    Thanks again for this amazingly created and detailed video. I have seen all your videos one by one in last one week and already a fan. Since you have been to both emerald & niyama private islands. Would like to know your suggestion which one would be better choice for our honeymoon?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Damini! Thanks so much for reaching out! They are both beautiful, and different, properties. Niyama is a much larger island and it does have an underwater restaurant. Emerald is smaller, all inclusive and does not have an underwater restaurant. If you’re looking for total piece of mind and don’t want to leave the resort with a bill for incidentals, I would recommend emerald due to its truly all inclusive offering. Niyama is fantastic, but will likely cost a bit more overall. You honestly can’t go wrong with either one- they are both wonderful hotels. My recommendation is to look at the room types within your budget and pick the one you like the most :)

      Hi it's really becoming difficult to decide one out of all resorts. I would really appreciate if you can help us to finalize one out of both if we get them in almost similar budget and in niyama getting all nights at ocean pool villa while need to split stay in Emerald at same budget. What about Heritance Aarah? Is it better choice than both?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Damini! So I would first ask if you are getting the same meal plan at Niyama. It may be cheaper, but if you’re not getting all inclusive then that is a big consideration. I would say go with emerald in that case. Heritance is good, but they have many limits on services unless you are in the ocean suites so I don’t think it’s the best option

      Hi Kareem! Thanks for reaching out! It really is a wonderful resort. They had tons of activities and one is usually included in your booking if you stay more than 4-7 days, I am not sure exactly. Their scuba diving was incredible, great dolphin tour and we loved the fishing :). The food was ok, some was great, some was just ok. The drinks, however, were great. I hope their food consistency improves, but overall i would recommend it :)

    Hi there. Appreciate your videos. We see that you have stayed at Emerald, Lux, and Heritance. How would you compare/rate them against each other? We are travelling for our honeymoon and comparing Emerald ocean villa vs Heritance beach villa vs Lux beach pavillion. Excellent beach/water/landscape, food with a-la-carte dinner options, and some sort of daytime/evening entertainment (liveliness) is important to us.

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hey adam! Not a bad place for a honeymoon! Love it. So I would not do a Heritance beach villa because a number of them have really not great locations so that is automatically out in my opinion unless you do the beach pool villa (there’s not many so they are on the best beach). Lux beach pavilions are nice and the island is natural so there’s a lot of lush vegetation. To be honest it’s hard to go wrong with an emerald ocean villa - I love the views and it’s on the quiet side of the jetty so you have total privacy with nothing but stunning sunsets and gorgeous water. Their all inclusive is excellent with so many options and you don’t get up charged for anything. Heritance and lux both have restaurants you have to pay extra for so it slightly diminishes the all inclusive idea. Emerald also had nightly singers, DJs and more so that would great. I also like that you get a butler at emerald- it’s essentially a personal concierge and it really is a wonderful experience that you don’t get at lux and you only get at Heritance if you pay for the ocean suites. Lux and Heritance also have limits to the all inclusive which is not quite the point of going all inclusive. Of the three, I genuinely like emerald for a stress free fab vacation. Let me know any other questions you have!

      Hi Isael, thanks for your comment! Good question. Some of their offers do include transfers, so I would DEFINITELY check out any promotions they have going when you book, because it will save you a lot of money. Typically, the standard BAR rates do not include transfers.

    Emerald Maldives is one of the resorts we are interested in by cost and all-inclusive. Do you think all-inclusive is worth the extra $$, and if so any other recommendations in maldives?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi frank! Yes all inclusive is really a great deal in the Maldives - I would account for about 125-150 for breakfast for 2, 200 for lunch and 200+ for dinner so all inclusive is a great call if you drink alcohol in particular. Emerald has an amazing all inclusive program, especially if you drink wine! They are opened a brand new property that looks even nicer that I would recommend checking out :). Also, JA is supposed to be exceptional - heading there next month so stay tuned!!

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! Thanks so much for your comment. The water was pretty clear, but there were some rocks and natural vegetation on the sand so it doesn’t look as blue in some areas. It’s very nice for swimming at high tide and watching the break out in the reef was spectacular. In general the beach villas tend to have a bit more pure sand. Hope this helps!

      @VoyagerGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honest review! Always! We try to do our best to give travelers a genuine idea of what to expect at a resort, to set expectations. When we review a place we try to look at it holistically, not just share a “this happened to me…” story (there’s plenty of that in TripAdvisor).
      Are you planning you planning a trip to the Maldives? What other resorts are you looking at?

    • @kimwahchueng5291

      Considering milaidhoo, four season’s landaa or gili lankanfushi: any pro & cons for these options? What’s your thoughts on their waters, beaches, services & most importantly food qualities? TQ

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kim! we are a little biased because Milaidhoo is honestly our favorite hotel in the world, lol. However, it really comes down to what you like out of your vacation because Milaidhoo is VERY small with only ~30 rooms and not much to do because the main objective there is relaxation and exclusivity. Gili is similar, definitely showing its age when it comes to rooms and the property. We haven't stayed there personally, but have heard from many of our travelers that it's quite dated these days. Four Seasons is very close to Milaidhoo, the prices are right around the same, beautiful island. Both Milaidhoo and FS have great reefs, very healthy and alive in Baa Atoll known for its rays and incredible fish life. One other recommendation we have in that price range is Ritz-Carlton and you get the Marriott points out of it, which is quite nice. Their reefs aren't comparable to Milaidhoo or Baa Atoll as a whole. There's a bit more "happening" at the Ritz from an activities standpoint. Emerald is in a different price point entirely. While it's certainly a great hotel and we had an amazing time, it is definitely worth mentioning that it's not the same caliber resort as the hotels you mentioned. It's a great mid-range all inclusive, with a passable food program and AMAZING all-inclusive wine. The main beach is very beautiful and there is an excellent reef on the sunrise side. Emerald is in Raa Atoll, also an excellent reef system. Let us know any other questions!

    Editing is jerky and irritating, very unprofessional. Decide ahead of time what you’re going to say so you don’t have all of these abrupt edits. Also, we need to know why you downgraded certain categories, such as food. Did you expect caviar every night? It would be nice to know what items fell short and why.

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mike, since you asked so nicely, we're happy to dig into these categories as requested :).
      Specifically related to food, as we stated at 7:43, the food is fairly inconsistent. As noted, the beverage program is fantastic, but the food was overall, quite bland.
      At 9:11, we speak to the buffet options being somewhat bland and boring versus the Indian/Sri Lankan dishes being significantly better. At a true 5 star, every dish should be delicious, fresh and perfectly flavored. Regarding expectations of caviar, as a matter of fact, they do actually offer caviar! However, while that’s a “nice to have”, what was lacking for a five star experience is that the food was not able to meet the minimum requirements of consistency across property. Another ding in their star rating is around presentation. 5 star food experiences focus a lot on plating, as well as flavor, but we felt a large majority of their dishes were uninspired in their presentation and not up the quality standards of a 5 star dining experience.
      Regarding your commentary on editing, I’m sorry it’s not to your liking. In fact, if it was so irritating, I’m confused why you kept watching. We can’t be everyone’s taste and that’s ok 🤷🏽‍♀️. In situations like this, it’s best to hit the thumbs down button twice ;).
      We have more details in each category in the written version of the video on our website: www.voyagerguru.com/hotel-review-emerald-maldives-resort-spa-all-inclusive/
