Just discovered your channel. As a native Californian who has spent time up north I appreciate all the great beauty! People tend to think of San Francisco when you hear Northern California but this is really true Northern California. It’s far more beautiful than a busy filthy city like San Francisco or Los Angeles.
@@livinginhumboldtcounty I had a great time except the high school was over crowded and we had split shifts........if you lived out of town, you went in the morning and in town went in the afternoon.
Thanks for making this. I desperately want to move back! I used to live on 16th and G. It's so nice to see the Plaza again. I moved there back in 2001 all because of the Arcata Plaza Cam that was online. That was all I needed to move from East Coast to West back then. I really want to go back!
The only rough thing is the real-estate prices are crazy up there! They don’t usually build new homes very often. Apartment rent is super cheap! We lived in a nice complex in Mckinleyville for less that a grand a month.
@@livinginhumboldtcounty We do. We've been in Humboldt for a year n a 1/2 We have a home in Eureka & work in Eureka - i love how you set up your channel - it's definitely worth a follow even for home owners. I'll recommend this to those looking for a home 👍🏽 Keep up the great work 👊🏽
hello! my husband is an electrician with years of experience, and lately I've thinking about to work from home... do you think we can live comfortable like that or it would be hard for us ? we want to move to Eureka
Well that depends on what your idea of a fun night life is! There are always opportunities to see live music, lots of festivals, breweries, cider bar, wine tasting rooms, theaters with live performances, comedy bar, and markets. My personal favorite is the Friday Night Market in Old Town Eureka! Every Friday in the summertime. If you want a small town vibe with lots going on, this is a great place for you! However if you’re used to a big city, it may feel like limited options.
I grew up in Arcata, left after graduation 1960! It's changed so much, sadly! So many WOKE people! McKinley statue gone from plaza. My family house on 299 no longer! Big Four, Bella Vista gone! Businesses around plaza not the same. Humboldt State now Cal Poly! Nope, can't go back!
McKinley was a racist asshole towards indigenous people, that's why his statue was taken down. To be woke means to be aware and empathetic towards other people, so essentially, not a racist prick. Sounds like you're telling on yourself as to who you really are. Good don't come back, we don't need your kind here.

Just randomly looking at coast towns and landed on Arcata, CA. Very cool. Nice doggo!
Went to high school in Arcata my freshman year.........1960.
Amazing 😊 I bet it was so fun here in the 60s!

Do house tour videos please. I’d love to see what homes look like in Arcata
Send me an email and I can send you virtual house tours!
I love the info you give in your videos!
I would be interested to know what people do in Humboldt. I am also interested in watching videos with various reviews of different houses
I love that! I plan to share some fun events and things to do this summer 😊
Don't forget to eat at the Big Blue Cafe

It's pronounced reel-tor
Ken, of all the words I mispronounce, that one does make me cringe. Old habits die hard 😂
