Went to buy this game at launch with one of my best friends, and we pretty much beat the game 100% together. We both had some time off work and stayed at his house and just played this for days. Medallions, mercenaries, everything. He passed away some years ago. This video brought back some really good memories.
I beat this game with my son like 4-5 times. Best co-op experience we've ever had. I'll treasure these memories forever. Glad that you had the opportunity to share these witj your friend as well. May he rest in peace.

Resident Evil 5 was fun as hell regardless of it's over the top tone. Had a nice sense of grittiness that I appreciated compared to the other games of the series
The biggest thing that Capcom did right about RE5 is the fact you can invite your friend to play cooperative anytime similar to how Gears of War did for their campaigns.
So many good memories of this game. While not as great as RE4, RE5 is still one of the most fun coop games (coz f**k that partner A.I.) I played when it came out. Also roided out, boulder punching Chris is still best Chris. Still hoping for a Chris and Sheva reunion for the next Resident Evil.

I played 6 last year for the first time and I had waaaaay more fun with 6 than with 5 (also last year 1st playthrough). I know there are some stupid parts, but the controls feel way better and the part with Leon was really fun.

I have many fond but stressful memories of my friend being absolutely useless at QTEs. Running into the lasers, running clean down a hole instead of jumping it, fighting that giant dude...... And I got my revenge in all the same ways, only I watched my buddy become Alligator food many times lol. Great co-op experience.
21:40 The correct way to deal with that B.O.W is, as soon as you blow up a gas cylinder on it's face or throw an incendiary grenade on it, your partner has to immediately use the flame thrower on it so it stays in a tree like form showing its weak spots as you continuously shoot them with either shotgun, rifle or magnum. It take about a minute or two to kill it if you're playing co-op even on the hardest difficulty however, it's a little bit trickier while playing with CPU as you have do the most of it yourself

This is actually really funny because a week ago I beat this game for the first time because a friend of mine recommended it to me, we played it and had a blast. Best week of my life, joking around playing re5 together. This game is for friendships to be made I PROMISE, hell I even got scared of wesker and still managed to get a laugh at it. This is a really good thing to think about honestly.

RE2 Remake wasn't scary, but unsettling. RE3 Remake was creepy than scary. Only the new games are more unsettling than just "scary".
RE5 got judged too harshly. It was a fucking complete co-op fun game with offline and online features. Now a days can’t even play offline without day one patch and games are not even on the disc.

I played RE5 solo for 30 mins on PS4 and didn’t know whether I liked it or not. It was like RE4 on meth. If they decide to remake it I might just wait for that instead of venturing further into the original. Might give it one more chance. Only time will tell!

I know, the game has its flaws, but the controls feel like from a modern game and there are some real good parts (Hong Kong). RE6 just needed to cut some stretched out content (everything you have to visit twice) and it would be a real neat coop game. They just should have called it RE Doubleteam or something like that. Not Part 6 of the main line...

Fun fact: The Wesker fight has tons of fun melee QTE:s to use against him with sick combos, making it most fun to beat with only pistols and fists.

A few parts of Resident Evil 4 were still a little scary and had some horror atmosphere. This one is just pure action.
