I am 80 and God has showed me His Commandments and gone through my entire life with me from four years old..I can remember. Using His Commandments..Everything Makes perfect sense. The Good that I did and the mistakes that I made. No more questions! But some correcting still happening. God is a Genius! 😊❤
What a gift to be able to look back and see God's hand in your life through all those decades, kathleen! "Some correcting still happening" -- I love that humble statement. Ain't it the truth, from someone 14 years behind you....
The movie of our lives, the whole process is just wonderfully incredible! We judge our actions by ourselves, we give the verdict. Oh Lord have mercy upon us, we want to be with you forever!❤🙏
I am a recovering Catholic, and I have not rejoined any other church because there's a lot of fear mongering, and a lot of lies and a lot of hypocrises in the church. However, being very familiar now, with near death experiences, and other spiritual experiences that I have had for the last forty years, I know that WE are the ones that will judge ourselves after we die.And that is probably the hardest thing to do, since we will feel the emotions from others that we did wrong. The churgh/religion should not fear monger people Into a god that supposedly punishes you with the wrath of its almighty power. We are all part of God, and we will judge ourselves, and that will be the most intense experience we will have. You just need to look in the mirror❤
Great perspective, InTheLight. Swedenborg frames it in terms of making a choice, but it's the same thing -- WE will judge ourselves. God created us for heaven IF we want to choose a heavenly life.
I saw one NDE where the woman was shown her life review and she had no comment and kinda shrugged it off with no self judgement. And that was OK apparently.
I have to work hard to stop negative thoughts from making a home in my mind. They have a habit of slipping in, but as soon as I realise, I push them back out again and never let them set up home there. Sometimes, I feel guilty that I had such thoughts. But this channel helps to dispell that guilt. Keep pushing out the great work ❤.
So glad you're having some success in recognizing the negative thoughts and promptly disinviting them, Bonny! It DOES take practice. And yes -- it's such a relief to realize that not every thought in our mind is US. Thoughts come and go from outside of ourselves, and we are not responsible for what shows up in our mind unless we entertain it, love it, act on it, want it! Happy to know you're finding some of these ideas helpful and useful!
Very Interesting!! Dr. Jonathan; can you cite the exact passage from Swedenborg that talks about your effect on others? I've been very interested in this since I heard NDE survivors talk about it on You Tube. What an amazing way to teach humility to us. To truly see in particular that while I picture myself a Prince at my core I'm an outhouse fly (read that recently). A perfect way to learn how to be truly alive. The antidote to the human ego (well said Curtis). Thanks for a great show!
I have a very loving family and in particular my Mother and my great grandmother give off the same vibe a what I feel Mother Theresa would give - my mother had done no wrong all her life and my great grandmother was the same - and whilst now I am 50 and still agnostic even having gone to Sunday school in the uk and have quite iconic religious strong women in my family - I have done some bad things but know deep down I have a very good heart- Ive had businesses but ended up in prison twice in my life for fraud both times I do not blame anyone and am comfortable with my destiny - but as I get older I find myself getting drawn to God more closely each day -----
Im thinking the Catholic view of purgatory a place we go to heal and work on ourselves is kind of the same place we go as the world of spirits when we cross over. I believe the church just has a different name for it and talks about it a little more harshly but its the same area we go before we go to heaven or hell
Last night I was referencing "Dictionary of all Scripture and Myth" G.A. Gaskell Under the entry 'Apostles, The Twelve' it cites Swedenborg, Apoc. Rev., n. 915 (which prompted this post) The dictionary is an excellent resource with expanded meanings and sources (not only Christian) that I believe would be of interest to fans of the channel. : )
Well thanks for sharing that, spg! I'm not familiar with that book. Looks like that Apocalypse Revealed reference is talking about the precious stones that form the foundation of the wall of the Holy City New Jerusalem!
Hey Curtis, could you and your friends do a teaching on GOD'S Intimacy? Rev speaks of Judgment for those who never allowed CHRIST to know them (be intimate). Intimacy, is associated w/eating - to commune, communicate, come together, consume [consummate] be complete. Would be very interesting to hear you break it down. Transition - my take is there has to be a Final or Conclusion to anything that isn't Complete because GOD is complete. We cannot expect Our FATHER to endure this torment forever. Beyond our individual judgments, there's the Final Corporate Judgment of 2 Bodies. Those souls who joined - Sealed themselves into CHRIST'S BODY. The other body, which enlarged itself, was never supposed to exist - hell, death, despair. "Separation from CHRIST." As a DAD/MOM, it breaks HIS Heart for those souls to choose separation/deception over HIM. But hell cannot exist forever. It's not EHYEH'S Plan.
That symbolism of eating as intimacy is the basis of the ritual of eating bread and drinking wine during holy communion, which we discussed in this episode: "How Spiritual Works" th-cam.com/video/HwQ6E5eGIhQ/w-d-xo.html&t And in this episode (the final video in our "God and Evil" series) Curtis talks about how God is working constantly to lead people away from hell and toward heaven: "God Is Always With Us" th-cam.com/video/3SXn-TCooXY/w-d-xo.html&t I hope those two videos can be helpful, and I'm sure we'll do more on this topic in the future!
You mean Hosea chapter 13, verse 16, Rick? Swedenborg doesn't address that verse specifically, but in general (according to the overall language of the Bible that he learned about) the things in that verse would be about a *spiritual* state (not anything in this earthly plane) that is bereft of truth and goodness, with all new and growing states of goodness destroyed by false notions. Something like that....
In the description under the video, you'll see a link to the full podcast -- "The Coming of Jesus and the Judgment Day," Salomon. Let us know if you don't see it.
@@offTheLeftEye I love you both so much, and have watched you for years. - (childhood) NDE experiencer. Thanks and Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year !
Why do some people have these Horrible experiences in Hell on Touching the afterlife. Where it's hotter than anything they have ever felt and utter torment. Screams and whaling. Why is anyone having these experiences?
People are not having hellish experiences in significant numbers. Unscrupulous people are using AI to generate large quantities of fake NDEs and flooding the internet with them. Some of these fake AI NDEs get 750K views in 2 days. Sad an immoral.
It's a great question, immortalblue. My thought is that it must be important for the individual's unique spiritual journey -- as must be the case with all NDEs. Does an experience like that give the person a new perspective, a new way to reflect on their life choices, a new inspiration for how they want to live their life? Those are just a few of my personal thoughts, but in the vein of the belief that God is leading us all to our highest possible happiness, in a completely unique and individual way, that's the only sense I can make of it! It does seem that most NDEs are more positive, and my prayers are with all, either way.
In your theology, does this last judgment take into consideration if someone had severe childhood trauma and acted out of a deep pain, fear, and sensitivity? I am asking for my late spouse because he sufferred with the disease of addiction and alcoholism due to severe childhood trauma and pain, and he did not always act the best way. From an outsiders perspective if you were watching a "movie" of him you might even see it as him being a total jerk/ a@$hole. I hope that in his life review there was God's Love, compassion and mercy for his deep pain and overwheming anxiety that he experienced in life 🙏. Anything less than that would seem cruel and unfair to him.
It is fairness itself. None will deny the justice of it. The mercy, the care, the comfort, the bliss and the peace. As for you, who have seen your husband's full life story, it will be even more surprising what you've learned through being his companion.
Love this little piece, also having Gregg on the other day, well. Just, Thank you for helping us all. Much Love ✌️🙏

It sure is what works, when you get to see it in yourself and then urgently wish to change

Of course, I mean that, but your explanation is poor to say the very least.
