@@tommtommkin Yes, same guy. Not clear on the details behind the case but I think he was open carrying on his property and someone who never liked him saw it and called police. LOLOLOL It's also a song that was very popular on chain gangs, prisoners. It's a very old song even before he performed it.

Black Betty was one of my favorite songs in my youth. We all played this song during our parties several times, here in austria.

He was pulled over and in Ohio he is required to inform the officer immediately that he is carrying a concealed weapon. In the video, whenever he tries to tell them, he is either told to be quiet or is interrupted. When he tries to hand them the permit, they tell him to put it away and give them his driver license. When he can finally tell them he is carrying the officers lose their minds and threaten to beat him, shoot him, and execute him while his partner watched and "not lose any sleep over it". They put him in handcuffs and placed him in the police car while he was still holding the permit in his hand. Then they searched his car for the permit, couldn't find it and threatened him on felony charges for carrying without a permit. Poor guy, glad it all worked out for him.

There is NO WAY this is Bill Bartlett of Ram Jam. I toured with the guy as the lead singer of Ram Jam. This is not Bill and he would not carry a concealed weapon.

@@mccarthy86 Bill Bartlett is from Indiana. He is NOT British. This guy is not Bill. That house is not the house where we shot the Black Betty video. In fact it's not even close. We shot that video in Bayville, Long Island at Howie, the bass player's house. BTW, Bill is 76 years old.

@@mccarthy86 I don't know exactly where Bill was born I had been to his house in Indiana on a number of occasions. It is possible that his dad was in the military and he may have been born outside of the United States. But that was something that he never ever talked about if it is true. Also he was born on February 29th so it was a leap year. He's one of a handful of people I know born on that day.

@@PachinhoG2024 I did too, and agree .Totally different home. Single story with a 7 / 12 pitch. House in the vid is a two story old farm style home. This vid shows that same home, with possibly a box-window-buildout on the left side, and now a gazebo in a clarly large back yard.
