Having a flamethrower that doesn't deal fire damage feels like heresy. Then again I have 3 builds for mine. Two of them are heat damage builds, one does as little damage as possible but has as much status chance and duration as I can throw on it and the other is also status chance and duration heavy but it maxes the damage out. The third build on my Ignis Wraith is a gas build.

I've always appreciated the Ignis Wraith as a very comfortable "farm" weapon; Helped carry me thru a lot of early-game resource grinds like Oxium for Vauban Prime, or Polymer for Valkyr Prime, and became my go-to primary for Fortuna when that first launched. Now-a-days though, I'll use it occasionally simply on the principle of it being the only flamethrower in Warframe and flamethrowers are kinda cool :P
Oh, it's the good ol' reliable! I personally run a Heat-Corrosive-Radiation with Crit (Point Strike and Vital Sense), with Rifle Elementalist. It's worth the 6 Forma! Keep up the great work and take care! Glad to hear you are better!

Since you said you weren't sure, yes it also has terrain punchthrough built in. I use mine to break containers all the time, like the ones in the hanging globes in the void to then bullet jump up and suck the loot out without needing to open them.

But, the Ingis Wraith is one of the reasons aoe was obliterated so hard, and it was targeted in particular (actually explicitly mentioned in the aoe nerf patch notes) with being unable to proc anything headshot related unless you clip their head hitbox with the aoe around the end of the beam and only their head, which is a bug, and if you hit anything else with the aoe it won't proc. So throwing in Hammer Shot or something else would legitimately be more effective in general, and You can bet that eventually Crosshairs will be patched off from working on ignis. Also maybe it’s just that you play inaros with arcane grace so much that you got arcane grace irl. All you needed to do was play a little Warframe with the hurt hand to hurt it until grace proc’ed. ❤❤
Genuine question, but why not run cold on the hound? I love using it personally cuz it allows for easier headshots and survivability and higher dps for crit weapons. I almost exclusively run cold/corrosive on mine
I am not looking forward for the day where this gets suddenly "nerfed" because people constantly complaining about how good,overused and "Overpowered" it is. When they don't realize nor understand it takes a lot of forma and proper setup to fully make full use of this good ol reliable.

I put full on heat on nine with 100% status damage and elementals, the heat procs kills way faster..... a literal flamethrower.
