wes Welker, Andre Johnson all were more productive and had longevity.
Lets not forget Randy Moss also, Calvin was a bit later but he was around during Chads good years

11,000 yards on a crummy team is a lot. Had he been with a better outfit you could probably add another 2,000 to that total. And since when was longevity and production a major factor because I know a running back who was admitted into the HoF with four productive seasons and 7,000 yards? For me Chad is borderline and I wouldn't have a problem either way. Put it this way - there are far less deserving players than Chad wearing a gold jacket. It's a glorified popularity test. If your face fits you're in. If it doesn't - you aint.
Dan is way too comfortable calling certain people loud mouths; even when it does not apply. 4:00 Ocho is not a loud mouth.

7:48 Mike is so bad at cherry picking stats. From 2003-2006 Chad had 5403 yds 35 TDs. Harrison had 4897yds 49TDs. One year earlier Harrison put up a 1722yd season AND THAT WAS HIS SECOND TIME. Ochocinco was good but he will wait forever to get in…if he ever does.
Harrison also had a guy who was on GOAT trajectory and who many consider to be one of the 3 best players to ever play the position throwing him the ball and killing defenses pre-snap. We saw what happened when Moss got Brady.
Harrison also Broke the single season reception record. People will blame Manning for Harrison success.
But Chad Johnson played with Brady and messed it up
@@MikeBNumba6 He was 33 years old when he got to New England. Marvin was great for 8 straight years with Manning. Chad was great for 6 straight and never played with a hall of famer throwing him the ball. Also, I think you guys forget in terms of pure regular season numbers. Manning for a very long time was superior to Brady. He was only under 4000 3 times in his entire career and his rookie year and final year accounted for two of those seasons. They were tossing the thing all over the lot. To put this in perspective in case you guys forgot how bad if a dude Manning was in the regular season. In 2004 TJ in Cincy playing opposite of Chad had 978 yards receiving. He'd have been 4th on the team in yards had he played in Indy that season. They had 3 guys go over 1000 and James went for over 2000 total yards out if the backfield! If you remove Marvin's numbers completely Manning still passed for over 3400 yards and 39 TD's. Palmer and Kitna in Cincy combined for 3500 and 23 TD's . Think about Shannon. If he plays his entire prime with Trent Dilfer and Tony Banks throwing him the ball as opposed to John, he's in the hall?
@@trainerrob1622 Carson palmer is much better then Tony Banks and Dilfer. Manning spreads the ball around a lot more. So you can argue Harrison would have even better numbers if he didn't have to split the ball with Edge, Wayne, Stokely and Clark.
In 99 Harrison had 1600yds. That's when there wasn't a Wayne on the opposite side of him. Chad never had a season that was better then that.
At age 33 Harrison had one of his best seasons. Everyone loves the argument if x receiver played with Brady or Manning their numbers would be better.
Not every receiver is randy moss. Mike Evans had his best seasons without Brady. So there's no guarantee that Chad would be better with a Peyton Manning.

Man let’s be honest skip had first take doing good on ESPN 2 when undisputed came they switched first take to ESPN to make sure it’s dominated. Y’all being completely unfair. FS1 did skip no favors by having his show go away for 3 months. First take was still on during that time. Shannon podcast is good because he talks to A list celebrities. Stephen A podcast is more shock jock. Skip just talks about his thoughts on any given subject. Let’s not forget Stephen A had a show called quite Frankly that quickly flopped

It seems as though in an effort to compete Bayless has decided to crank the race baiting up to eleven on Undisputed. I'm sure Keyshawn and Sherm knew this was always a fundamental component of the show - but I think even they weren't prepared for how far Skip is wishing to push this. You could tell Sherman wasn't entirely comfortable with the suggestion that the entirety of college football is lining up against Deion purely because of the color of his skin and he at least attempted to take the edge of what was an outrageously cynical hot take to make. But Shannon Sharpe must share some degree of culpability here because he enabled Skip on this issue for YEARS. Moreover, he's now jumped ship to a guy who attempted to play the very same game but with Max Kellerman - who was just too classy to be dragged into the gutter. Fair play to Colin Cowherd (and Nick Wright) who at least have the good sense to not become embroiled in such a socially divisive debate. Personally I'd much prefer it if Stephen A and Skip were shown the door. Sure, they drawing the ratings. But at what cost?

First Take use to have 400k viewers while on ESPN2.. After Skip left they moved First take to ESPN and that’s why ratings got better. Dan you don’t know what your talking about !

Well I haven’t watched ESPN in years. The one thing that gets me about Stephen A, and some of the other sports commentators is that you speak about these athletes in such ill repute because you want an audience but you shouldn’t speak about young athletes like that especially if they’re trying to make a living, we would all be naïve to think that media does not have some type of influence and decision making as it relates to these athletes and public perception. A lot of times owners have to go with what their fans and or constituents want to appease their pockets for money.

Ochocinco is hall of fame calibur. He won't be on the first ballot though. He shouldn't have to wait that long though. He definitely is hall of fame calibur and he also helped turned the Bengals from a joke to a competitive team. I remember looking at preview magazine for the Bengal during 2002 when they predicted to be one of the worst in the NFL. It said 'Bengals, gotta have faith' It was funny ass hell at the time and the Bengals were a big joke but Ochocinco helped turn that around. That has to count for something.
Shannon was right Ochocinco does not belong in the hall of fame.
Skip is a REPORTER for 40 plus years... seen many players in all sports...Brady's impact was far Superior than Shannon...
