  • Today, we explored Hurricane Ridge Road in Big South Fork. We walked a horse trail to a fantastic overlook above White Oak Creek. We then explored the area around Potter's Arch and found a nice waterfall. Lastly, we made a quick trip to Honey Creek Overlook. On the way home, I stopped for a few pictures at Rugby.

I like the signs. Very nice! Pretty overlook. Potter's Arch is pretty neat! Arch and rockhouse all in the same place, and fresh drinking water too! Gonna have to get over and check that out. the remains from the gas industry would be neat to see too. Fun video Kerry. You had a good explore!

I was amazed how much was still there from the pre-park days. There were old roads everywhere going over the hill so no telling how many more gas relics there are.

We sure are hoping that the hurricanes will be a little more gentle with us this year, if not, we'll have to renames ourselves Hurricane Ridge, or at least Hurricane Alley! Quite the marvelous area!! Pretty cool arches...must have been some water action in those parts at one time of another.

It is a big off an odd name. Maybe occasionally high winds across the ridge?

Cool arch and great overlook. You got some good footage of the river too.

I decided to identify as a horse so I pooped on the trail.

That’s a very nice area to explore, minus all the mud. It wasn’t that bad when I was out there last fall. That arch is one of the more unique arches in BSF. The tunnel makes it like no other.
You guys had a really nice day. I may have to venture back over that way since the other part of the park is still closed for storm cleanup.

I drove out gravel road to right of the tank. Could not believe all the old tanks etc. yeah the trail was really bad with all the rain.
