Fairly certain Buccaneer ignores ball and chain - B&C's effect just sets the cooldown to a minimum of 0.75, and Buccaneer's effect is a reset, not a cooldown reduction. That is, it doesn't matter what the cooldown is, it'll be reset.
Wound up with 2 bearded baby, the amulet that auto pulls in material, and a legendary sniper to compliment the shotguns and laser. Extremely blessed that time around. Sincere thanks for your work sir, it's a blessing.
I got a cursed krakens eye that explodes me for 3100 damage and bloody hand so im exploding almost all the time for 3100 haha. As well as 2 chain guns which have zero cooldown even with all the penalties. Insane run just wanted to share. Thanks for these videos.
My win on this one was with Shotguns, which was absolutely hilarious once it got rolling. Picked up an early pumpkin and had a Wave 11 Horde, so that helped
I personally feel like, as long as you have more than 1 slot not locked, while you have the fish hook, it's worth rerolling. You're still pretty likely to roll into something you do kinda like, and your chances of getting a succesful curse goes from 64% to 78%, which nearly halves your chance of not getting a single fishhook curse.
The crystals seem like a good buy because they reduce severity of the worst case scenario. It's understandable to think they would synergize well here - but, of course, you're right about how scenarios where there are no materials to hand to reset cooldowns, you're going to suffer damage shortly and kill the effects of any crystals you have. This seems like a character with little/no Endless stamina, even if it gets Sifd's Relic.

Followed your guide cus i just got the DLC and got incredibly confused lol. I was super lucky by getting Sifd's relic so the materials just automatically flew to me and also retromation's hoodie when i already had high dodge so the minus atk spd didn't matter anymore lmao. thanks for the guide
I used slingshot so I could kill more enemies around the map. Only killed the last two bosses but it worked well. Can’t wait for the Buccaneer + Jack combo in GMO. Will be VERY cool to see the infinite cooldown from all the enemy materials drops.
Slingshots are great but I think can run into the problem of forcing you to run pretty far for materials to reset - still an awesome weapon, but I think a little more difficult than lasers (not that anything is that hard on this character)
yeah. Every cooldown put on your weapons by just attacking or for another reason, will reset. But it seems not to affect weapon animations. i.e melee weapons need to actually complete not only their attack but also pulling back animation before it can start again. Contuary to range ones which just shoot and thats all. It make sense but i really curios about working melee builds for buccaneer. Maybe that new ogre club would work wonders.
Wouldn't 2 x Crystals + Community support + 20% attack speed upgrade at the end put you at positive attack speed? Not that it matters much since the materials override cooldowns but nice to have in the event of materials not dropping
does anyone have mods temporarily disabled? something about recovering from some mod, cant remember? ive verified the files, reinstalled, tried all the beta versions? any ideas
To get it to work with the mods, I had to unsubscribe and then resubscribe to only the gmo mod and its prerequisites (and have had to repeat that each time)

Ultimately - coz it have no lvl 1 version. Blunderbuss have OK base damage (25-80 vs 40-100) , but really bad scaling (100-150% vs 400-600%) and even less aspd, so its just a bad laser gun for this character.
Blunderbuss is (oddly) actually quite bad for this character! It has the same reset property already, so you're just using a weapon with low base damage and no advantage
Played Buccaneer with shotgun and revolver and had the easiest run of my life lol. I *THINK* that picking up a mat resets the revolver's reload timer, but I could be wrong on that. If it does, then revolver is actually really good on him because it attacks relatively quickly even with the 100% AS penalty. Also - I got 4 geckos in my run which means every mat is instantly grabbed, and this can be useful but also can hurt you if you "waste" mats by picking up multiple without attacking (e.g. if no enemy is in range or if there are no enemies currently alive). Something worth considering.
At least in the beta, metal detector didn't work right on this guy. Just gave +1 instead of acrually doubling. This game is usually good at having items do what they say, with some exceptions, so i was hopeful that would get fixed

I lucked out and got a mini gun fairly early, between that and 3 laser guns and a blunderbuss ( later swapped for another mini gun ), this was a fairly easy run.

Fully agree!. I just tested with Cursed B&C with no impact for attack pattern, but it's definitly worth buying for stats :)

i think the metal detector's giving 4 materials, at 25:25 you can see the final one is x4 materials.

Something I noticed about the crystal is that it starts building up again after you take the damage which is pretty cool
Yes, it does! It still wasn't a great purchase here, but is a pretty strong item for other characters, especially in multiples

shotguns I think are also excellent (and I prefer them for the second weapon here, but we found revolvers first)

I just got a d5 clear on this character going Laser Gun and Blunderbuss. The 4 Small Geckos catapulted the run

Blobfish probably added it as a starter weapon in the beta so players could experiment with it without having to find it

I loved the laser guns was a great build, but instead of grabbing a revolver I went 6 lasers, then later found a sniper which was great

I was at odd numbers quite a few times in the run i did with metal detector with no harvest. Maybe i bought something that put me at odd numbers.

Try shotguns. The clear is insane and you even reset the reload time
