This, by far, is the more simple/easy tutorial I have watched. Keep in mind that I haven’t tried it yet! 😉. We shall see right directly! Your colors/pattern are pretty together. Very nice💕
Great video. Thanks! This is the way I've been doing them or about the closest one to my method but I even like to snip the ends to get some wild action going! I use colored thread so that shows. Your video was so cool that I kept keeping my hand back from reaching up and patting it like you do! I never was able to use the sewing machine method to attach it and prefer hand sewn method. I wanted to see what kind of stitches other folks were doing. Beautiful rug. My grandma used to do it with her mom in the 'little house on the prairie' era.
love this finally found something I can do and your video is great cause it get right to how to do it not a ton of unnecessary yapping by someone who loves to talk lol....Thank you!!!
Appreciate your efforts and innovation. I suggest using a clothespin or large safety pin to hold end of braid as the needle might poke during the braiding process. Best of luck with your future projects.
I've done this with towels before. What the woman failed to tell u is that when u wash it it frays really bad. So if I do this with towels or old clothes or sheets, I will take the time to sew the strips so they don't fray when washing it. Or even wash by hand an hang or lay flat to dry. I want to make some oval ones to put on my floors in my living room an along the sides of my bed. 👍🏽 Good video!
I really appreciate this because the other tutorials with actual sewing of the braids together show it by machine. My machine sucks for that kind of thing, and you can't make a big enough rug for my ambitions with a sewing machine in the way anyway! So thank you!
I think that's a wonderful tribute to your parents, maybe it will help you as you grieve. I wish I had seen this after my mum died suddenly nine years ago. My father was so heartbroken he threw all of her clothes out in bags without asking anyone if they wanted anything. I don't blame him, he lost the love of his life. He passed three years ago on December third, I miss them both and wish I could make something like this. God bless you.
@z Calm down buddy! You do what you want and this guy can do what he wants They were his parents, and it's his choice. Just because it's a rug and it will be walked on, doesn't mean that he is being disrespectful to his parents if thats what you're getting at. These rugs turn out really nice if done well, I think he has a good idea. Even the act of crafting with the cloth can be therapeutic for him. At the end of the day they're just clothes, and he may in fact donate other articles that he doesn't make something with. Take your caps lock off, too. No need to be so uptight about a damn rug .
I'd probably choose dental floss as a thread for stitching the piece together. It's super strong and transparent. I use it all the time when making Teddy bears.
I really enjoy your idea I think it's the best I've ever seen for my Rags that I want to cut up into a rug but I surely enjoy your idea it's simple and you went straight to it everything is seen thank you so much for making it so easy for me.

If the fabric is good still, why not use it, and have something in your house that will make you think of them.
