Exactly! Debbie Gibson is a legend, how many teen idols from the 80s or young singers today write and produce there own music like DG. Her talents surpasses Britney and Christina Aguilera combined, and also didn't have to use her body in an overly sexual way to market her music (i.e. Miley Cyrus comes to mind).

First thing's first.. she has aged. Then she kind'a applied the broadway style of singing, even jazz as her technique if ever she wasn't able to reach her high notes. As what other critics say, she can get away with it. But yeah, she's still one of the best performers 'alive' and still goes on. Debbie has nothing to prove at this point in her life. She's just enjoying fruits of her achievements and respect as well from fans globally.

Her videos were for enjoyment not to exploit her anatomy as alot of teen pop girls did in the 90s and beyond. If she did chose to make a more adult video now at age 47 shes earned that right. Her fans are not impressionable teens anymore.
Almost all pop acts flopped after 1990. Debbie was not the only one.
BTW: She posed for playboy in 2005. So in her mid-30s.
