- Hi! I'm Ellen, and this is my jazz dance prescreen for musical theater college auditions. I am not a dancer first (yet), but I love dancing and growing. If you don't consider yourself a dancer first, please know you can still pursue your dreams of going to MT College. It's hard work but you can do it!
Some tips:
1. If you're watching this, and you want to start dancing but you're scared that you can't, please just go for it. I made so many excuses and spent so much time being afraid to start dancing late when I could have been spending that time growing and learning to love dance!
2. Take classes anywhere you can! Find a studio where you feel safe; if you can't do that, then learn on TH-cam!
3. Don't be like me and wear a random dress (or if you do, wear tights with it lol). Go for something that stands out against your background, that you feel comfortable in, and MOST IMPORTANTLY something that makes you feel confident.
4. Take time to map out your story and practice until it becomes a part of your movement, just like any of the actual choreography's steps.
