@mechy2k2000 depends on your broker for the high margin requirements, Tradovate/Ninja Trader is only $50 for S&P 500 micros, so a person could potentially start with a $150-$200 account But yeah, options can be started cheaper, and the lack of PDT rules with futures can lead beginners to over trade, so they both got pros and cons

the reason that is because of the profit/lost volatility, option is a wild west for that.
