Sorry I forgot to answer your question (I think I mentioned it in the video), that's part of my que (movies I need to watch and show in an update video before adding them to the collection). If you want to see how my set-up has changed recently just search for my Nerd Cave video. Thanks again for watching :)
That is quite a collection! When I saw the thumbnail I thought, he doesnt have that many. Then the camera pans haha. Some very nice additions such as the LOTR set, 2001, Taxi Driver, and that Citizen Kane!
Nice collection! I've got around 10,000 and still expanding! I must admit I'm jealous of US collectors as I'm a purist who prefers original aspect ratios and so many releases in OZ are either Pan-Scan or cropped widescreen, unlike most US releases. I actually have a multiregion Blu-Ray player (purchased from the US) just so I can purchase and watch releases not available in OZ.
You like sci-fi? Try The revised version of Doctor Who, also its spin off, torchwood. Its an ongoing series, Doctor Who, it is done it Britain, 7 series total with specials. It's a great TV Show. It has a long history, a little over 50 years. If you more info id gladly give it to you.
I really wish the UK had Mrs Doubtfire, love that film. I can import the French version Madame Doubtfire though if I really wanted too, lol. Would LOVE that Lion King steelbook too, but I can't get it over here. Moon is so underrated, I loved that one. This also reminded me to buy Napolean Dynamite on Blu-ray, really need to pick that up. I've had Bridge on the River Kwai for a few months, really need to watch it.
The Animatrix is really cool,i think you should give it a try.Actually(as a curiosity)Square Soft made the first short of Animatrix(Last flight of the Osiris).I think that was pretty cool.Just avoid the last short of Animatrix,it really sucks, but the other 8 short films are really good.
Man. Those Criterions. It almost depresses me! Then you drop in the fact you have Rushmore on Blu-ray :( I wish all Blu-rays and DVDs were Region free, I really want Freaks and Geeks too, one of my favourite TV shows of all time. But yeah...Kurosawa and Wes Anderson films on Criterion...so, so jealous.
Oh and to celebrate Universal's 100th Anniversary this year, it's been confirmed that E.T, Jaws and Schindlers List, among others, are being released on Blu-ray :)
You'll have to be more specific. There's a reason for every title that's in my collection. I enjoy buying things from time to time that I've never seen because it's fun (and it usually costs the same as a movie ticket). As far as movies I don't like being in my collection, they either came with a ticket to a movie I would've seen anyways (thus rendering the DVD/Blu-ray virtually free) or they were sent to me by a production company to review in a video.
Ugh...I didn't say you cared what I say or do. I wasn't talking about you. That being said, you did comment on the matter. Gosh golly gee wilikers (excuse my language, I know this offends people but I'm out of control)! I guess I'm just supposed to read people's comments complaining about nonsense and say nothing. Thanks for explaining that to me. I just felt that I could answer someone's direct (if stupid) question, seeing as interacting with people was the reason I created this channel.
Oh...my...word...who cares? I haven't told anyone that they shouldn't use curse words. I do not ever tell anyone to watch their language unless I'm joking around. All I care about now is that my kids don't learn these words. I choose not to use them. Does it look weird to you? I don't care. That's how I choose to talk, I have never brought up the topic of swearing. I've never told anyone how to speak, why is everyone constantly questioning me because of this. Just drop it, please. It's annoying.
Both of the words bastard and ass have legitimate definitions which allow me to use them as non-curse words. In the case of the movie Inglorious Basterds, they're referring to the fact that the Jewish soldiers are misbegotten (figuratively not literally). In the case of Kick A__, they're not talking about kicking donkey-like farm animals. They're using it as a curse word. When everyone else on YT is dropping F-bombs every other sentence, I'm not sure why people care so much about me not cursing.
There's plenty of classics. Go to my channel page and look at the links on the right hand side. One says 'My Movie Collection". That takes you right to my aficionados page where you can see every title in my collection. I own over 100 Criterions, every Alfred Hitchcock film on DVD and some of the Blu-ray releases, every Akira Kurosawa film available on DVD and Blu-ray as well as many others. Some purchased after this video and many shown during this video. I keep getting similar comments to this
I know, it seems kind of pointless. I'd love to see them invest those resources into getting SG:1 on Blu-ray. Heck maybe even on a new series. They never should have shut down Atlantis. It made no sense. They cancel it and say they're going to finish the story line in a movie and then they start a new series and never make the Atlantis movie...ridiculous. I hate MGM for this. They were supposed to make a third SG1 movie as well. Very sad.
Actually, the entire series of Stargate Atlantis came to Blu-ray in June of 2011. I own it now, but I didn't get it until after this video was filmed. I've recently seen the individual seasons for sale in Best Buy as well. I'm still waiting on the release of season two of Stargate Universe on Blu-ray. I remember two years ago MGM said that SG:1 would never get a Blu-ray release, but I'm hoping it will happen someday. MGM has a gem in this Stargate franchise and they've squandered it in many ways
Or, you could stop telling people how to live their lives. I'm pretty darn good at sticking to a strict budget. My wife and I each have money set aside for spending each week and we don't go over that amount. If we weren't spending our money wisely I doubt we'd own a house and two cars and have no debt outside of student loans and a mortgage. I shouldn't have to explain this, it's nobody's business. Also, FYI we have a few hundred diapers already. Go troll somewhere else.
Well the one's I purchase in the stores I meticulously look through for the one in the best condition. However, most of the movies I buy I get on Amazon. They have a really good return policy. If something comes to me damaged ask for an exchange. They usually ship it next day to me. I have about 150 spare Blu-ray cases in my closet, if the wrapping sticks to the case and damages it, I just toss it out and put everything in a new case. I don't like to have anything damaged in my collection :)
Flags of Our Father's wasn't that bad. Steven Spielberg only produced it and he's produced a lot of stinkers along with a lot of great films. Clint Eastwood is one of my favorite actors and directors. This is far from his worst film, he's made a bunch of movies I can't stand (Hereafter, True Crime, The Gauntlet etc.). I'm glad to hear you like a lot of the same movies I do. Thanks for watching my video :)
This is the third comment you've made saying the exact same thing. I guess you forgot that you already commented on it and received my answer. Well, I'll give it to you again. Yes, I am a collector. Collectors collect things. I happen to also love movies, so I have chosen to collect editions of films. Is that okay? Some people collect antiques or stamps or baseball cards...I like to collect movies. Have a nice day :)
@MrThomas432 First of all, thank you very much for the nice compliments I'm glad you enjoyed the video :) There are a few adult cartoons I like. I enjoy the Simpsons, especially the first 6 seasons before they hired new writers. I love Futurama, although I don't think the newest season can stack up against the early ones (hopefully it'll get better). I also love King of the Hill, I'm hoping that somehow someway they'll release the entire series in one set. If thy do that I'll buy it.
@bla87 awesome suggestion, I will definitely check that out. Right now I'm not purchasing anything until I clear out most of my 'que' (large box full of movies I haven't watched). When I start buying again I will have a list ready to pick out some great titles. Other than the criterion collection I'm looking to finish my Alfred Hitchcock collection. I have a lot of them in my que so I'll be talking about them in my DVD updates for awhile. Thanks for the comment :)
I don't think you should buy the complete set of LOST on Blu Ray. I have the set and even though the set is cool the packaging part that actually holds the discs are cardboard and just way taller than any other dvd or blu ray. Also the sleeves they slide into loosens up and the discs fall out when you open them. I am going to buy some Blu Ray cases to hold them in because they are atrocious. I love the set but the sleeves that hold them are terrible. BTW you are correct Enterprise is excellent.
You're right, how dare I spend my hard earned money on movies when I could be paying for other people who choose not to work for a living...get a life. I donate 10% of every dollar I earn to my church, I trust them to use it wisely to benefit our community and the world. Use the time you're spending criticizing me to go out and do something constructive.
Band of Brothers and The Pacific are amazing HBO miniseries' about WWII. They were both produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. In my opinion Band of Brothers is the greatest war movie of all time (even though it isn't technically a movie). I like it even more than Saving Private Ryan. I highly recommend both of these series.
I just never really got into the Harry Potter series. I did see the first two films when they were first released (I borrowed the VHS from the library, back then I only owned about 5 DVDs). I liked them, but never bought the films. I do plan on watching the rest of the series at some point in the future. Thanks for watching my video :)
if the "Lord" existed, people might be less inclined to use his name in vain. As it is, people who aren't religious can say "Jesus" all they want, and there's no reason for them to have to censor themselves for your sake. Enforcing your way of life on the rest of us is "truly offensive." Great collection though, liked and favorited.
@Bluray1001 I have 244 in my official collection (counting each tv season and box set as 1). I also have 78 in my 'que' (a stack of movies that I need to watch and show in an update video before they become a part of my official collection). So total I own 322 Blu-rays. I started collecting them in late 2009.
@TheYesMan30 Yep, I want everything in my collection to be in mint condition. I love Columbo, I've wanted the DVDs for awhile and was unaware they were available in a complete set. I also like Murder She Wrote, but they're hard to find in good condition in any of the retail stores in my area. Thanks for the nice comment :)
(2 of 2) Lost is my all time favorite show that isn't a comedy. Ashley and I watched the whole series since day 1 and it was spectacular. Have you seen the preview for JJ Abrams new thriller tv show Alcatraz? It's gonna be amazing. Stars Sam Neill and the dude who played Hurley in lost! Great criterion dude!
Have you ever looked at the Colombia Best Pictures set? Its a collection of 11 Colombia pictures films that won Best Picture awards. I know you have Bridge On the River Kwai which is part of the set. Not sure if you have the others. Its an awesome set. Just bought it myself and was blown away by the set.
not only is E.T. Coming to Blu-Ray it will be the original theatrical release only which i thought Spielberg would give it the Close Encounters treatment using seamless branching between the different versions but it is best that the original comes out only because that is the version that everyone knows and loves
I'm not really a fan of adult swim. The only show on there I actively watch is Venture Bros. I of course like Futurama and King of the Hill as well. I own four or five different editions of Shawshank as it's one of my favorite films of all time. I also own Red Dawn, I do not have Trainspotting.
I'm married and I have a relationship with God, but I choose not to say curse words because I don't like to say curse words. It's just my personal preference. It doesn't mean I'm in favor of censorship and I'm not sure why everyone makes such a big deal about it.
Your comment is a little hard to understand, but I'll do my best. At the time I filmed this video season 1 & 2 of Big Bang Theory were only available on DVD. I do own them and they are in this video. Every season that was released at the time is in this video.
Do you mean how long have I been collecting? That's kind of a complicated answer. I've really been collecting DVDs since 2001 and Blu-rays since 2009. I collected VHS from the early 90's until 2001, but that collection wasn't very large and I gave them all away.
ugh...do you go up to people in best buy and say the same thing to them? Just mind your business dude. I post these videos for the enjoyment of people who watch them. I'm not looking for advice on how to spend my money. This is your last chance to stop being a douche.
I'm not a big fan of NCIS, I tried to watch it a few times, but those crime dramas are just a dime a dozen and I don't care too much for them. I'd rather watch true life mystery shows. For example, 20/20, Dateline, Dominique Dunn, Forensic Files, Body of Evidence etc.
I didn't say you were jealous. It's a collection, I don't have to watch them all every day to enjoy them. I like having multiple editions of my favorite films. Everyone has different hobbies and interests. I suppose your interests include judging people based on their TH-cam videos.
@WonderBooks Thanks!! I love Sliders, my family used to watch the new episodes each week when it first came on tv. I own the first 3 seasons, but I need to watch them and put them in a DVD update before they go into the collection. Thanks so much for the nice comment :)
Wow, Awesome collection!!! You have so many great Tvshows! I had never seen the Home Improvement Box, it looks cool!! Quantum Leap is awesome, I also loved Sliders (did you watch this one)! The Office is Hilarious :) TMNT are cool! Fantastic, thanks for showing:D
@BlackRoc6 Twin Peaks is a masterpiece. One of the best sci-fi shows in existence. It has similarities to the X-Files and Fringe, but at it's core it's unlike anything else. I am looking to get the entire series at some point, I just need to find it in perfect condition.
@Rchattaway87 I did see the tv spots for Alcatraz. I can't wait for it. I think you really need to check out Fringe if you haven't already. It's a really good JJ Abrams show. There's one episode that makes a Twin Peaks reference that will have you rolling on the floor
@filmdumb I love the show. Sorry I'm so defensive, this week several people have proclaimed that I'm ignorant because of my taste in movies. They cited the fact that my collection video from three years ago doesn't contain enough classic material. They refuse to watch my newer videos.
(1 of 2) Highly enjoyable video dude! I want to watch Stargate so bad. The thing is I can get my hands on some of those series for a good price. Home Inprovement series is my number one thing I want right now. I'm getting ready to re-alphabetize my entire collection and get a new overview filmed.
It kills me that people like you will watch a video and look for one thing to complain about. Why does the fact that I try my hardest never to use curse words bother you? In the future, please leave the Lord's name out of it. That's truly offensive.
I didn't know if you knew or not but the five seasons of Stargate: Atlantis are being released on blu-ray on November 27th. Didn't know if you'd be interested or not since you were talking about getting Stargate: Universe on blu-ray.
It's the original cartoon. I did see Man of Steel and while there were parts of it I liked, overall it wasn't really that great. I'm judging it on it's own merits, not comparing it to the Christopher Reeve films
Must be new to my channel. I'm obsessed with LOTR. I reviewed the extended edition box set before it was even released. It is in this video, on top of the dark colored shelves next to the Stargate collection.
I'm censoring you in the comments of "my" video. I make these for free and for the enjoyment of anyone who wishes to watch. All I ask is that you refrain from insulting me while you're here. Don't think that's too much to ask.
I picked it up at a local retailer. I don't think you have Amazon in Australia, but it's available from them for 45.99 USD. If you know someone in the US they could forward it to you if you're willing to pay shipping
I'm seeing that now. I don't understand what the point is of doing a re-release of the series again in November. Maybe because it was just a Best Buy exclusive when they released each season individually.
Really like your collection. I'm the same way when it comes to alphabetizing my collection as well. I have a non blu-ray question for you though. How are do you make that banner for your name above your video?
Well, that's the sound effect of a transporter beam from Star Trek as that's the theme of my channel. Turn your speakers/headphones down. First complaint after thousands and thousands of views...
i can't understand why u people complain about his collection. some people do collect games, some people shoes etc. nothing is free. everyone likes something. i want blu-ray collection like that!
I had all the harry potter movies except the 2 deathly hallows movies until the discs for the first one peeled apart the silver layer was rotted...and the glue holding it togeather came unglued...
The reason the lookout was so cheap is because it is a re release by Echo bridge entertainment, the orignal DVD and blu ray went out of print when Miramax got bought out because they ran out of money...
That's what just about every other video I make is like. This one is just to show everything as quickly as I could and it still took a half hour. Try watching any of my other videos...
Well, my wife and I are pretty good at sticking to our budget. We each get a small amount to spend on whatever we like each week and I usually choose to buy movies with my money.
I do have some of those. You need to be more accepting of others. Not everyone is going to have the same likes and dislikes as you, but that doesn't give you the right to insult them.
@ChillPilgrim1138 Moon is a very underrated film, great acting and direction. The story is awesome and the effects are good too. I'm surprised this film seems to be so unknown.
@rame313 I'm sorry, I mis-read your comment. I liked it. Great acting in it, but it's a little tough to watch at some points because of the subject matter. Good film.
I just haven't had the opportunity to see it yet. I know it's getting a Blu-ray release soon so I will give it a watch when I'm able to get my hands on it.
Same here, it's nice to have a big library of films to select from. Plus, my friends love it. They come over and can watch almost anything they can think of.
It doesn't matter. I don't know why my collection upsets you so much. It's what I enjoy doing. If you have other interests feel free to make a video about them.
I've watched every movie in my collection at least once and yes I do watch the one's I love many times. It is about collecting for me as well as my love of movies.
@99RatedR The only DVDs I buy are things that are unavailable on Blu-ray. I still have a big stack of DVDs that I need to watch for future update videos though.
@wetmovie1 thanks buddy, I need to get some theater seating like you have, where did you get yours? Someday I hope to have a collection as epic as yours :)
@Maverick1701A Oh, I didn't know that. If I can find the individual Blu-ray sets for a good price I'll get them instead. I'm glad you're a fellow Enterprise fan :)
@RazorwireReviews That's awesome, I love all of those films. I've wanted to re-watch Schindler's List for awhile now. I may have to wait for the Blu-ray now :)
Seriously dude? Why are you being like this? I'm a pretty nice guy if you would take the time to get to know me. FYI, I have a wife and a baby on the way.
You asked me what all of the Blu-rays on the left were at 14:30. My que is a collection of films I need to watch so that I can add them to the collection.
I have both editions. Not really a huge fan of the film. I think it's an artistic masterpiece, but I have a hard time watching it. It's really powerful.
You said that the cut out nudity makes you happy, lol. I'm not sure why? Any backstory that I'm missing for that? I just started checking out your stuff.
Very amazing that collection of yours, compared to you i´m an amateur, only got 468 DVD and 192 Blu-ray. But one thing hope you can share with us, how come you buy films you don´t like or even not watching them before buying ém. In my case i love every one of my DVD and Blu-rays. Any way, i don´t want to sound rude, but i just want all of us collectors to be responsible buyers. Keep increasing that beautiful collection. Cheers !!
What is Band of Brothers and the Pacific? I've seen them both at a pawn shop but never got them because I didn't know what they were. I also plan on buying the Lost and Breaking Bad series on Blu Ray since I have never seen any of them yet. I have like 200 blu ray movies, but I never really watch movies anymore apart from some blockbusters once in a while. I just find tv shows and watch them now.
Your collection blows my mind! Just so amazing man. Really very amazed :). I keep my DVDs when I get the blu-ray too! It's because they are normally worth nothing, if anything I'd either give them to my parents/siblings (leaving them at home) or to friends. I hope you don't mind me asking, as you didn't mention it in the video (I think) but how many blu-rays/DVDs do you own? Once again, GREAT collection!
I love it. I'm a huge Fringe Fan! In my alternate Universe Olivia's my wife and in this universe, I'm her future husband... she just doesn't know it yet. Breaking Bad, great. I'm not sure if I saw 24 in your collection, but you should watch it. It's the greatest. Oh and is Twin Peaks good? At Big Lots they have Twin Peaks Season one and Two for six bucks... So is it good like Fringe and the X-Files? Does it deal with the "strange?" Well great up date. See ya.
I can't speak for every dvd or blu ray fan, but I have collected movies dating back to the days of vhs tapes. Only I like dvds & blu rays better for many reasons. One you don't half to wait in line at the movies, two you can watch your fav scene over & over again & my most fav reason are the special features that you can get no where else!
Impressive collection. I have to ask, how is it that all of your cases are in such awesome condition? Do you mainly purchase at B&M stores so you can get the best copy? The OCD part of me commends your setup and the excellent condition of your colleciton. Sorry if you answered this but I didn't have time to watch the whole video. Take care!
what makes DVD bullshit, you do realise the only differnce from a dvd & a blu-ray is a slightly different picture & sound, you do realise the only reason blu-ray exists isn't to better the quality its to get more money off eejits who are willing to spend money they don't have on the same thing. lol so as for dvd being bullshit i don't think so man lol :)
I agree that zigfroid is very insulting....one thing to comment & another....I'm sure if someone told him his works are garbage he wouldn't like it. No one really has a right to be condescending...just say that it is bad without the added crap. Remember, karma will return to you when you 'hurt' someone or their work...
Sorry I forgot to answer your question (I think I mentioned it in the video), that's part of my que (movies I need to watch and show in an update video before adding them to the collection). I had Seinfeld seasons 1-2 and 3 for a while, I recently picked up rest of them for 3,50€ each :D

Awesome video man, absolutely loved it, thanks for putting it up! Your taste in films and TV is 10/10 in tune with mine I think, heh
this may be a stupid question but do you actually watch each TV show and movie? or is your collection just for show?
Wow! what an amazing Blu-ray and DVD collection.

That's truly offensive.
also thank you for alphabetically ordering me that pisses me of when people don't hahah x
I watch the movies in my collection over and over again. The ones that I don't watch a lot are usually cheap ones that I spent little to nothing on.
@AlandoBlanco Yes, like I said in the video those are the films I still need to watch. I don't put anything into the collection that I haven't seen.
You said that the cut out nudity makes you happy, lol. I'm not sure why? Any backstory that I'm missing for that? I just started checking out your stuff.
@robbiewwebster Shit, sorry about that dude-I totally commented on the wrong video.I need to get my glasses fixed lol.Awesome collection by the way!
On a regular DVD, probably $35 on Sabotage Premier Edition. If you're talking Blu-rays, boxsets or other multi disc editions that's another story.
@frediosar I think I've heard of Dark Angel, but never watched it. You should definitely keep watching the stargate franchise. It's fantastic :)
nice collection ive got no steelbooks as of yet im hoping to get star treks in steelbook format they are rereleasing every film
Do you have the Batman animated series?(the cool one from the 90s.
You seems to be an awesome guy! Congrats for the coming baby!!! :)
Thanks! Clint Eastwood is great and I love Pale Rider. He's not only one of my favorite actors, but also one of my favorite directors :)
That's completely untrue. The picture on Blu-ray actually contains more than twice as many pixels as a DVD and the sound is much better.
See ya.
I got Band Of Brothers too and I must agree with you, dude. It's the greatest war movie of all time, totally blowned away by that one
Thank you, I'm happy with it. I changed the layout a bit since this video. See my Nerd Cave tour video if you want to check it out :)
@AlandoBlanco The only stuff I have sealed is the office sets and the Lost sets and I explained why they're sealed in the video.
Awesome update dude! Is that Modern Vampires the movie with Casper Van Dien & Kim Catrall? Over here its called Reveny, really good film :)
