Maya Bay is accessible by boat from nearby islands, with a boat ride from Koh Phi Phi Don taking approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Many organized tours include a stop at the bay as part of their itinerary.

Due to over-tourism, Maya Bay was previously closed to restore its delicate ecosystem. In 2024, it was temporarily closed again from August 1st to September 30th to protect nature and ensure tourist safety during the rainy season.
