In D&D there is a classic monster called Gelatinous Cube. Which doesn't melt but just devours the inanimate weapons and you can see it floating inside of it. It's also transparent. That's why it adapts, because suddenly, it contains a pointy stick inside and might stab someone.
When talking about the beezapper 4000 you mention that if an attack is cancelled the character can attack again, this is wrong. Yesterday i played paladin, with truesilver champion equipped and also had the old card "blackguard" (the one that deals damage to enemy minions whenever you are healed). It can be “draw a card or discover a spell from your deck” and a condition can be there that every time you discover a spell, it’s health reduces by 2. Similar to the mage weapon we have now.
Baby Krush in Battlegrounds used the idea of summoning a minion to attack the minion before attacking, which works better because of the auto-battler mechanic. If the minion dies before Baby Krush can get their attack off, their attack is just skipped altogether.
Trump: I'm not docking points for using old mechanics, but this Adapt mechanic made thematic sense with those Un'Goro minions only. The constant pauses in animation for summoning the bees might get annoying though. There are some questions about how this'd work with stuff like Freezing Trap as well. Contract Killer: I'm not a fan of stealth as it's a broken mechanic. The contract reward doesn't feel that exciting (I know, you get paid with a coin, I getchu). The secretly picking stuff was a Druid only thing, wasn't it? Overall, the target picking stuff feels tacked on only for the flavor. It makes the card a little complicated for not a lot of gain. Often there'd be no real gameplay twist provided by the ability of this card because A) it has stealth, so killing it before it kills something is very hard, so you can most likely fulfill your contract anyway and B) there will be times when you play this with only one enemy minion in play and then the secret won't even be a secret to anyone. I feel like the card is lacking because of this and could be improved. Right now, looking at how it practically works, it might as well say "When this kills a minion, add a Coin to your hand." for a simpler design with less chaff or say "Deathrattle: Add a Coin to your hand." because it's likely to die in combat anyway. Felmage Khadgar: Not much to say here, simple but novel ability, I like it. Hungry Student: Heh, I can see the whacky stuff going on with this, I like. It might have too much health for a murloc. Suppress Pain: Simple, clean, on flavor. I like. Might be hard to remember that the minion can't die from damage on your turns though. Deep Sea Turtle: Why is this top of the week? lol The effect seems kind of random and not fitting. Eh. It also might just freeze the thing that attacked it because it can hardly kill anything with its 1 attack, somewhat wasting its ability for that turn. It's like Voodoo Hexer but more complicated, unless you went for some deathrattle synergy stuff.
I think you may have misread Felmage Khadgar. My reading is that spell power would also increase the attack granted by the Demon Hunter hero power as well. Not sure if that changes how the card would perform that much, but it's a thought.
I think Vesh is pretty solid considering that tossing buffable minions into the board as Shaman, specifically as a finisher in the end game as an aggressive Murloc deck, is a valuable effect. It's no where near useless. If you manage to push hard early on you can drop Vesh on turn 7 and most answers will be clumsy. It's also near perfect flavor wise on top of that.
i think contract killer actually has a problem. the way hearthstone works, your opponent would be able to see which minion you target, which kinda gets rid of the cool part of the card. im sure you could technically do it in a way where they wouldnt be able to tell, but you should never ever be at a disadvantage because of how you play cards.
Oh Mr. Trump, they fixed the canceled attack thing waaaay back with the Blackguard / truesilver champion combo. I used to run that deck but they nerfed it same patch by fixing the thing you're talking about!
I actually really like Plague Lord Vesh, but it wouldn't work at this point. It would've had to have been released when murloc quest shaman was a thing.
Even then... It's a weird design. Since Warrior has no synergy with Murlocs (Instead, it has anti-synergy due to many murlocs having 1 hp and Warrior doing a lot of Whirlwind effects) and Shaman doesn't have good ways to ping their own stuff to get value from the card before the opponent trades into it with a big minion/spell. It would have made more sense if it was just a Shaman card and was something like "Whenever you Overload a mana crystal, summon a random murloc"
@@thefireofthefox1 Anyfin Can Happen is a Paladin card... Also, EVEN then, as a "Refill Card" it still has the problem that Shaman can't ping it to actually "Refill" so it'd get traded into with big minions/cards/transformed and thus not get much value. The only place the card could work, is against aggro/zoo but it costs 7, if you get to turn 7 against an aggro deck you've typically already won (Thus any other 7 mana taunt would also work in this situation, like Siamat, Evasive Drakonid, Furious Ettin, Bog Creeper or Bonechewer Vanguard)
10:25 Contract Killer sadly i dont think hearthstone is evolved to the point where you can target something on the board without your opponent noticing.
Long time ago i designed a card and posted on hearthpwn that was very similar to "hungry student". The difference is that it was a warlock card and it discarded the card, also i made it a 4/2 for 4 if i remember correctly.
My only problem with Contract Killer, is the targetable arrow animation displayed to the opponent when targeting something. In comparison to Fatespinner Chromatic Egg and Jandice, the arrow really affects the card's effectiveness
The ability for the Beezapper 4000 to attack again if it's initial target only had 1 health is a feature of the design, not a bug. That's the upside for the fact that the card is understatted. It could probably be a 2/3, or maybe even a 1/4. Heck, I think a 1/4 with this effect would be kinda cool. A low cost minion that is especially efficient at removing low health minions.
fun fact: in previous videos, some cards (not all) had an old keyword, but was made for that expansion. this would've let them have a better design score, but trump apparently didn't read what expansion it came from.
my man out here still holding it down when blizzard put actual rod of roasting in the game still calling some cards too far fetched, shine on you crazy trump
I actually like Antonidas the Tutor. It may not have much practical use in the current meta, but it's got some worth the way it is. Draw only spells while he's alive, and when you get the spells you need, kill him off.
Well I think Antonidas could see play in some combo decks, some spell burn decks, some spell damage decks (when you have enough spell damage setup, you try to find your damage spells and boom)
16:13 One thing to note it does not specify until the end of the turn so in theory if it were to be made it would be a constant on your turn, just some wording the creator probably should adjust otherwise it makes some minions REALLY good at trading if your opponent doesnt have a way to remove them on their turn
Antonidas would have a cool interaction with stuff like Luna's Pocket Galaxy and maybe in some sort of fatigue mage. Since you CANT draw minions, they should stay in your deck
I'd make Ooze Cat "Destroy your Weapon, play a random Secret for every durability your weapon had left". In a way, exchanging your weapon for control. And it's at least more in flavor, since Hunter's main weapon is secret based, and cats are secretive.
He forgot to do his trademark "design X stars balance X stars" for that particular card. After all the negative points he mentioned he did downgrade the design to 1 star so what you see in the video is correct I just didnt realize he mentioned the 3 star rating earlier otherwise I would have cut that. The balance rating is just my guess based on the stuff he said btw. ~Jens
I think it should be changed to "for the rest of the game, spell power can improve...". but that might be op or reminicent of that old 2/2 prince that buffed all your minions in deck
Plague Lord Vesh is so close to being useful. Just add Rush and I guarantee it would see play in Big Shaman in Wild. Also, maybe Felmage Khadgar should come with Spell Damage +1 himself to make him more workable in DH. It would boost cards like Eye Beam and Soul Cleave.
I think that the 3 drop that makes weapons cost armour would be good in bomb warrior. Each hero power is a potential 2 mana discount on your next weapon
If you want to cheat out a 4 mana weapon, you'd first need to invest 4 mana in hero powers without getting attacked, and then invest three mana in playing a 1/6. It'd be garbage. The only way it'd actually be efficient is if you used spells that generate armor, like Shield Block. But again, you're paying three mana on that and three mana on a 1/6 to draw one card and "cheat out" a 4 mana card. It's bad value card for card, it's bad tempo, and it's unreliable.
@@driftwisp2797 Im not talking about purposely hero powering for the card, i just think we are already seeing the warrior hero power with spare mana a lot.
That card that lets you only draw spells would be cause some serious coding issues. What happens when you don't have any spells left in your deck and you try to draw a card? Would you just not draw anything? Would you get fatigue damage with cards left in your deck? Either way it would be bizzare behavior

"Female Khadgar"
"HE can finally be HIMSELF"
You tried
Antonidas the Tutor would have been pretty INSANE with Luna's pocket galaxy.
9:00 Helper Bot from KeyForge making his way in Hearthston via custom cards! XD
I think you may have misread Felmage Khadgar. My reading is that spell power would also increase the attack granted by the Demon Hunter hero power as well. Not sure if that changes how the card would perform that much, but it's a thought.
That pun in the end deserves a like
I think Vesh is pretty solid considering that tossing buffable minions into the board as Shaman, specifically as a finisher in the end game as an aggressive Murloc deck, is a valuable effect. It's no where near useless.
If you manage to push hard early on you can drop Vesh on turn 7 and most answers will be clumsy. It's also near perfect flavor wise on top of that.
17:27 A (2) mana 1/4 beast with Taunt. Yea this would fit perfectly into Hearthstone, which is known to power crap Silverback Patriarch. Love it.
i think contract killer actually has a problem. the way hearthstone works, your opponent would be able to see which minion you target, which kinda gets rid of the cool part of the card. im sure you could technically do it in a way where they wouldnt be able to tell, but you should never ever be at a disadvantage because of how you play cards.
you could balance hungry student by stipulating the mana cost ie mana cost 6 or under
Oh Mr. Trump, they fixed the canceled attack thing waaaay back with the Blackguard / truesilver champion combo. I used to run that deck but they nerfed it same patch by fixing the thing you're talking about!
Antoninas the Tutor would also disable drawing cards after all spells have been drawn, in a way, he can prevent fatigue as well.
I'd assumed that if you tried to draw but had no spells left you'd just start fatiguing even if you had minions in deck
@@tarille1043 The point would be to be a refill card to go with anyfin can happen and would be the only taunt in the deck afaik.
10:25 Contract Killer
sadly i dont think hearthstone is evolved to the point where you can target something on the board without your opponent noticing.
Could work if it just brought up the minions like it's a discover mechanic.
@@davidbodor1762 are there any cards with more than 4 discover options? With 7 board spaces it is not possible as well.
if its discover, then it'd be like your picking the contract makeing it have more flavor
Long time ago i designed a card and posted on hearthpwn that was very similar to "hungry student". The difference is that it was a warlock card and it discarded the card, also i made it a 4/2 for 4 if i remember correctly.
Love the Contract Killer so cool
8:20 Last time he said this, they made Lorekeeper Polkelt. So now you know what you might find in the new expansion
9:36 the cancel attack thing was solved within truesilver champion and dark guard combo
fun fact: in previous videos, some cards (not all) had an old keyword, but was made for that expansion. this would've let them have a better design score, but trump apparently didn't read what expansion it came from.
I never saw them put the little imprint on the card which shows what set its from.
@@h3110legomaster > some
Trump gave Felmage Khadgar one star on both, expect the card to be added to the next expansion.
my man out here still holding it down when blizzard put actual rod of roasting in the game still calling some cards too far fetched, shine on you crazy trump
I actually like Antonidas the Tutor. It may not have much practical use in the current meta, but it's got some worth the way it is. Draw only spells while he's alive, and when you get the spells you need, kill him off.
The Antonitis card would be insane with the New C'thun if the pieces were the only spells in your deck
Well I think Antonidas could see play in some combo decks, some spell burn decks, some spell damage decks (when you have enough spell damage setup, you try to find your damage spells and boom)
You said 3 stars for design on Felmage Khadgar, but it showed 1 star.
Heck yeah glad to catch this early always look forward to every upload
16:13 One thing to note it does not specify until the end of the turn so in theory if it were to be made it would be a constant on your turn, just some wording the creator probably should adjust otherwise it makes some minions REALLY good at trading if your opponent doesnt have a way to remove them on their turn
That could be the point? I don't know creator intentions, but I see what you mean. That might be a little strong for just 2 mana.
Ayy yo the thumbnail hitting different 😳
Best bait and switch I’ve ever seen
5:06 i can see the card as a staple in pirate/odd/ any control warrior that runs weapons
A lot of these would be so good in dungeon or arena
11:28 Female Khadgar xD
Jens, you are a treasure!
I could see Plague Lord Vesh being Shaman Paladin because both big taunt and murlocs
Antonidas would have a cool interaction with stuff like Luna's Pocket Galaxy and maybe in some sort of fatigue mage. Since you CANT draw minions, they should stay in your deck
Contract Killer's secret mechanic wouldn't work because the opponent would be able to see the red arrow while they're playing it.
Jens, your editing is so good my god. Female Khadgar had me laughing so hard.
I'd make Ooze Cat "Destroy your Weapon, play a random Secret for every durability your weapon had left".
In a way, exchanging your weapon for control. And it's at least more in flavor, since Hunter's main weapon is secret based, and cats are secretive.
12:52 Didn't he say that the Design is 3 Stars?
He forgot to do his trademark "design X stars balance X stars" for that particular card. After all the negative points he mentioned he did downgrade the design to 1 star so what you see in the video is correct I just didnt realize he mentioned the 3 star rating earlier otherwise I would have cut that.
The balance rating is just my guess based on the stuff he said btw.
~Jens
@@TrumpSC Alright, thanks for the reply
The design is terrible, i agree with the 1-star assumption
I think it should be changed to "for the rest of the game, spell power can improve...". but that might be op or reminicent of that old 2/2 prince that buffed all your minions in deck
11:37
I was JUST thinking about making that an effect a few days ago, the heck?
Simple, make Ooze Cat a Demon Hunter card that adds +2 attack to your hero when it eats a weapon.
That Khadgar image is hilarious
It's the second time Trump allows old keywords. I wonder how long it'll last this time
I think that Antonidas would fit right in with a C'thun/Yogg mage that could even run waygate in wild
This video is part of history now
Trump: Design 1 star
Blizzard designer: I have found a new card idea
That card that lets you only draw spells would be cause some serious coding issues. What happens when you don't have any spells left in your deck and you try to draw a card? Would you just not draw anything? Would you get fatigue damage with cards left in your deck? Either way it would be bizzare behavior
