Every used car dealer wants to buy cars which are high spec from factory as it’s easier for them to sell. However when you try to sell them your car you will be lucky to get an extra £1k for the spec over them buying a base model. They only ever pay bottom book. Buyer and seller beware. Just buy the features you want and will use.
Resale to other private buyers can be affected but not enough to cover all the extra options. Typically you'll get a few thousand more for carbon buckets, ceramics and to a lesser extent interior trim options. All in all, unless you are talking about reselling cars with near 0 kms, you'll be getting 10k more maximum. Options are great but as the op said buyer beware this isn't a good representation of value for money for example.
Beautiful car and good spec , a lot of gt4 s we’re not spect well enough because people thought they could flip them quickly but a well spect gt4 is beautiful
great video ... i realsied i had extras on my gt4 i did not know. Two options that are missing on this car are the door handles in black and ceramics painted in high gloss black (as if one cares considering the christmas list of options this has ). You forgot the PDC with rear camera. biggest option for a GT4 is buckets ... mine doesnt have it
Great video and a real eye opener - haven’t explored Porsche prices before and staggered to see what they charge for features that are standard on a £26k Mazda, wow!
Well done for keeping a straight face… throughout that forensic analysis of how the Porsche salesman went on holiday to some exotic island - on the back of putting that one deal together! (Apart from when you described the little bits of leather that are hidden when the doors are closed, and the other bits covering some random places around the dashboard & doors!). Can you imagine the very serious product planning team in Stuttgart, working out how hard they can push the price of every single item… and then thinking of a suitably complex and 'technical' name for it, so as to provide some justification?! Paying a king's ransom for LED headlights & dual-zone climate control… in the 21st century?!?! As someone else has already noted… you get more kit, as standard, on a mass-market hatchback or SUV. Whoever ordered this car had either just won the Lotto… or was drunk when playing with the online configurator. 😜 Next time you make one of these videos, please tell us the total price on the original order form… and, also, what you are asking for it - as a secondhand car.
I have 6 days left to spec my boxster S and I thought I loaded it up the way I want it but after watching this I have to call my salesman and spend more money 💰 Especially the steering column leather 🤑
I can see (maybe) ordering Nagaro Blue pts because they pull the car off the line to give it some TLC, but for my money, just order Shark Blue. Porsche has some artistic types who do a great job of choosing the best colors and making them standard so fewer cars take that extra two months to get to the dealership.
Great spec imo. The way I see it, if you're spending that amount of money on a car, you should spec it the way you want it! Don't see the point spending over £100,000 on a car and not spending the extra £20,000 odd having it the way you want it 🤔 Plus the obvious that when you do come to sell it, the resale will be so much better! Look at cars like the 675 LT and 600 LT where people didn't spec the roof scoop because of the price and now the roof scoop cars are worth so much more!
Beautiful car 🚙 Thomas specially as it shares about 80% of it's components with Porsche 911 for a much less price..👍 so somehow technically it's a gt3 but they call it gt4 🤪 is this Nagano blue something between blue blue 🔵 and baby blue💙 ?? my favorite: Satin black ⚫ wheels with yellow calipers 🟡 + colored seat bells 🔔 in shark blue 💙 + instrument dials and sports chrono in white ⚪.. but did you know Porsche can take you to court for throwing their fake leather logbook case? 😮 they are very sensitive on their products..😅 give us more of spectacular series please m8 ❤ Babak-tehran
This is a useful video giving more information than the Porsche configurator. (Even though the GT4 is no longer available.)

True for most cars but spec impacts resale significantly with Porsche GT cars (and other special editions).

Hi Tom, great video as always👌I saw this car in the flesh the weekend before last, absolutely beautiful, especially when the sun came out😍
Stunning 👍.
Thanks again 🇦🇺

insanely beautiful car
Usually I'm a Python Green man but Nogaro looks so good on this car.

Ironically all those must add up to more than £26k. By contrast my 19 year old Subaru doesn't know what a feature is, and I love it all the same!
Excellent video. Let’s have more please. Great format, great production. Btw when you’re used to Ferrari pricing these upgrades seem very reasonable.

you should use the voice isolation tool in davinci resolve to take the echo out of your audio :)
You could have given us the totals at the end! And how much you have the car up for sale 🤔 would have finished the video off better
100%
Hi Tom fantastic car
the black wheels are a bummer but I'll take it

12:25 yeet 😂
My fav
It is a nice compart car to drive. Most of the accessories are not really needed, if the value of the car is not going up in the future.
👌

Nose lift?
The black wheels ruin it.
why don't you have the long sleeve polos you wear made up with Romans international on in navy or white. they would look smart
Shame about the Black alloys🤮
I had to stop watching because the hand waving was just getting more and more distracting! For the love of god calm the hands down man.
Still a Boxster.
What’s crazy is how much of the 718 actually shares common part numbers with the 991.
Paint is not worth it.
That’s only your opinion
Agreed, looks like Shark Blue
Looks nothing like Shark Blue in person
Gt4 is basically slow and boring.
GT4RS ten times more exciting to drive
