Well Lauren my guitar finally came today - got it tuned up, went through the G-Em - C - and the D6/9 chords and finally made it through the song A Horse with No Name, it was a challenge and it was rough. Tomorrow I will work on the finger exercises and try the song again tomorrow
Got my first guitar yesterday and I have never played before. I found this so helpful. I will be working through these exercises every day to get some basic skills. She is so calm and everything is explained well so you know what you need to do even if you can't persuade your hands to do it yet. Excellent. Very likely to sign up for your full course shortly. I have just watch your beginner guitar lesson it was just amazing the way you teach beginners strumming and short guitar chords in just half and hour I picked up to strum and able change the chords. been watching this video over and over for a week now after work and strated playing again after an accident on my hand... where i had surgery on my fingers... But, making progress! :-) thanks for posting this! Very glad i found this!
I just want to agree with everyone ! I'm 61 with left hand and arm damage due to cancer. I have a missing artery from my left forearm n my left hand doesn't open completely but you teach with patience n options that I'm doing it. I've been searching with tears through other sites. I'm also learning that I can put my thumb in whatever position it wants to go in so my fingers listen to me. It's my ring n pinky that have the most trouble. However I just noticed if I place my fingers down from pinky to pointer then i have more flexibility n a better chance. I played intermediate level at 25 but Ive got to relearn ...grateful to find your site n will look at your lessons.
Sharon, when I had cancer I had to stop playing for a little while because of my fingertip sensitivity. I truly believe where there is a will there is a way. You’ve got this.

thank you for the video, I had trouble doing the C chords after cutting nearly 3 fingers on a table saw 5 years ago , they could not repair the cut tendon on my ring finger, haven't touch a guitar for 5 years, today at 87 years old I have decided to try playing again

2 Weeks in. I am practicing everyday, and I play by looking at my hands, and then by looking away and "feeling" the "spaces" (strings). I need to build up that muscle memory and coordination. And the brain also builds new pathways in this process.
I also do the spider exercise, but I started at frets 1, 2, 3, and 4, using index to pinky fingers. My hands are small so that pinky is hard 😁. But I'm doing it.
Super video like these get me back into the game. The exact view of the picking hand helped me the most. Keep going with this type of video. Maybe variations of the spider exercise would be helpful.

I opened your channel 30 min ago. I like already what is happening to me. I tried many years ago when i was younger and was made to hold on to the frets so tight. Maybe the kind of guitar required i do that. It was painfully hard. My friend who i was learning from was no good either.... So i gave up. With you Iam already in good hands. Thank you so much.

I have played in a band whaaaay back in time..i played the bass. This christmas i got a elektick guitar..ohh man i enjoy it !. I opened your channel 30 min ago. I like already what is happening to me. I tried many years ago when i was younger and was made to hold on to the frets so tight. Maybe the kind of guitar required i do that. It was painfully hard. My friend who i was learning from was no good either.... So i gave up. With you Iam already in good hands. Thank you so much.

I'm 57 just decided a couple days to try to learn a guitar so far you've made it the easiest to understand and it makes it simple thank you I really appreciate your Ability to make this easy to understand and keep it fun

That was great, I know 6 basic chords the normal way however this is good as well because I can make some quicker changes. I loved this video great for beginners

Thank you so much. I've been playing guitar for years. My great grand sons have asked me to teach them guitar, after I gave them each a guitar. I didn't know where to start, I sure didn't want to send them down the road to destruction lol. It can be very confusing for 2 ten year boys. So this was a great help and I will get them to check out your classes. I know they will enjoy and learn a lot
